Chapter 781: Magnet

"Direct Attack of the Sun Dragon—Inti!"

Godwin waved his hand and gave a loud order.

The sun at the center of the Sun Dragon ignited rapidly; endless flames spread from that sun into the mouths of the four dragons, merging into a blazing torrent that surged toward Fujiki You Xuan's exposed field.

Fujiki You Xuan snapped his fingers.

"Activate the Trap Card 'Earth Captor'," Fujiki You Xuan said. "When your opponent declares a direct attack, you may activate it: halve the battle damage you would take." (Original card)

Boom!

The trap released a semi-transparent barrier; the Sun Dragon's flame was neutralized by the barrier before striking Fujiki You Xuan. The explosion's shockwave lifted his coat, and the force pushed him back half a step.

"The Dark Duelist's Dark Duel Shock," Fujiki You Xuan brushed the dust off his body and said. "The sensation isn't bad."

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP4000→LP2500】

"And after this battle damage is calculated, if the battle damage you take is over 1000," Fujiki You Xuan said, "I draw one additional card from my deck."

Fujiki You Xuan drew a card.

Godwin said: "I'll set one card face-down. End my turn."

As he finished speaking, the Moonshadow Dragon—Kilya emitted a faint blue glow. The four dragon heads slowly sank with the lunar core, as if sinking directly into the Underworld and vanishing from sight.

"The effect of the Moonshadow Dragon—Kilya," Godwin said calmly. "If the Moonshadow Dragon remains on the field at the end of my turn, it is automatically destroyed." (Original effect)

Although the Moonshadow Dragon—Kilya has been real-carded, it differs significantly from the anime. The real card lacks the bizarre Dark Synchro summoning method and the unscientific negative-level Dark Synchro monsters. Thus, the real-card version was redesigned as a standard Level-6 Synchro, with numerous adjustments to its effect.

"I just heard you say you're arranging someone to eliminate Fudou Yusei."

Fujiki You Xuan asked calmly.

"Why?"

In the current plot, Fudou Yusei has been arrested and imprisoned by the Public Security Bureau. In the original, Godwin deliberately released Yusei to gather the five Dragon Emblems and ordered him to enter his Lucky Cup tournament.

If not for that purpose, Godwin could have killed Yusei at this stage with ease.

"This isn't your world. None of your business," Godwin said to him coolly.

Fujiki You Xuan said: "Then does an entity from another world coming to my world to release the Three Forbidden Gods not constitute an invasion?"

Godwin slightly frowned.

"I don't understand what you're saying," Godwin said, having no intention to continue. "Your turn. Duel continues. For a dying man, I have no obligation to tell you anything else."

"So confident?" Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "You say that, and I'm even more eager now."

"Then my turn. Draw."

Fujiki You Xuan immediately revealed the card drawn by the junk dealer's effect last turn.

"Activate the Spell Card 'Name Deduction'."

"Your opponent declares a monster level. Then you flip cards from the top of your deck until you reveal a monster that can be Normal Summoned."

"If that monster's level matches the declared level, all flipped cards are sent to the graveyard."

"If it doesn't match, that monster is Special Summoned, and all remaining flipped cards are sent to the graveyard."

Fujiki You Xuan made a "go ahead" gesture.

"Come on, declare a level," Godwin thought little of it: "Level four."

In uncertainty of the opponent's deck composition, Level four is typically declared.

"Alright. I'll flip."

Fujiki You Xuan flipped five cards in one go.

The five cards were Kigantis, Rock Spirit—Titan, Giant Rock Dragon, Magnetic Warrior—Electromagnetic God, and one Trap Card.

Though four of them are monsters, none satisfy the prerequisite of "can be Normal Summoned."

Kigantis and Rock Spirit require banishing one Earth monster from the graveyard to Special Summon from hand; Giant Rock Dragon can be Special Summoned by banishing any Earth monster from the graveyard, then its ATK becomes 700 times the number of banished monsters. Electromagnetic God is a classic monster of Motoyugi, requiring three Magnetic Warriors to be sent to the graveyard for Special Summon.

Godwin frowned as he watched.

Is it coincidence that so many monsters can't be Normal Summoned?

"Sixth card," Fujiki You Xuan revealed the sixth card drawn: "'Magnetic Warrior—Gamma.' This card can be Normal Summoned, but it's Level Three. Unfortunately, you didn't declare it."

"Therefore, Magnetic Warrior—Gamma is Special Summoned."

A crackling current erupted across the field, revealing a small green Magnetic Warrior, waving a massive fist.

!

【Magnetic Warrior—Gamma, DEF 2000】

Magnetic Warrior is the upgraded evolution of Motoyugi's classic monster, "Magnetic Warrior."

This was also a long-standing project initiated by Fujiki You Xuan's team dedicated to researching Motoyugi's deck, and recent progress has yielded substantial results. Before this interdimensional journey, Fujiki You Xuan brought over the completed cards.

At this point, Fujiki You Xuan already possesses multiple upgraded variants of Motoyugi's classic cards and can fully construct a modernized hybrid version of the Table Game deck.

Today marks the debut of the Magnetic Warrior in actual battle.

"When Magnetic Warrior—Gamma is Summoned or Special Summoned, you may Special Summon one other Magnetic Warrior monster of Level Four or lower from your hand."

Fujiki You Xuan revealed another Magnetic Warrior from his hand.

"Special Summon 'Magnetic Warrior—Beta'!"

It closely resembles the original Beta used by Game in DM, but with a new color scheme: its main body, once yellow, is now red.

【Magnetic Warrior—Beta, ATK 1500】

"Magnetic Warrior—Beta's effect," Fujiki You Xuan said. "When Beta is Summoned or Special Summoned, you add one other Magnetic Warrior monster of Level Four or lower from your deck to your hand."

Fujiki You Xuan's deck automatically searched, then ejected a card. He drew it; the deck immediately shuffled itself again.

"Add 'Magnetic Warrior—Alpha' from the deck."

Fujiki You Xuan searched and revealed another Magnetic Warrior.

Alpha, Beta, Gamma—these three were the classic trio from Game's hand. But in the original versions, they were all blank, ordinary monsters; now, they've been modernized, each given new armor and new effects.

"Magnetic Warriors need a Magnetic Field," Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Activate the Field Spell—"

"—Hyper Electromagnetic Field!"
