Chapter 615

"Then my turn, draw."

It was Fujiki You Xuan's turn.

"Set one monster on the field in face-down defense position." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Then set one card in the back row, turn ends."

Jim pondered.

Although it was the second turn, he didn't launch an attack. Is he leaving a chance for me to perform?

Or is he digging a pit waiting for me to jump in...

Jim shook his head.

Don't think about it, anyway, focus on my own duel first.

"My turn, draw!" Jim said, "I tribute 'Shell Knight' for an Advanced Summon! Appear—

—Two-Headed Beast!"

A burning centaur, but the upper body had two lion heads, and the heads were wrapped in burning flames.

【Two-Headed Beast, ATK 1700】

"Battle, first Two-Headed Beast attacks the face-down monster!"

The lion head on the right of the beast roared, and at the same time, its right hand pinched a fireball, striking through the air. The flames hit the card Fujiki You Xuan covered on the field, the card flipped, revealing a bird that was small in size but looked a bit sinister.

【White Owl of Good Luck, DEF 500】

It looked like a white-feathered owl.

"White Owl of Good Luck, flip effect." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Select a field magic from the deck and place it on top of my deck."

Jim frowned.

A monster with the effect of searching for a field...

He knew well that the operation of many decks could not be separated from the field, and some fields were simply the absolute core of tactics. At this time, although he didn't know what deck the opponent was using, if possible, he definitely couldn't let the opponent easily get the field he wanted.

"Then activate the set card!" Jim said, "Counter Trap 'True Sword Duel'!

Can be activated when a monster effect, magic, or trap card is activated during the damage step of a battle, negate that activation and destroy it!"

Fujiki You Xuan nodded: "'White Owl of Good Luck' is a flip effect, triggered when attacked, still within the damage step of the battle. True Sword Duel can be activated."

"Therefore, White Owl's effect becomes negated," Jim's mouth raised, "It seems you can't get the field you want, what a pity."

"Yeah." Fujiki You Xuan nodded, also looking regretful.

While speaking, White Owl had already been destroyed under the power of the Counter Trap, leaving only flying feathers.

"It's not over yet." Jim touched the brim of his hat and continued to smile, "Two-Headed Beast's monster effect.

Can attack twice in one battle phase!"

Jim waved his hand.

"Two-Headed Beast's second consecutive strike! Go, attack Fujiki You Xuan directly this time!"

The beast's second head also let out a roar, flames spewing from its mouth. Fujiki You Xuan slowly raised an arm to block in front of him, the flames surging past him, the stereoscopic image effect looking as if it were going to set him on fire.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 3500 → LP 1800】

"Great!" Jim was excited.

Inflicting a large amount of damage in one breath, this duel was unexpectedly smooth...

But then he heard Fujiki You Xuan say: "Activate set card. Trap card 'Damage Capacitor'.

When I take battle damage, I need to discard a hand card to activate the effect."

Fujiki You Xuan sent a hand card to the graveyard.

"Special summon any monster from the deck with an attack value lower than the attack I took—which is 1700 points—to the field in attack position."

Fujiki You Xuan raised his duel disk, a beam of light flew out from the deck, landing on the field and turning into a somewhat creepy image, like a giant tongue with weird eyes on it. 【Tongue Twister, ATK 400】

Jim frowned: "Only summoned a monster with 400 attack..."

He knew there must be a mystery, but after pondering for two seconds, he didn't think much more, just ended the battle phase and continued to play cards.

"Then I activate magic card 'Treasures of Heaven'." Jim said, "This card can be activated in the turn that an Advanced Summon was performed.

Draw two cards from the deck. But the drawn cards cannot be used, and if there are cards that can be set, at least one must be set this turn." (Original effect)

Jim drew two cards from the deck, his fingers sliding slowly across the hand cards, then picked one of them.

"Set one card on the field, turn ends."

Fujiki You Xuan: "Then my turn, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan drew a card, then revealed one of the cards in his hand. At the same time, the image of a majestic man wearing a jackal mask appeared on his field, his semi-transparent figure like a ghost, his blue scarf fluttering in the wind.

"Activate the effect of 'Gravekeeper's Commandant' in my hand." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Discard this card from my hand to add one 'Necrovalley' from the deck to my hand."

He sent the Commandant he had shown to the graveyard, then pulled out the card that popped out of the duel disk, showed it briefly, and added it to his hand.

"Add field magic 'Necrovalley' from the deck to my hand."

Then the field slot on the side of his duel disk popped open immediately.

"Field magic 'Necrovalley', activate!"

The ground shook, and the dense forest and dark night disappeared in the rolling thick smoke in an instant. In its place were towering mountains, so dense that it seemed as if even the sky was going to be covered. The sunlight was covered by thick gray, just like an absolute forbidden zone where even light could not shine in.

"Necrovalley... I see, was White Owl also trying to get this field just now?"

Jim pondered.

Looking at it this way, this field seemed to have some key role. However, it was his first time seeing this card, so it was hard to judge.

Fujiki You Xuan didn't mean to continue explaining either, just continued on his own.

"Then I tribute 'Tongue Twister' for an Advanced Summon!

The Emperor who rules over light and thunder, crush any enemy that blocks the way with fierce thunder—

—Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, summon!"

The white domineering figure slowly descended from the sky, the majestic Emperor's cloak fluttering in the wind behind him. Thunder swirled around him, gathering together, as if listening to the general's command, turning into thousands of troops roaring forward!

【Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, ATK 2400】

The Two-Headed Beast was suddenly hit, and was smashed to pieces under the thunder and lightning.

Jim raised his arm to block the explosion impact, gritting his teeth: "Thestalos's monster effect..."

"Not bad." Fujiki You Xuan smiled, "When Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch is successfully Advanced Summoned, destroy any monster on the field."

"I see." Jim also smiled, "The famous Monarch series, I have indeed felt the extraordinary power."

"In addition, when Tongue Twister is sent to the graveyard as a tribute, I draw two cards from the deck."

Fujiki You Xuan drew two cards.

In fact, originally after Tongue Twister drew two cards, it needed to be banished from the game. But Necrovalley was on the field, cards in the graveyard could not be banished from the game, so this effect was not processed.

"Then battle."

Fujiki You Xuan said.

"Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, attack the player directly!"
