Chapter 994

"Nobleman of Extermination, destroy the face-down card you set in the middle!"

A white light of erasure from Fujiki You Xuan's Spell Card shot toward Harald's back row, but Harald didn't show any weakness.

"Sorry, but I can't let you pass so easily." Harald shouted. "Activate face-down card, Trap Card 'Fake Trap'!"

"When another Trap card on my field is about to be destroyed by a Spell, Trap, or monster effect, this card can be destroyed instead!"

The light of Nobleman of Extermination hit the trap in the center. The trap card flipped over, but when it started to be destroyed and disappear, the card art suddenly changed. After a stream of data rolled over, it turned into the Trap Card "Fake Trap," and then dissipated into golden light.

However, although it was destroyed instead, Fujiki You Xuan also saw clearly in the fleeting image before the replacement that the face-down trap card art seemed to depict the famous god-old-man, that is, the one on "Solemn Judgment."

But the god-old-man on this card art was not the classic 'don't-do-it' pose, or rather, it should be said that the 'don't-do-it' gesture was changed to a front-facing angle, with the palm radiating ten thousand rays of divine light toward the direction outside the card art.

Fujiki You Xuan remembered that card; it was a card exclusive to the Three Polar Gods in the god-old-man series of traps.

Continuous Trap - Glory of the Gods.

The physical card effect is that after activation, for two turns, one Polar God on your field gains resistance to not being selected as a target for card effects.

The anime effect is that for two turns, all Divine-Beast monsters on your field are unaffected by the opponent's Trap effects.

"Anti-trap strategy, huh." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Since you want to keep it so much, just keep it."

"At the same time, I chain 'Fake Trap' and activate Quick-Play Spell 'Emergency Provisions,' sending the activating 'Nobleman of Extermination' to the Graveyard to recover 1000 Life Points."

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP 700 → LP 1700】

"Then I activate the effect of 'Opossum.' If there is a monster on the opponent's field with higher ATK than this card, this card can destroy itself."

"Play dead!"

Opossum was already trembling in the face of the divine power of the Three Polar Gods on the opposite side, eager to hide back into the Graveyard. At this moment, having received the duelist's permission, it immediately rolled its eyes and lay on the ground like a porcelain doll.

Bang.

It exploded into golden light fragments again.

The field outside was too dangerous; it was safer in the Graveyard. It loved the Graveyard; it was warm and safe inside, and the brothers all spoke nicely, just like going home; it loved it inside.

Seeing Opossum explode, Harald's expression tightened: "Is it coming again?"

"Not bad."

Fujiki You Xuan shook a card at his fingertips and smiled.

"It seems you're already familiar with this rhythm."

"When a monster on my field is destroyed by a card effect, this card can be Special Summoned from my hand. Appear, the final Meklord Emperor—"

"—Meklord Emperor - Skiel ∞!"

The ground suddenly shook violently, accompanied by the roar of mechanical gears meshing, and a giant gully spanning more than ten meters cracked open on the ground, and a golden energy torrent gushed out from the ground crack. In this sea of boiling energy, a steel body slowly rose.

It was covered in imperial bright yellow armor, each metal plate was several meters thick, and lava-like energy veins flowed through the seams. The lower body had two giant crawler tracks, and each crawler plate emitted ultra-low-frequency vibrations that could distort the air when rotating. The heavy cannon at its arm attack part unfolded, and the mechanical sound of the barrel rotating and calibrating was like the Grim Reaper sharpening a knife. Gravel and debris all around began to float upward in violation of the laws of physics, as if paying homage to this mechanical tyrant.

【Meklord Emperor - Skiel ∞, ATK 0】

"ATK 0?" Harald was greatly surprised.

He originally thought the final Meklord Emperor should be a boss-level one; the previous two were both 1-star but had high base ATK, who knew that when it came to Skiel, it was actually 0 ATK?

"Meklord Emperor - Skiel ∞'s ATK increases by half the controller's Life Points... well, my Life Points aren't high right now, so it's just a bonus, it doesn't matter." Fujiki You Xuan smiled.

【Meklord Emperor - Skiel ∞, ATK 0 → ATK 850】

"Because what's important is the following effect—"

"—Meklord Emperor - Skiel ∞ effect activate! Once per turn, absorb one Synchro Monster on the opponent's field as an Equip Card!"

"What I want to absorb is, 'Polar God Sacred Emperor - Odin'!"

Harald's expression tightened.

It really came!

Indeed, it doesn't matter what the ATK is. As long as it can absorb a Polar God, these Meklord Emperors, one by one, are the natural enemies of their Northern Gods.

But who is Harald? As the captain of Ragnarok and the holder of the strongest Polar God, he naturally wouldn't have no response strategy given that he already knew the characteristics of the opponent's Meklord Emperor.

"Activate face-down card!"

Harald activated his back row.

"Trap Card 'Panic Wave'!"

"Destroy one card on my field to activate. This turn, the effects of all face-up Spells, Traps, and Effect Monsters on the field are negated!" (Original card)

Harald raised his arm high and pointed to Loki.

"I destroy 'God-King Loki' to negate the effects of all cards on the field!"

Loki exploded like a grand firework with a bang, but the released energy turned into invisible waves and spread to the entire field. All cards on the field instantly dimmed, the Three Polar Gods lost their divine luster, Skiel's bright yellow shell also became dim, and the capture energy chain that had just shot out dissipated into nothingness.

【Meklord Emperor - Skiel ∞, ATK 850 → ATK 0】

"Negated!" The pompadour commentator said. "Harald hasn't relaxed his countermeasures against the Meklord Emperor; if the effect is negated, the Meklord Emperor cannot absorb the Polar God as equipment!"

"And Loki, which was destroyed as a cost, can automatically revive at the end of the turn, which is equivalent to no cost... No, not only is there no cost, but when Loki revives, it can also retrieve a Trap card from the Graveyard, which is actually further earning resources for Harald!"

Teammate Brave outside the field also smiled: "This is natural, this is that Harald after all."

"Hmm." Dragan also smiled. "Harald is in a realm that even the two of us cannot reach, just like the Polar God Sacred Emperor Odin who governs the gods, Harald is also the duelist most suitable to govern the gods."

"You've already guarded against my Meklord Emperor, amazing, amazing." Fujiki You Xuan said. "Then I set three cards, turn end."

"In the End Phase, God-King Loki revives from the Graveyard!"

As Harald's voice fell, Loki had already appeared again from the crack in the sky with a strange smile on his face.

"And, return a Trap card from the Graveyard to my hand."

"The card I want to return from the Graveyard is this one..."

Harald showed the trap in his hand.

"Continuous Trap - Polar Star Treasure - Svalinn!"

"Hmm?"

Fujiki You Xuan raised an eyebrow.

This trap...
