Chapter 526

"Don't get carried away, Duel King." Melo said, "Activate the effect of 'Elemental HERO Prisma'!

Once per turn, by revealing a Fusion Monster to the opponent, I can send one Fusion Material monster listed on that Fusion Monster from my deck to the Graveyard.

Then, until the end of the turn, 'Elemental HERO Prisma' is treated as that monster's name!"

Melo revealed a Fusion Monster card.

"I want to reveal Gladiator Beast Gyzarus!

And send 'Gladiator Beast Bestiari', which is a Fusion Material for Gyzarus, from my deck to the Graveyard."

Melo's deck performed a search. He drew the Bestiari card from his deck, showed it, and sent it to the Graveyard. At the same time, Prisma's arms opened, and his brilliant crystal body refracted colorful light, the light and shadow reflecting the image of the Gladiator Beast onto the transparent crystal on his body.

"In this way, Prisma can be treated as 'Gladiator Beast Bestiari' for this turn."

Melo revealed another card from his hand.

"And when there is a 'Gladiator Beast' on my field, this card can be Special Summoned directly from my hand without conditions.

Appear, 'Test Tiger'!"

A smaller tiger jumped onto his field, wearing colorful clothing.

【Test Tiger, ATK 600】

Test Tiger was also a reinforcement card that had a significant impact on the Gladiator Beast system when it was first released. The appearance of this card largely alleviated the restriction that Gladiator Beasts had to engage in battle to operate before it.

In fact, the inclusion of Prisma was the same. Prisma Gladiator Beasts were also a hot mainstream build at that time, because Prisma's ability could also dispatch any Gladiator Beast from the deck without battle.

But of course, a key point of why this build was so powerful in reality was that Prisma was strengthened into a Level 4 monster. If it were made into a physical card according to the anime, a Level 5 Prisma would be too painful...

"The second effect of Test Tiger." Melo said, "By Tributing this card, I can return any 'Gladiator Beast' on my field to the owner's deck.

Then I can Special Summon any 'Gladiator Beast' monster from my deck."

Test Tiger let out a low growl, and its form dissipated from the field as golden light spots.

"Tribute Test Tiger, and return the 'Elemental HERO Prisma' on my field, which is being treated as 'Gladiator Beast Bestiari', to the deck!"

The image of Bestiari flashed across the countless prisms on the Elemental HERO's body, and a green whirlwind seemed to roll up around Prisma, returning him to Melo's deck as if riding that whirlwind.

"Special Summon 'Gladiator Beast Darius' from my deck!"

Just as the name suggests, the newly appeared Gladiator Beast was a horse standing upright, wearing heavy armor, with a long ponytail swinging behind it.

【Gladiator Beast Darius, ATK 1700】

"The effect of Gladiator Beast Darius. When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a 'Gladiator Beast' monster, Special Summon one 'Gladiator Beast' monster from my Graveyard with its effects negated."

A green whirlwind flew out from Melo's Graveyard and landed on his field with a boom. That was naturally the key Gladiator Beast that had just been sent from the deck via Prisma's effect.

"Come back, Gladiator Beast Bestiari!"

In the whirlwind, it was as if countless wind blades cut through the air, and the invisible wind condensed into a tangible sharp blade—a pair of turbine metal wings. The armored bird-beast Gladiator Beast appeared in the storm.

【Gladiator Beast Bestiari, ATK 1500】

"Then return the 'Gladiator Beast Bestiari' and 'Gladiator Beast Darius' on my field to the deck, and perform a Gladiator Fusion!"

Melo shouted sternly.

"Ancient surviving raptor fighter, merge with the Gladiator soul, and become a battle-hardened warrior! Now descend here—

—Gladiator Beast Gyzarus!"

The Fusion condition is Bestiari plus any other Gladiator Beast. The raptor Gladiator's turbines spun at full speed, whipping up a green whirlwind again. The Gladiator Beast's form dissolved into the storm, and the sky-high gale also swept Darius into it. The field seemed to instantly turn into a distant and ancient battlefield, and the sky was torn into chaos by invisible forces. The green storm swirled and whistled, swallowing everything into an endless emerald vortex, as if piercing through to the time and space of ancient Rome.

Steel wing-blades cut through the storm; the Gladiator Beast, forged with the soul of an ancient Roman emperor, was a bird-beast warrior clad in steel armor, its wings waving wantonly in the hurricane, each cut accompanied by the roar of thunder.

Gladiator Beast Gyzarus, summon!

【Gladiator Beast Gyzarus, ATK 2400】

"Not bad." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Even with the premise that not a single battle could be established, you still successfully summoned Gyzarus?"

"I said, this level of restriction cannot bind the power of the Gladiator Beasts."

Melo raised his voice.

"The effect of Gladiator Beast Gyzarus! When this card is successfully Special Summoned, destroy up to two cards on the field.

I destroy the Continuous Spell 'Blaze Accelerator' and the Continuous Trap 'Fire Wall' on your field!"

Among them, the cannon was the soul of the Volcanic deck and the key to its output. And Fire Wall was the culprit hindering his Gladiator Beasts from fighting, so he judged it to be the primary threat.

!. Read

Gyzarus flapped his wings, and countless steel feathers blasted out like a barrage. The massive metal cannon and the wall of fire guarding Fujiki You Xuan's field were instantly reduced to nothing under Gyzarus's bombardment.

"With this, your defensive line has collapsed!" Melo shouted, "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus, direct attack!"

The steel wing-blades swung again, and the green storm swept toward Fujiki You Xuan with unstoppable momentum!

"To be able to break through the blockade to this extent in such an unfavorable situation, and continue to summon your ace to launch an attack—should I say it's worthy of the power of the Gladiator Beasts?

However..."

Fujiki You Xuan's expression was half-smiling.

"Then what are you going to do about the next blockade?"

"What?"

Fujiki You Xuan snapped his fingers.

"Continuous Trap 'Gravity Bind'.

As long as this card is on the field, all Level 4 or higher monsters on both sides cannot attack!"

Melo: "..."

Gravity waves were released, and the powerful gravity immediately pressed Gyzarus, who had lunged halfway, firmly to the ground, unable to move. Even the green storm he had summoned seemed unable to resist the powerful gravity and dissipated into thin air.

Melo's mouth twitched.

That's right, he should have thought of it earlier.

Gravity Bind was originally a lockdown-type Trap often used by Fujiki You Xuan in the past. Since he had decided to play a "shut-in" burn deck, how could he not bring this ancestor of "shut-in" tactics?

"What's wrong? You went to the trouble of summoning Gyzarus, aren't you going to attack?"

Fujiki You Xuan asked with a smile.

Melo snorted heavily.

"Set one card, turn end."
