Chapter 109: Evil Ambitionist

~2 min read 368 words

Facing Li Ang's question, Old Tang fell silent for a moment before answering in a voice devoid of emotion: "It's just a name. Do as you please."

"Then I'll call you Old Tang."

Based on the current behavior of this King of Bronze and Fire, he still seems to accept Old Tang's former identity, meaning he won't descend into the hysteria depicted in the original story.

Then again, Konstantin hasn't suffered any mishap yet.

Things are moving in a better direction; Li Ang exhaled slightly, his tension easing.

He casually picked up the white bowl on the table, swirled the now-inert blood within, and answered Old Tang's initial question: "As you see—for the sake of gaining power."

At this, a faint ripple crossed Old Tang's icy face, and only then did he utter two words: "Fool."

In his long reign as King of Dragons, he had encountered many half-breeds seeking Dragon Clan power, yet even among them, Li Ang stood out as one of the most extreme.

After all, any half-breed with a sane mind would never directly touch the King's blood.

Most crucially, he actually succeeded.

But Old Tang did not dwell on this matter, for he harbored a greater question: "How did you learn my true identity?"

He had reviewed his memories over the years and was certain he had never met this man, and his identity as a King of Dragons had almost certainly not been exposed—otherwise, he could never have lived so peacefully this long.

Thus, Old Tang was puzzled: how had Li Ang discovered his identity, and why had he specifically used a named mission to lure him to Monterey?

"Does it matter?" Li Ang gave no direct answer. "It doesn't matter."

"Shouldn't you be more curious about how you escaped the Bronze City?"

Both Nortons and Konstantin had once cocooned themselves within the Bronze City, yet now one wandered across America, while the other remained buried in the deep, dark waters.

Li Ang didn't believe this happened without a hidden hand pulling the strings.

At this, Old Tang couldn't help but sneer: "Who else but my own 'siblings' could it be?"

Unclouded by rage, his judgment of his own situation remained sharp.
