Chapter 73: Author
Unless something unexpected happens, the book will be going live after 8 PM tomorrow night.
Currently, the serial read count has exceeded ten thousand; even before going live, it surpassed the serial read count of Duel City. This book has held the number one spot on the new book ranking for a full week. My editor said he hopes I can hit over ten thousand first-subscription orders—I was stunned.
Duel City was the only Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic ever to achieve an average subscription count over ten thousand; that already felt like a dream. Now it seems this one might actually hit ten thousand first-subscription orders—I never imagined there were so many hidden Yu-Gi-Oh! fans out there.
So far, across the entire platform, only 162 books in total have earned the “First Subscription Over Ten Thousand” badge. Whether this becomes the first Yu-Gi-Oh! book to claim that badge depends entirely on you, Duelists.
Tomorrow’s update will be at least ten thousand characters, and I’ll try for twenty thousand. Of course, I’d love to post ten updates in one day, but I simply don’t have enough saved drafts. Readers who’ve followed since the beginning know that because I always try to finish all my card plays in a single day, I rarely managed to stockpile many drafts during the new book period. For the same reason, the word count is about to surpass two hundred thousand, forcing me to leave the new book ranking early—damn, it looks like I can only hold onto number one for these next couple of days.
But the surge in updates won’t end after just one day—I’ll keep trying my best to maintain multiple updates. I know you guys hate waiting until the next day for card matches, so I’ll still strive to finish regular duels in a single day. But for key battles like boss fights, where a single match might span tens of thousands of characters, it’s simply impossible to write that much in one day—after all, card novels need to occasionally feature extended duels.
I’ll say no more. Instead of straining to write a few extra lines of gratitude, I’d rather go write another chapter for tomorrow’s bonus update.
Tomorrow night at eight, please subscribe and vote for monthly tickets, brothers!
