Chapter 181: Aftermath Matters and Grabbing the Bucket to Run

~3 min read 418 words

In the cold, deathly silent void of space, a vessel—converted from some unknown colossal creature—was drifting among the stars.

In the main cabin of the vessel, a young man with grey-white hair looked at the image displayed in a crystalline eyeball before him and could not help sighing:

"A failure, as expected. The Zerg's hive-consciousness is still a bit tricky, and it's even linked to that Zerg Overmind."

The young man casually grabbed some unknown liquid beside him and took a swig to ease his fatigue: "Tch, what a hassle."

"Still, I did manage to gather a bit of experimental data—didn't waste all the effort I put in."

Saying so, he glanced at the youth in the image and could not resist ruffling his own messy hair: "An interesting little dragon whelp, wonder where it wandered over from."

"Too bad dragons aren't my research focus—I'll let you off the hook this time."

With that, the young man began operating the biological panel to his right.

Operating it, he muttered: "That Zerg Overmind is probably heading this way now. Too bad it's a Tier-7 creature—otherwise I'd really want to capture one to study."

"As for now—"

"Let's just leave it to the Federation to handle."

A moment later, accompanied by a strange surge of energy, the sizable biological vessel vanished without a trace, leaving only deathly silence in its place.

Ruins of Outpost City No. 66.

Li Ang looked at the information popping up on his class panel, and his face involuntarily darkened.

'That Brand died and still left me trouble.'

He still remembered what Lu Ke had said earlier—that the Zerg Overmind wandering this star region was a Tier-7 creature. Even if you tied every person on Colony Star 9527 together, they still couldn't beat it.

Fortunately, it should still take some time before it arrived here—enough for Li Ang to make a run for it. In other words, he was now an official citizen of the Federation; if he were still an unaffiliated citizen like before, there'd be no way to run.

'What a shame about the alchemy workshop I just built.'

Since he had to run, there was no way to take this alchemy workshop with him—he hadn't even used it that many times.

Just as Li Ang was agonizing over his money, Ma Kusi and the other two had already arrived at his side.

Danika looked at the youth who seemed to be spacing out, and asked with some concern: "Li Ang, are you alright?"
