Chapter 765: The Duel of the Future

Looking at the fighting spirit reignited in Paradox's eyes, even Mokuba in the audience couldn't help but flash a different color in his eyes.

This person... even like this, he still wants to continue fighting?

He really didn't expect it.

Fujiki You Xuan's seal had been completed, and in Mokuba's view, it was basically a dead end. Paradox couldn't do anything anymore, and even if he continued, it would just be asking for humiliation.

But looking at this person's eyes through the surveillance screen, they were definitely not the eyes of someone who had lost hope and was struggling at the last minute.

That was a determined warrior, moving forward firmly even in the absolute darkness where it was almost impossible to turn around, as if he could see the direction of light through the darkness of despair.

But with magic and traps sealed and monsters unable to be summoned, what else could he do?

"I cannot lose, I must not lose no matter what kind of despair I face!" Paradox shouted. "I carry the weight of the entire world, what is this level of locking!?"

"Activate Magic card from hand—"

"—Special Hurricane!"

The magic card image appeared in Paradox's back field, rolling up a storm that went straight into the sky. White lightning circled the hurricane, roaring mightily toward Fujiki You Xuan's field.

Paradox: "Special Hurricane, activate by discarding a hand card. Destroy all Special Summoned monsters on the field!"

Under the storm, the angels seemed to be swaying, and in the hurricane surrounded by thunder, there seemed to be sharp eyes staring at the angels. Fujiki You Xuan said: "Archlord Kristya was Special Summoned through the effect of 'Court of Heaven', and 'Splendid Jin Xing' was also the same."

"If Special Hurricane passes, the two key angels of this lineup will be destroyed."

"However..."

He glanced at the trap in his back field.

"Under the effect of Royal Decree, all magic effects are negated."

Sure enough, the hurricane dimmed before it could reach Fujiki You Xuan's field, and the thunder and storm were difficult to release under the invisible ban, like a beast locked in a cage letting out an unwilling roar.

But Paradox must have known this, he wouldn't do meaningless things.

"I know!" Paradox shouted. "The effect of Special Hurricane will be negated, that's true. But 'discarding a hand card to activate' is the activation cost of Special Hurricane, and the activation cost cannot be negated!"

Fujiki You Xuan understood: "The goal is the discarded hand card?"

"Correct!"

Paradox shouted.

"The card I discarded is, 'Fabled Beast Cerburrel'!"

A small monster like a black cat from the demon world jumped out onto Paradox's field like a ghost.

"Fabled Beast Cerburrel, when this card is discarded from the hand to the graveyard, you can destroy any card on the field!"

Institute crowd: "!"

"There's this move too!" Mokuba was also shocked.

Yeah, even if all magic and traps are negated, the cost of activation still has to be paid. Using the activation cost to discard monsters from the hand and trigger the monster's card-destroying effect...

Without summoning monsters or activating magic and traps, he found the loophole in this lock with just a cost.

This guy is not an ordinary duelist either...

"Not bad." Fujiki You Xuan also praised. "You could even find a chance to counterattack like this."

Well, although suddenly taking out a Fabled Beast also felt like printing a card on the spot, everyone is a Fate Power warrior, so it's not strange to print a card on the spot if the mood is right. And Cerburrel's effect destroys a card as long as it's discarded, and it's also a tuner, so it's not impossible to be considered a generic card; maybe he really brought it.

"However, you only gained the chance to destroy one card." Fujiki You Xuan said. "How about it? Which one do you want to destroy? Decree? Or Decree?"

"No, the card I want to destroy is, 'Splendid Jin Xing'!"

Paradox gave an order, and the ghost black cat had already pounced fiercely, crashing into Jin Xing. Jin Xing exploded with a boom, turning into a falling ball of light, like a comet falling.

"Splendid Jin Xing is destroyed, and the monster effect protecting magic and traps is also invalid." Fujiki You Xuan said lightly. "In this way, Royal Decree negates my own 'Royal Decree'." Fujiki You Xuan smiled: "Thinking of this idea, huh."

"Correct, and if Decree is negated, magic cards can be used!"

Paradox raised another card in his hand.

"Magic card—"

"—Card of Sanctity!"

"Both players draw cards from the deck until their hands become six cards!"

Fujiki You Xuan smiled while drawing cards: "It seems it's finally getting better."

Paradox snorted and just drew cards silently without paying attention to him. 【76

"Quick-Play Spell, 'Twin Twisters'!" Paradox declared. "Discard one card from my hand and select up to two Spell or Trap cards on the field.

Destroy all of those cards!"

He pointed at the two major Traps in Fujiki You Xuan's back row.

Boom!

"Imperial Order and Royal Decree—destroy them all!"

Two tornadoes rose up in unison, sweeping toward the two cards in Fujiki You Xuan's back row respectively. Watching both Royal seals being shredded in the storm, Paradox felt as if a heavy stone had finally fallen from his heart, and even the breath in his chest seemed to flow much more freely.

"With Order and Decree both destroyed, the Spell and Trap lock is completely lifted," Paradox shouted. "Furthermore, my Continuous Trap 'Skill Drain' has become effective again!

Therefore, the monster effect of 'Archlord Kristya' is negated by 'Skill Drain.' In other words, the seal on Special Summoning monsters is also lifted!"

Mokuba: "Incredible, this guy... he really broke through the layers of locks to this extent in a single turn."

He felt even more suspicious in his heart.

What kind of background does this guy who traveled through time have to be this powerful?

Paradox paused for a moment, then sneered.

"I have to admit, you have indeed brought me quite a bit of trouble. So, as a special reward, I'll let you witness the shadow of the future Duel Realm."

Another card automatically popped out from the Extra Deck slot of his Duel Disk; he caught it in his hand and sent it to the Graveyard.

"I send 'Stardust Dragon' from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard to Special Summon this card from my hand! Come forth—

—Malefic Stardust Dragon!"

A white light shot into the sky, as if the brilliance of the stars in the sky had gathered into a stream of silver light. The light transformed into a path leading the way, and the noble, silver-white dragon, stained with the aura of darkness, spread its star-glittering wings and descended in a swirl!

【Malefic Stardust Dragon, ATK 2500】

"Then, I Normal Summon 'Malefic Parallel Gear'."

【Malefic Parallel Gear, ATK 0】

"Level 2, Tuner monster 'Malefic Parallel Gear'!

Level 8, 'Malefic Stardust Dragon'!

I tune these two monsters!"

Paradox raised his hand and laughed loudly.

"Synchro Summon!"

Everyone at the research institute, including Mokuba, was instantly wearing a confused expression.

Syn... what the heck is that?
