Chapter 65: Federal Craftsman Association
Early the next morning, Ma Kusi called Li Ang and Danika into the Bureau Chief's office.
After listening to Li Ang’s detailed account of what happened last night, the deep-red-skinned Bureau Chief of the Public Security Bureau immediately furrowed his brows.
Like Danika, he did not believe the City Guard Commander was the mastermind behind the scenes.
That left only two people.
The Director of the Finance Bureau, and the City Lord.
As for who it actually was, Ma Kusi already had a rough guess in his mind.
After a moment of silence, he said to the two of them: "I will go and discuss this with the City Guard Commander; you two don't need to investigate any further."
Hearing this, Li Ang immediately had an epiphany; after all, Ma Kusi’s attitude was an answer in itself.
He had no objections to the other party's arrangement; he wasn't exactly a partner of justice, after all.
If anything, Li Ang had always wanted to quietly grind for experience, yet trouble always sought him out on its own.
It wasn't that he hadn't thought about resigning, but the problem was that the requirement for becoming an unofficial citizen was to work for the Public Security Bureau; he couldn't just run off before even a month had passed.
If he really did that, Li Ang felt his status might revert to being a prisoner.
After leaving the Bureau Chief's office, Li Ang glanced at Danika, who looked relaxed beside him; she was clearly very happy about having some peaceful days ahead.
After a brief thought, he spoke up: "Captain, I’d like to take a day off today to find a new place to live."
