Chapter 866: Unleashing the Power of Legend

"Iron Knight?"

Placido frowned slightly.

He had an impression of this monster; after all, it was a relatively common low-level attacker, not a nameless figure in the history of Duel Monsters. 1800 ATK at level 4 was quite prominent among early low-level monsters, and the monster effect seemed to be... something about destroying cards equipped to it.

A monster effect that was basically ignored, it should generally be useless, and could be regarded as a level 4 vanilla.

If it were in Fujiki You Xuan's own dimension, given Fujiki You Xuan's current fame, most people would probably be shocked when they saw Iron Knight again, and at the same time, they would involuntarily start to suspect whether "that card" was about to come. But this was a new dimension after all; at this moment, Placido had already automatically ignored Iron Knight's threat, and in his heart, he had already judged it as "insignificant small fry."

"On the turn 'Concentrated Socket' is activated, other monsters on my field cannot declare an attack except for the monster that received the effect."

Placido said coldly.

"Finally, set two more cards on the field, turn end."

Fujiki You Xuan: "My turn, draw."

"Activate Spell card 'Book of Magic in the Pot', both players draw three cards from the deck."

Fujiki You Xuan replenished his hand.

"Next, Continuous Trap 'Macro Cosmos' activates again!"

Outer space dominated the field once more. Placido was not surprised by this; after all, it was a trap that had been forcibly set back last turn, and he hadn't forgotten the existence of Macro Cosmos.

Fujiki You Xuan revealed another card in his hand.

"Spell card 'Weapon Hole'."

"At the cost of the Normal Summon this turn, send one card from the top of the deck to the Graveyard, then add one Equip Spell from the deck to the hand."

Equip Spell?

Placido frowned.

At this point, he couldn't confirm what equipment the opponent wanted to take, but Iron Knight's ATK was 1800; assuming he searched for the Equip Spell 'Axe of Despair' which could increase ATK by 1000, he could counter-kill his Machine Emperor... No, wait, before that, Iron Knight's effect would destroy its own Equip Cards, so it shouldn't be able to be equipped with anything at all.

But why did he still feel so uneasy?

Intuition told him that this guy on the opposite side wouldn't make meaningless moves. Iron Knight's self-destruct effect and the Equip Spell he was about to search might have some kind of connection...

His thinking speed was fast, and he thought a lot, but it was only in an instant.

Finally, Placido gritted his teeth and decided to trust his intuition.

"'Machine Emperor Wisel ∞'s effect activates!" Placido shouted. "Once per turn, when the opponent activates a Spell card, negate that activation and destroy it!"

Wisel swung its sword, and the transparent sword Qi shattered Fujiki You Xuan's back-row Spell, and Weapon Hole exploded into fragments.

Fujiki You Xuan narrowed his eyes: "Oh? You know the Iron Knight butterfly combination?"

Placido didn't speak.

"Looking at this reaction, you don't know at all. You didn't know what I wanted to do, yet you completely relied on instinct to negate Weapon Hole. Your intuition for avoiding crises is indeed very special."

"However..."

Fujiki You Xuan paused and smiled.

"Will you regret this again when you see this?"

As he spoke, he revealed another card.

"Spell card 'Fireball'! Deal 500 points of damage to the opponent player!"

Placido almost spat out a mouthful of old blood.

No.

Is there really a normal person who would carry this kind of card?

【Placido, LP 200】

Using the cost of one card to crudely trade for 500 points of damage on the opponent is the most common and lowest-rarity burn spell on the market, but almost no one carries it.

But today, there just happened to be such a weirdo carrying it, and he, the dignified Emperor of Iliaster, actually looked like he was about to be burned to death by this thing.

Are you kidding me?

Impossible, absolutely impossible. Even if he were to lose, he couldn't possibly lose like this, being burned to death by a mere Fireball; that wouldn't be burning his life points, but his self-esteem as an Emperor of Iliaster!

"Activate set card, Trap card 'Destruction Medicine'!" Placido said. "Destroy a monster on my field and recover life points equal to the destroyed monster's ATK."

"I destroy 'Lava Golem' and recover 3000 life points equal to its ATK!"

Boom!

Lava Golem exploded under the entanglement of corrosive red light, and the exploding energy poured into his body, transforming into life points.

【Ghost, LP 200 → LP 3200】

After the life points recovered, the Fireball hit him head-on and exploded on the Ghost's face.

【Ghost, LP 3200 → LP 2700】

"A mere bug actually wants to insult me with something like Fireball?" Placido mocked. "Thanks to the Lava Golem you gave me."

"Even if I, Placido, were to die, to be smashed to pieces, I would absolutely not be defeated by something like Fireball!"

"Is that so?" Fujiki You Xuan smiled. "Then has no one taught you that you shouldn't speak too absolutely?"

Placido snorted and didn't speak.

"Then I will follow up by activating the Trap card 'Reincarnation of the Super Soldier' from the Graveyard!"

Placido was startled: "Activate a Trap card from the Graveyard?"

At this time, a trap card was already spinning out on Fujiki You Xuan's field, coming to mid-air.

"'Reincarnation of the Super Soldier' is the trap discarded to the Graveyard by 'Hand Destruction' last turn, but it cannot be activated on the turn it is sent to the Graveyard." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Banish this card from the Graveyard from the game to return one 'Chaos Soldier' monster from the Graveyard to the hand."

"I add 'Chaos Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning' to my hand."

Following that, two more cards left his Graveyard.

"Next, banish the Light-Attribute 'Silent Magician' and the Dark-Attribute 'Chaos Sorcerer' from the Graveyard from the game, the envoy of light and dark, open the heavens and earth once again—"

"—Chaos Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, summon!"

【Chaos Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, ATK 3000】

Placido looked at the Chaos Soldier who had appeared again and couldn't help but pout: "A troublesome guy is back so soon..."

However, he could still hold on.

Placido glanced at the set card in the back row.

The set card was the Trap card 'Aggressive Defense'. When the opponent declares a direct attack, halve the ATK of that attacking monster, and he could draw one card from the deck.

In this way, whether the opponent used the Great Beginning to banish the Machine Emperor from the game and then attack directly, or used the continuous attack effect to first destroy the Machine Emperor and then attack directly, he could defend against it.

And he could also accelerate drawing cards, and there would still be a chance for a counter-attack next turn...

"Looking at your expression, even when facing the legendary Envoy of the Beginning, it seems you are not afraid."

Fujiki You Xuan narrowed his eyes and smiled.

"Chaos Soldier possesses both the ability to banish monsters and the ability to attack continuously. Knowing this and still not being afraid, so to speak, that set card is likely a card that can defend when attacked, right?"

Placido: "..."

"You should be afraid."

Fujiki You Xuan shook his head and said.

"The reason you feel you have nothing to fear is only because you don't yet understand the true power of Chaos Soldier."

"Then let me show you specifically right now..."

Fujiki You Xuan smiled playfully.

"The true hidden power of why a legend is called a legend."

Placido's heart skipped a beat.

The hidden power of the legendary warrior?

Isn't Chaos Soldier's ability just what is described in the monster effect on the card?

"Activate Spell card 'Seed of Primordial'!"

Fujiki You Xuan raised his hand.

"This card can be activated when 'Chaos Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning' exists on my field."

"From the banished cards, I can return two cards to the hand."

"Banished cards?" Placido frowned. "The only cards you banished were the materials used when Chaos Soldier was summoned..."

Thinking of this, he suddenly noticed the space universe they were currently in.

Right, Macro Cosmos!

Since Macro Cosmos was activated, all cards were not sent to the Graveyard but were banished...

"That's right."

Fujiki You Xuan said calmly.

"Therefore, from the banished cards, I take these two cards..."

He shook two Spell cards.

"Return Spell card 'Weapon Hole' and Spell card 'Fireball' to the hand."

Both spells were returned to Fujiki You Xuan's hand.

"Fireball..."

Placido frowned.

Wanting to burn his 500 life points again? But now his life points were no longer hanging by a thread, so what was the point of burning them again?

"Of course, this way I can use 'Weapon Hole' to search for the butterfly combination again, and Iron Knight is still on the field, so it's a pity that you don't seem to have a chance to see this move today."

"After all, I said before, it's rare to show up after such a long time, and the protagonist today is Chaos Soldier."

Fujiki You Xuan said with a grin.

"Activate Spell card 'Fireball' once again, 500 points of damage."

【Ghost, LP 2700 → LP 2200】

Placido snorted: "Do you just want to bore me to death with this kind of thing?"

"You don't seem to understand the situation yet."

Fujiki You Xuan sighed.

"Your intuition for crisis avoidance was quite strong before, so why haven't you reacted yet?"

"As long as Chaos Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning is on the field, I can use the effect of 'Seed of Primordial' to recover banished cards."

"Then suppose..."

He smiled mysteriously and shook another card in his hand.

"I have another 'Seed of Primordial' in my hand?"

Placido was stunned.

A second... Seed of Primordial?

"Because Macro Cosmos is on the field, the cards activated just now were all banished and not in the Graveyard." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Therefore, I activate this second one from my hand."

"Spell card 'Seed of Primordial'. This time I want to return the first 'Seed of Primordial' and Spell card 'Fireball' from the banished cards to my hand."

Placido: "!!!!!!!!!"

Two Seeds of Primordial, one Fireball, Macro Cosmos...

It's over... no, wait, it's finished!

"Spell card 'Fireball', 500 points of damage." Fujiki You Xuan smiled.

【Ghost, LP 2200 → LP 1700】

Placido trembled with anger: "You, you, you, you..."

"You ask me if I'm just planning to bore you to death with Fireball? Aha, you're practically a prophet." Fujiki You Xuan chuckled. "Once again, activate Spell card 'Seed of Primordial'."

"Chaos Soldier, break through the dimension!"

Chaos Soldier remained expressionless, mechanically swinging his sword to split the dimension. The previous Seed of Primordial and the Fireball just activated fell out of the crack in the dimension again, returning to Fujiki You Xuan's hand.

Chaos Soldier: I am just a wall-breaking machine without feelings. jpg.

When the master said he wanted to let the opponent see the true power of the legendary warrior, he probably guessed what was about to happen.

Although this was a bit different from Chaos Soldier's past positioning and fighting style...

Forget it, it doesn't matter.

In short, the master seems to be having a lot of fun, as long as he is happy.

"..."

After several consecutive cycles.

"... Use Seed of Primordial to recover Fireball once again, then Spell card 'Fireball' activates!"

Fujiki You Xuan was indeed having a lot of fun.

Ultimate Technique: Infinite Fireball Hell!
