Chapter 767

The effect of Stardust, Starlight Road!

"When an effect that would destroy a card is activated, the effect of Stardust Dragon can be activated," Paradox shouted. "Tribute Stardust Dragon itself to negate the activation of the destruction effect and destroy it!"

"I tribute Stardust Dragon to negate the activation of 'The Wicked Avatar's Great Disaster' and destroy it!"

Mokuba asked in surprise, "Eh? Even though Skill Drain negates all monster effects, on what grounds can he activate it?"

You Xuan explained through the headset, "Stardust Dragon's effect requires tributing itself as a cost to activate. By the time the effect is processed, Stardust Dragon has already been tributed to the Graveyard. Skill Drain can only negate the effects of monsters on the field; naturally, it cannot negate Stardust in the Graveyard."

Mokuba was stunned.

Eh? Is that so?

So it wasn't a ruling error...

Stardust Dragon let out a loud roar, its body turning into points of light and dissipating. A transparent starlight barrier quickly spread across the field, and the storm of the trap's explosion slammed into that starlight barrier, being completely negated.

"Destruction effects are useless," Paradox sneered. "As long as Stardust Dragon is here..."

But before he could finish his sentence, his pupils suddenly contracted.

Only to see that above the Stardust's sacrificial barrier, boundless blue radiance was released. The blue light, so piercing that one could barely keep their eyes open, formed a transparent barrier spanning You Xuan's field.

That is...

Mirror Force!

Paradox's expression changed drastically: "You guy... you have more than one trap!?"

"Correct, a double trap."

You Xuan smiled and pointed to the other set card already activated in the back row.

"Trap card 'Mirror Force'!"

"When an opponent's monster declares an attack, destroy all Attack Position monsters on the opponent's field!"

Pausing for a moment, You Xuan added.

"I activated The Wicked Avatar's Great Disaster first, and you chained the effect of Stardust Dragon to negate it. Mirror Force's effect was then chained after Stardust Dragon."

"At this time, Stardust Dragon has already been tributed, so you cannot use Stardust's ability to negate Mirror Force again. Therefore, Mirror Force resolves successfully."

Paradox's expression was gloomy.

This bastard...

The effect of The Wicked Avatar's Great Disaster is to destroy all monsters on both sides of the field, while Mirror Force only unilaterally destroys the opponent's field. In terms of pros and cons, Mirror Force is undoubtedly superior, yet the opponent chose to activate The Wicked Avatar's Great Disaster without hesitation.

There is only one explanation: The Wicked Avatar's Great Disaster was a trap activated from the very beginning to lure him into using Stardust Dragon's effect.

In other words, this person absolutely knows Stardust Dragon's effect clearly!

But how is this possible?

Stardust Dragon is a monster that only appeared many years later; it is a Synchro Monster. In this era, even the concept of Synchro Summoning doesn't exist yet, so how could this person know Stardust Dragon!?

But regardless, Mirror Force had already been activated. The overbearing energy surged back from the reflective barrier, having already blown Paradox Dragon into fragments.

Paradox stood with a dark face beneath the smoke and fire of the explosion.

"... I underestimated you," Paradox said in a low voice. "You might be even more important than I thought."

He really thought so now.

Fujiki You Xuan, a person he had no impression of in the original history he remembered. But this person knows things far beyond common sense, and his dueling is equally bizarre.

The reason why the future perpetual motion machine had problems was actually caused by humans themselves.

The perpetual motion machine needs to be nurtured by the passion of duelists. When Synchro Summoning first appeared, everyone had fiery enthusiasm for Synchro and dueling, and the perpetual motion machine responded to the positive passion of the duelists to generate endless energy, bringing hope and a future.

But as time passed, people gradually forgot that enthusiasm. Negative and passive emotions polluted the perpetual motion machine, causing it to reverse, leading to a devastating explosion, causing a global chain reaction, coupled with resource depletion and war looting, ultimately completely burying human civilization.

Rather than saying the culprit was the perpetual motion machine, it is better to say the root cause was the disappearance of duelists' passion and the pollution of the perpetual motion machine by negative attitudes.

And at this very moment, facing the King of Games in front of him, Paradox felt that this person was simply a negative emotion production machine!

Paradox had no doubt that the passion of 99% of the duelists who played cards with this person would likely be reduced by more than half. This person is a cancer in the dueling world, a walking black hole, a source of evil and dark pollution. He even suspected for a moment, could it be this guy who caused the world's destruction!?

"Hmm?"

You Xuan touched his chin, looking at Paradox strangely.

Why does it suddenly feel like the killing intent is stronger...

Although it's normal to be a bit angry after falling into his own chain trap and getting cleared, it always feels like this person's killing intent has exceeded the normal scope.

It feels like...

Yes, it's like seeing an irreconcilable enemy, showing a fierce look of "either you die or I die today."

Am I that excessive?

"I cannot lose..."

Paradox gritted his teeth and said.

"We are people who have nothing, and have nothing left to lose. At least, I must protect... this final belief!"

Paradox let out a roar and raised his arm high.

His final set card was also flipped open.

!

"Activate set card, Trap card—"

"—Sin Paradigm Shift!" (Original card)

The trap card was flipped open, and the card art showed a golden dragon shadow!

"When 'Sin Paradox Dragon' on your field is destroyed, pay half your Life Points to activate!"

【Paradox, LP 2500 → LP 1250】

"From your hand, Deck, or Graveyard, Special Summon the ultimate 'Sin'!"

Paradox spread his arms.

"The ultimate 'Sin', which is also the incarnation of my will, merge with me and descend into this world of sin—"

"—Sin Truth Dragon!!!"

Paradox's final trump card, a golden hurricane blew up on the field, and a golden dragon shadow emerged in the storm. The moment the golden giant dragon descended, even the virtual space of Sin seemed to be plated with a golden edge.

And when he said "merge with me," he really wasn't joking, nor was it an exaggerated rhetorical device.

Paradox himself really merged into the body of Truth Dragon!

Just like how Mr. Kaiba's lower body was merged into the head of Winged Dragon of Ra in the past, Paradox's lower body was also fused into a part of Truth Dragon, with only his upper body protruding from above the golden dragon head.

It seems this dragon is really the incarnation of his obsession.

【Sin Truth Dragon, ATK 5000】

"Sin Truth Dragon, attack 'Archlord Kristya'!"

Paradox launched an attack once again. This time, You Xuan's back row had nothing left, and it seemed he had no more means to defend against the attack.

Truth Dragon fired at full power, and a fiery red ball of light shot out from its mouth. The tyrannical energy pierced Kristya's chest, leaving a huge hole in the Archlord's chest and abdomen, turning into a ball of light and shattering into pieces.
