Chapter 623: Full-Power Professor

Chronos: "Special Summon 'Ancient Gear'!"

A small mechanical gear appeared on the field. Tiny mechanical arms extended from both sides of the gear, and its short little hands braced against the ground as it marched forward.

【Ancient Gear, Defense 800】

"The effect of Ancient Gear: When there is an 'Ancient Gear' on my field, I can Special Summon this card from my hand in Attack Position."

Chronos revealed another card from his hand.

"Therefore, I Special Summon 'Ancient Gear' number two from my hand!"

The second gear was slapped onto the Duel Disk and similarly stood upright quickly.

【Ancient Gear, Attack 100】

"Then, I offer both Ancient Gears as Offerings!"

Chronos raised his arm high, holding his soul and trump card aloft in his hand.

"Tribute Summon, Level Eight—"

"—Ancient Gear Golem!!!"

Chronos's trump card, the spirit monster that was almost synonymous with his personal emblem. As the card was placed in the Monster Zone, the entire field began to shake. Ancient gears interlocked, and the mechanical parts emitted a pleasant, crisp clashing sound. Like a steel fortress rising from the ground, a pair of mechanical hands reached out from the fortress, bracing against the ground, and the red single eye on the steel head, which exuded the aura of time, emitted a sharp light.

【Ancient Gear Golem, Attack 3000】

"He summoned Ancient Gear Golem on the very first turn!" Marufuji Sho exclaimed.

Manjoume nodded: "That guy Chronos is really going all out."

Chronos knew that with the Lord of the Yellow Robe as his opponent, there was naturally no room for carelessness. Moreover, this duel concerned fate, so he went all out from the start.

And he naturally knew a thing or two about Fujiki You Xuan's style.

The Lord of the Underworld, skilled at using a large number of traps to interfere with opponents, dragging them into a place of no return.

However—

Chronos's mouth curled upward, revealing a Pot of Greed-style smile.

My Ancient Gears are exactly what counter the underworld!

The characteristic of all Ancient Gear monsters is that when they attack, the opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap cards until the end of the Damage Step, which to a certain extent can counter many generic traps.

In the Battle Royale mode, the three parties are each considered a faction, so it was now Instructor Napoleon's turn.

"My turn, draw!"

Compared to Chronos, Instructor Napoleon appeared a bit more plain and simple.

"I summon 'Toy Soldier'!" (Original card)

It was a small soldier wearing a red uniform in an old European style, looking like a one-to-one scale human doll, holding a toy gun that looked like a trumpet in its hand.

【Toy Soldier, Attack 800】

"Then I set one card, turn end," Napoleon said.

Chronos expressed dissatisfaction: "What is this, ending so simply. Even if the opponent is a student, he is the King of Games; do you think you can win like this, none?"

"Shut up!"

Napoleon said angrily.

"In the first turn of Battle Royale, no one can attack. Using up most of your hand to summon a trump card like you did has no meaning at all!"

"What did you say?" Chronos was furious, "Are you teaching me how to duel?"

Napoleon put his hands on his hips: "I'm just telling the truth; your level is still too green."

Chronos rolled up his sleeves: "It seems I've been too lenient with you, you shorty. Do you think I can't beat you to death, none?"

Napoleon retorted: "Bring it on, who's afraid of you, Pot of Greed?"

Bystanders: "."

Judai scratched his head helplessly: "It seems it might be a bit difficult to get these two to cooperate."

"Ahem."

Fujiki You Xuan coughed lightly to interrupt. "Well, if both instructors are finished, it's my turn."

The two shut their mouths instantly, waiting with bated breath.

A duel against the Lord of the Yellow Robe, even if it was two-on-one, was still very nerve-wracking.

What cruel methods would this guy use to torture the two of them again?

Fujiki You Xuan revealed a card in his hand.

"Activate Continuous Spell 'Future Fusion'."

"This card allows monsters to fuse in the future... well, I believe knowledgeable professors should know this."

Fujiki You Xuan smiled.

As if to perform in front of his future boss, Chronos rushed to say.

"Future Fusion is divided into two types: Continuous and Equip. The effect of Continuous Future Fusion is to select a Fusion Monster, send the required Fusion Material monsters from the deck to the Graveyard, and perform a Fusion Summon for that Fusion Monster during the Standby Phase two turns later!"

Napoleon clenched his small fists and gritted his teeth: "Damn Chronos, relying on his fast mouth to steal the spotlight in front of Student Fujiki You Xuan."

Chronos held his head high and chest out: "This is the basic quality of a high-level instructor; Instructor Napoleon still needs to learn, none."

Napoleon clenched his fists and gritted his teeth: "Bastard..."

"Then, for the effect of Future Fusion, I choose a Fusion Monster."

"What I want to choose is this—"

Fujiki You Xuan smiled and revealed a Fusion card.

"The Ultimate Worm, Worm Zero."

"The Fusion condition for this card is two or more Reptile-Type monsters with 'Worm' in their name, with no upper limit."

"Therefore, I will from my deck—"

Clatter, clatter—

That was the sound of a large handful of cards being thrown into the air by him.

Everyone watched in a daze as the monster cards flying all over the sky looked like an entire deck had been thrown out.

"I send twenty-five Worms from my deck to the Graveyard!"

"Mamma mia!" Chronos couldn't help but say, "Twenty-five Worms at once?"

Almost half the deck went to the Graveyard before the fight even started; is it that exciting?

"Next, I Normal Summon 'Worm Xex'."

Fujiki You Xuan played another monster card from his hand.

At first, a clump of green, viscous stuff appeared, gradually gathering together like a starfish-like structure, but in the middle, a terrifying mouthpart opened, with chilling white fangs.

【Worm Xex, Attack 1800】

"When Worm Xex is successfully summoned, I can send another Reptile-Type monster with 'Worm' in its name from my deck to the Graveyard."

Fujiki You Xuan's deck automatically executed a search, another Worm popped out, and he sent it to the Graveyard.

Chronos couldn't help but swallow his saliva.

In an instant, there were twenty-six Worms in the Graveyard.

Napoleon: "I always feel like something bad is about to happen, aru."

"The effect of 'Worm Agon' in the Graveyard," Fujiki You Xuan said, "When the only monster on my field is 'Worm Xex', Worm Agon can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard in face-down Defense Position."

Fujiki You Xuan slapped down another monster card. The face-down monster appeared horizontally on the field, but before it was covered, a phantom of a Worm flashed briefly. With a tree-like twisted body and a pair of eyes exuding chilling coldness, the image projected in three dimensions made people feel a sense of suffocation just by looking at it.

This is Worm, one stranger-looking than the next, all things that make people's sanity drop like crazy.
