Chapter 861

"So it ends like this."

Fujiki You Xuan appeared regretful.

"It seems my expectations for the Machine Emperor were too high."

Placido behind the scenes was so angry his teeth itched, and he said coldly: "You will regret your arrogance."

Placido was originally the most irritable of the Emperor Taiyi trio, with extremely high self-esteem. After being defeated by Yusei once in the original work, he considered it a great humiliation and insisted on dueling Yusei again.

Now, being taunted like this by an unknown guy, how could Placido endure it?

"My turn, draw."

Fujiki You Xuan said.

"First, flip the first face-down monster.

Apprentice Magician!"

A blonde female magician in a blue robe appeared from the flipped card, nimbly spinning her staff in her hand.

【Apprentice Magician, ATK 400】

"Next, I activate the Equip Spell 'Wonder Wand' from my hand," Fujiki You Xuan said. "Equip 'Wonder Wand' to 'Apprentice Magician'.

This card can only be equipped to a Spellcaster-type monster, and the equipped monster's ATK increases by 500 points."

Light points condensed into a golden staff, appearing in the apprentice magician's hand, and the magic power added a faint golden energy layer around her body.

【Apprentice Magician, ATK 400 -> ATK 900】

"Then, Wonder Wand's other effect. Send the wand and the equipped monster to the Graveyard, and I draw two cards from my deck."

The wand's energy activated, turning the apprentice magician and itself into light points that dissipated. Fujiki You Xuan drew two cards.

"Then flip the other monster, 'Magician of Faith' flip summon!"

This time, it was a young female magician with purple hair.

【Magician of Faith, ATK 300】

"When Magician of Faith is flipped, add one Spell Card from the Graveyard to my hand," Fujiki You Xuan said. "I return the Equip Spell 'Wonder Wand' from the Graveyard to my hand.

Then, I equip it to the 'Magician of Faith' on the field again from my hand!"

【Magician of Faith, ATK 300 -> ATK 800】

"Next, once again, activate the effect of Wonder Wand!" Fujiki You Xuan waved his hand. "Send Wonder Wand and the equipped 'Magician of Faith' to the Graveyard, and draw two more cards from the deck!"

The wand and the magician once again turned into light points and dissipated, and the ability activated accordingly. Fujiki You Xuan drew two more cards.

Placido might have been jealous seeing him draw cards crazily, and muttered: "Playing petty tricks."

"It's not over yet." Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "With this, both Apprentice Magician and Magician of Faith have gone to the Graveyard, and the preparations are almost complete."

Placido's expression changed slightly: "Preparations?"

Fujiki You Xuan slowly drew a card from his hand.

"Well, it's been a while since I let you take the field; the Machine Emperor is a decent opponent, so I might as well take this opportunity to catch my breath..."

As he spoke, he held the card in his hand high.

"Banish the LIGHT 'Magician of Faith' and the DARK 'Apprentice Magician' from the Graveyard!

Sacrifice the souls of light and darkness to the Chaos Field, the legendary warrior descends here! Heaven and Earth open—

—Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, descend!"

The two magicians transformed into two beams of light, one light and one dark, golden holy light and dark purple currents, intertwining crazily in the air like two ancient giant pythons, exploding with thunderous force the moment they collided with the void.

The center of the Chaos vortex seemed to collapse into a singularity of absolute darkness, followed by a supernova explosion in the next second. Countless light particles reorganized rapidly, condensing into a breastplate with golden patterns, followed by arm guards flowing with stardust. The Chaos cyclone forged a silver blade in the thunder, leaving shattered space-time cracks wherever the sword edge passed.

Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, summon!

【Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, ATK 3000】

"Black Luster Soldier!?"

Placido was even more shocked.

The strongest warrior from the legends of the early years, whose traces were lost somewhere in the long river of Duel Realm history, is an out-of-print, super-rare card in this dimension.

Not only does this person hold Stardust Dragon, but he actually has Black Luster Soldier!

Placido's face was gloomy: "Who exactly are you?"

"I am Rex Goodwin, Director of the Sector Security, the guardian of this city." Fujiki You Xuan said solemnly, "I will not allow any of your conspiracies to touch this city!"

Placido: "..."

Are you seriously getting into character?

Fujiki You Xuan then looked at the core summoned by the opponent.

"Wisdom Core is once per turn, it seems it cannot be destroyed by battle." Fujiki You Xuan said.

Placido gritted his teeth.

This bastard even knows this...

"Then let's use this move." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, effect activate.

Once per turn, I can banish one monster on the field!"

Fujiki You Xuan pointed at the Wisdom Core on the opponent's field.

"Banish 'Wisdom Core'!

Beginning Dimension Slash!"

Black Luster Soldier swung the sword in his hand. It was a sword that opened heaven and earth; the barriers of the dimension along the way were torn open, and the sword light slashed straight toward the core on the opponent's field.

"Not so easy!" Placido shouted, "Activate set card, Trap Card 'Raigeki Break'!

Discard one card from my hand, I can destroy one card on the field!"

Placido sent a card from his hand to the Graveyard.

"Destroy the 'Wisdom Core' on my own field!"

Black clouds appeared in the sky, and a giant demon hand reached out from within, shooting lightning from its fingertips straight toward the core on Placido's field.

"So persistent in wanting to destroy your own Wisdom Core." Fujiki You Xuan said.

Raigeki Break itself is a card-disadvantage trap; Raigeki Break itself plus the cost of discarding a card from the hand, normally trading for one of the opponent's cards is a one-for-two. And since the opponent is so obsessed with blowing up their own core, spending two cards to blow up their own card is a net loss of three cards.

However, considering that blowing up the core is the only way for the entire Machine Emperor deck to develop, regardless of whether it's a loss or not, it must be blown up; otherwise, the deck has no basic combat power, and there is no concept of whether it's a loss or not.

And if one must say, although the Machine Emperor in the anime looks like one monster, it is actually composed of five cards combined; if the core is blown up, it will search for five cards from the deck. Strictly speaking, this should be a three-for-five, not only not a loss but even a bit of a gain...

Of course, that's assuming this move can go through.

Fujiki You Xuan: "Then Stardust Dragon's effect activates. When a card's effect destruction effect is activated, tribute Stardust Dragon, negate that effect and destroy it!"

Stardust Dragon flew into the air, heading straight toward the giant claw reaching out from mid-air. Stardust erupted with stardust all over its body, and the brilliant domain completely covered the destructive lightning, unable to hit the Wisdom Core even a bit.

If others were to see this, it would probably be an incredibly bizarre duel. One side is desperately trying to blow up their own monster, while the other side is sparing no effort to protect the opponent's monster even at the cost of sacrificing a big monster; such a situation is truly rare.

"Hmph, as expected!"

The giant ghost hand controlled by Placido waved.

"But the card I discarded from my hand when I activated 'Raigeki Break' was this one!

Fabled Kushano!

When Kushano is discarded from the hand to the Graveyard, select one face-up card on the field and destroy it!"

He pointed viciously at the Wisdom Core on his own field.

"Destroy 'Wisdom Core' again!"
