Chapter 706: Bonds Across Reincarnation

"My turn, draw!"

At the moment of this draw, Jaden felt as if everything was different.

A certain power, dark, restless, carrying a savage violence, and also the dominance of a king of a generation, suddenly surged into his body continuously.

His blood was boiling, his cells were restless, as if every bone in his body was trembling for it. His soul was roaring, cheering, cheering for the power that should have belonged to him but had been dormant for a long time and finally ushered in a revival.

Jaden looked at the card he drew into his hand, his pupils shrinking, and he felt as if the past life that had been sealed for many years along with this card had returned to his mind.

"I see, the power you mentioned is this..."

Although this was the first time he had seen this card in this life, Jaden couldn't help but feel an inexplicable confidence; with this card, he would definitely be able to save Yubel.

But he alone could never awaken the power of this card. Jaden knew in his heart that it was the Supreme King who gave him this opportunity.

"Thanks a lot." Jaden smiled. "Although you look awkward, you're still a pretty good guy."

But there was no response.

"Supreme King?"

Jaden probed strangely.

But there was still no echo.

He felt strange in his heart, but at this critical moment of the duel, he had no time to ask, so he quickly focused back on the duel.

"After drawing, enter the Standby Phase." Jaden said. "During the Standby Phase of this turn, the other effect of 'Takeover5' in the Graveyard activates.

Banish this card and a card with the same name from the Deck, draw one card from the Deck!" (Original card)

Two spell cards appeared in front of him, disappearing with the flickering golden light. Jaden drew a card.

"Next, activate the effect of 'Evil Hero Malicious Bane' again, once per turn, destroy all monsters on the opponent's field with lower ATK than this card!"

Malicious Bane's ability activated again, and boundless darkness roared toward Yubel's field, and even the huge two-headed demon dragon was shattered.

"It's useless no matter how many times you do it!" Yubel shouted angrily. "The second stage leaves the field, revive the third stage from the Graveyard! Descend again in the most desperate posture—

—Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare!!!"

【Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare, ATK 0】

Descending again in its ultimate form, Jaden didn't care.

At this time, Jaden felt energetic, feeling as if his whole body was full of inexhaustible power. He raised his head, and another backrow card flipped: "Activate face-down card, Continuous Trap 'Soul Su Sheng'!

Can Special Summon a Normal Monster from my Graveyard in Defense Position!"

Yubel frowned: "Normal Monster..."

She seemed to have realized with some disgust what it was.

"That's right. This card was returned to the Deck as a material for Contact Fusion, and then sent to the Graveyard by the effect of 'Takeover5' last turn."

A beam of golden light flew out from Jaden's Graveyard.

"Return to the field again, shine, Elemental HERO Neos!"

【Elemental HERO Neos, DEF 2000】

"I said, through this duel, I will bring you back, Yubel!" Jaden shouted. "Whether it's the power of light or the power of darkness. For this, I will release the power of this card!

The ultimate fusion card, the symbol of the Supreme King's power—"

Jaden sent a card from his hand to the Graveyard, and held another card high above his head.

"By discarding one card from my hand, activate Quick-Play Spell—

—Super Polymerization!!!"

Yubel's expression changed instantly: "Nani!?"

"Super Polymerization, can be activated by discarding one card from my hand. Fuse any monsters on either the opponent's or my own field!

And the activation of this card cannot be responded to, cannot be negated—because no card effects can be activated in response to the activation of Super Polymerization!"

The symbol of the Supreme King's true supreme power, a power that even the Supreme King himself couldn't release before merging with Jaden's soul, the ultimate fusion card, Super Polymerization!

The sky seemed to be torn apart by an invisible hand, and a pitch-black vortex slowly opened overhead. The bottomless black hole seemed to connect to another world. The air began to tremble with the activation of this spell, and the eardrums of both sides buzzed. Rubble and dust were swept up by an invisible force, as if the very foundation of the world was being attracted to that black hole vortex.

"I perform a Super Polymerization on 'Elemental HERO Neos' on my field and 'Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare' on your field!"

Jaden said.

"Remember, Yubel! Remember your mission, our past, our vows, and then return to my side!"

Yubel's eyes flickered, and her eyes gradually became unfocused.

Our past, our vows...

In a trance, she really saw flashbacks of the past.

In a white light, under the blue sky, she saw her past self, and beside her was the boy with the power of the Supreme King whom she had vowed to protect with her life. The boy said with a crying voice: "I vow, my love belongs to you forever, Yubel, until the end of life, until forever."

Yubel gently stroked the boy's head and said: "I also vow to always protect your side, no matter when, no matter where."

"..."

Yubel: "..."

The storm grew stronger, and the boundless gravity sucked the tragic nightmare dragon on the field and Neos on Jaden's side into it, merging them into one.

"Fusion Summon!" Jaden shouted. "Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman!!!"

【Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman, ATK 3000】

If You Xuan were here, he would find that this wasn't even the "Neos Wiseman" that Jaden summoned in the final boss battle of GX, but a further evolved form of Neos Wiseman, a card that didn't appear in the anime but was later supplemented in the physical card game, Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman.

Of course, like Neos Wiseman, the fusion material requirements for Neos Wiseman are actually Neos plus Yubel; using Yubel's evolved form is a violation in the physical card game's language.

But Super Polymerization in the anime is an artifact that transcends rules. Or rather, physical card players need to have the fusion monster first and gather the specified fusion materials to fuse.

But the Supreme King in the anime just grabs two fusion materials, uses Super Polymerization to fuse them, and then prints the fusion monster on the spot.

(Content omitted)

This is why Super Polymerization is called the "Ultimate Fusion Card" by the Supreme King, capable of fusing all things, without material limits, without enemy or friend limits. It was even proven in the final battle between Jaden and Yubel that it could even fuse the heavens and dimensions, and even the souls of the duelists themselves, making it the ultimate fusion card that literally transcends the rules.

"Bastard..."

Although Yubel's body was still standing on the opposite side of the duel field, her body was swaying, like an empty shell with its soul drawn out.

The voice coming from it was no longer Yubel's, but a more turbid voice.

The Wicked God.

"To think you used the power of a card to draw out the soul, leaving me only an empty shell?" The Wicked God's voice said angrily. "I underestimated you. Among humans today, there are still duelists who can control such powerful cards...

Then let me take the power of that card as well!"

"Sorry, that won't work." Jaden said coldly. "Battle!

Use Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman to attack the evil consciousness inside Yubel directly!"

At this time, the Ultimate Nightmare had been absorbed by Super Polymerization, and the opponent's field had become empty. Neos Wiseman's strike would complete the final kill!

But the Wicked God also let out a roar: "Activate face-down card! Trap card - Back to the Front, Special Summon a monster from the Graveyard in Defense Position!

The one I want to summon is, of course, myself—"

The world darkened, and thunder descended from the dark clouds. The demon god who erases all things woke up again from the abyss.

Wicked God Eraser, descend!

【Wicked God Eraser, DEF?】

As the Wicked God himself was summoned, the power radiating from Yubel's empty shell also increased, which seemed to be of considerable help to the Wicked God's control of this body.

"Eraser's DEF is also determined by the number of cards on the opponent's field." The Wicked God said. "You have the Continuous Trap 'Soul Su Sheng' left on the field for summoning Neos, and you have Malicious Bane and Neos Wiseman, so my DEF is 3000!"

【Wicked God Eraser, DEF 3000】

Neos Wiseman could not break through this ATK.

Of course, Malicious Bane could break through, but even if it attacked, it would trigger Eraser's effect, and all cards on the field would be sent to the Graveyard. And this effect is "sent to the Graveyard" rather than "destroyed," so even if Malicious Bane had destruction resistance, it would not be spared.

Eraser smiled coldly.

Of course, even if it didn't attack, the result would be the same. The Wicked God Special Summoned by a card effect would be sent to the Graveyard at the end of the turn, and all cards on the field would still be sent to the Graveyard. In this way, Jaden would have to face the next turn of the Wicked God with an empty field.

It's over.

But Jaden said: "Battle continues. Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman, attack 'Wicked God Eraser'."

Eraser: "?"

Attacking even though he knows it's meaningless?

This kid wants to...

"Watch closely, Wicked God." Jaden said lightly. "This is our bond that transcends reincarnation—me, the Supreme King, and Yubel. This power is enough to break even a God.

Elemental HERO Neos Wiseman's effect: when this card battles an opponent's monster, before damage calculation... inflict damage to the opponent equal to that monster's ATK!"

Wicked God: "!!!"

ATK value, Nani!?"

"Eraser's ATK at this moment is 3000, so, I inflict 3000 damage to you!" Jaden shouted. "Disappear!"

The Wicked God let out a wild roar, and Neos Wiseman's whole body erupted with countless blue beams. The dense flashes almost shrouded the Wicked God, connecting into a curtain of light that covered the sky, blasting toward the Wicked God with great momentum.

A strike that pierced the clouds, the pale blue pillar of light was like a pillar of heaven, piercing the dark clouds and dispelling the darkness.

【Yubel (Wicked God Eraser), LP 1400 → LP 0】
