Chapter 574

The moment the monster was placed on the Duel Disk, a circle of transparent electric arcs seemed to explode with Fujiki You Xuan as the center. A large amount of electric light erupted outward, and the overflowing lightning formed a field like a red force field. Dark red energy condensed within that field; first, a pair of dangerous dark red circular eyes, followed by a body forged of steel, arms crossed, releasing a domineering pressure onto the entire field.

Jinzo, summon!

【Jinzo, ATK 2400】

Jinzo spread his arms, and electric arcs were released with him as the center; his posture of looking up was as if he were venting his frustrations.

Finally! A long-lost breath of fresh air on the dueling field!

Another chance to perform.

Jinzo rubbed his hands, intending to perform well. But the phantom of the Evil Emperor poured cold water from behind: "The master only bestowed this chance because he finds you pitiful... well, it doesn't matter, you're just cannon fodder that will be off the field in minutes anyway."

"Don't talk nonsense to me!" Jinzo's momentum was like a rainbow, "Watch closely, I'm going to take flight with this today!"

"Haha, everyone is quite spirited, that's good," Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Then let's go all out with this momentum.

Jinzo, attack 'Cloudian - Sheep Cloud'."

Red light flashed in Jinzo's eyes, and under the shroud of an invisible force field, the set card in Amon's back row seemed to faintly flash with dark red electric snakes, just like transparent electric chains.

That is the power of binding traps; Jinzo's trap absolute prohibition field. In this field, any trap is prohibited and cannot be activated.

However, Amon didn't seem to have any intention of activating a trap to begin with. Jinzo's attack passed directly without any obstruction, causing one of the white clouds on Amon's field to explode.

Amon raised his arm to block the impact, but then said.

"Then the effect of 'Cloudian - Sheep Cloud' activates.

When Sheep Cloud is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, I Special Summon two 'Sheep Cloud Tokens' in Defense Position on my field." The exploding cloud did not disappear, but split into two, turning into two smaller clouds that stayed firmly on Amon's field.

【Sheep Cloud Token, DEF 0】 x2

Fujiki You Xuan: "Turn end."

"My turn, draw!"

Amon looked at the card he drew, didn't play it immediately, but instead raised his head to look at Fujiki You Xuan again.

"I don't know through what channel you heard news about me, King of Games Fujiki You Xuan. I also don't know how you view me, but what I do know is that you actually don't understand me at all."

"Oh?" Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "Is that so? You are so sure of this?"

"Of course," Amon closed his eyes gently. "As the King, you should be unable to understand, right?

Abandoned by parents from birth, ignored by society, given the fate of 'death' from the moment of birth into this world, all one can do is watch the clouds in the sky and wait for death to arrive..."

Fujiki You Xuan nodded: "Yeah, unable to understand."

Such a straightforward and crisp answer actually made Amon choke.

His emotions weren't even coherent, and he even forgot what he originally wanted to say in the second half of the sentence.

"I haven't experienced it, so of course I can't understand," Fujiki You Xuan shrugged naturally, then smiled. "However, so what? Dueling isn't about who is more miserable to win."

Amon: "..."

Amon remembered hearing people say before that this King of Games' mouth is as annoying as his dueling, and now that he sees it, it really lives up to its reputation.

"It was my rudeness; indeed, the King has no need to listen to such boring life stories," Amon took a deep breath. "I just want to say, the resilience and strength possessed by those from the bottom of despair who crawled out from the depths of hell..."

He pushed up his glasses and said in a deep voice. "My Cloudians and I will absolutely not lose to anyone."

Amon raised his head, his gaze firm.

"Effect of 'Summon Cloud'," Amon said. "During my Standby Phase, send one card from my hand to the Graveyard; if I don't, this card must be destroyed.

I will not send a card from my hand to the Graveyard this turn, therefore 'Summon Cloud' is destroyed." (Original effect)

This is the cost that only the original anime version had; the physical card had this cost deleted because the effect of 'Summon Cloud' itself was weakened quite a bit. Amon did not pay the cost, so 'Summon Cloud' immediately turned into smoke and dissipated.

"Then I offer the two 'Sheep Cloud Tokens' on my field, as well as the remaining 'Cloudian - Sheep Cloud', a total of three cards, as Offerings for a Tribute Summon!

Appear, Cloudian - Nimbusman!"

A column of water shot into the sky, shrouding the three white clouds on Amon's field. The white clouds disintegrated in the water flow, and when they gathered again, they quickly formed a brand-new posture.

It was still in the shape of a cloud, but it quickly took the form of some kind of human-like entity. A short and even slightly chubby figure, a smooth head, facial features tightly squeezed together, looking at the opponent with an unkind expression.

【Cloudian - Nimbusman, ATK 1000】

"Eh?" Eye said strangely beside Fujiki You Xuan, "It's clearly only a Level 5 monster, yet it used three Offerings..."

"It's a monster with a special ability," Fujiki You Xuan said.

!. Read

"As expected of the King of Games, you saw it at a glance," Amon chuckled. "That's right! Cloudian - Nimbusman, when this card is Tribute Summoned, it can be summoned by using any number of WATER monsters on your field as Offerings.

And this card's ATK will increase by 500 points for each WATER monster used as an Offering!"

"So that's how it is," Fujiki You Xuan said. "You just used three Offerings, all of which were WATER attribute."

"Correct," Amon said. "Nimbusman's ATK increases by 1500!"

【Cloudian - Nimbusman, ATK 1000 -> ATK 2500】

Eye said in great surprise: "Ah, the ATK exceeds our Jinzo!"

"It's not over yet," Amon sneered. "When Cloudian - Nimbusman is successfully Tribute Summoned, the ATK of all monsters on the opponent's field decreases by 500 points for each WATER monster used as an Offering!" (Original effect)

After being released as a physical card, it only has the effect of increasing its own ATK, and not this effect of decreasing the opponent's ATK. Seen this way, the physical Cloudian deck is actually weakened quite a bit compared to the anime.

Jinzo, who had been crossing his arms the whole time, couldn't help but lower his arms upon hearing this, pointing at himself uneasily.

Huh? ATK decrease... me?

Amon shouted: "Jinzo, accept the effect of Nimbusman, ATK decreases by 1500!"

Blue transparent water mist like water vapor surrounded Jinzo, and Jinzo's body emitted a series of popping sounds as if it were being eroded by the water body.

【Jinzo, ATK 2400 -> ATK 900】

"Battle!" Amon said. "Cloudian - Nimbusman, attack 'Jinzo'!"

Airflow formed a vortex in front of Nimbusman, as if it had condensed into a piercing javelin that went straight through Jinzo's chest!

Jinzo was depressed.

It really became cannon fodder again, damn it...
