Dai Hong quite appreciated him and thought highly of him.

Li Jing accepted the tablet and asked:

"The mission for the three of us is...?"

"Assuming that our summary of the case was correct, that group of people made a strange breakthrough into the Second Realm by being exposed to forbidden goods. However, without concrete evidence and their cooperation, we have no right to intervene."

Dai Hong explained, narrowing his eyes.

"You will attempt to contact these ’guinea pigs’ in the guise of ordinary people, try to gain their trust, and figure out their source of forbidden goods. People are inherently selfish, and some might have become channels for selling unknown forbidden goods, or even joined the Evil Cultivators. If you come across that, don’t bother them, but try to secure a sample of the forbidden goods to bring back."

Then, he added:

"Ordinary patrol officers might not be able to handle this. The people under me are used to leveraging their authority to investigate major crimes and could hardly shake off their personal habits in day-to-day life. It’s easy for them to disguise themselves as ordinary people, but when dealing with sensitive groups, their nature is easily exposed. You three just became assistant inspectors and don’t have such issues and have decent strength, making you the perfect candidates for this task."

"Understood."

Li Jing replied.

Lu Yangcheng and Yi Xiuzhu on the side also nodded one after the other.

"Figure out the approach yourselves. I can’t provide much guidance. These ’guinea pigs’ are all very sensitive due to their guilty consciences. Don’t get impatient during the process, be cautious and prepare for a prolonged fight,"

Dai Hong continued.

"People who have been in contact with forbidden goods won’t just be limited to the seventeen who went to the First Hospital. Some may have gone to other hospitals, and some may not have gone to hospitals at all. You don’t need to worry about that. The Intelligence Department and other departments are investigating. After giving a series of instructions, Dai Hong sighed.

"Figure out the rest yourselves. I need to compile a report for the chief."

With that, he left the meeting room in a hurry.

Watching Dai Hong leave, Li Jing worked the tablet in his hand to pull up the information on the seventeen targets, and then looked at Lu Yangcheng and Yi Xiuzhu.

"Do either of you have any ideas on how to contact these seventeen people?"

Yi Xiuzhu didn’t say anything, looking at the list with a thoughtful expression.

"How so?"

Li Jing tilted his head.

Lu Yangcheng opined and then continued to elaborate.

"These people risked the danger and used forbidden goods. They were probably not tricked into using it. I suspect that they used these because they were either cornered by life circumstances or not satisfied being ordinary. They specifically went to the hospital for a checkup, probably not just to confirm if they’ve broken through to the Second Realm, but also to ensure that there’s nothing wrong with their bodies. Before going to the hospital, they must have used common methods to test themselves."

While saying this, a proud smile appeared on his face.

"Consumer devices are my family’s main business, including health monitoring devices which include hundreds of different types. There’s a chance that some of these people might be our clients."

Li Jing raised his eyebrows at this.

"Can you get your company’s client information?"

"I haven’t yet inherited the business. How could I just take what I want?"

Lu Yangcheng shrugged and replied,

"I can only ask someone to check the company database."

No sooner had he finished speaking, then Yi Xiuzhu interjected.

"Can you ensure the person you’re asking can be trusted and won’t leak information?"

"Don’t worry! The person I’m finding is definitely a trustworthy one. Plus, I don’t need to explain the specifics, do I?"

Lu Yangcheng responded, pulling out his phone to open the Immortal Message app. He input the names of the seventeen people from the list and even made up more than ten nonexistent names to send to a friend.

Li Jing couldn’t help but give him a strange look when he saw him creating other fictitious names,

Lu Yangcheng raised his head after sending the Immortal Message.
