Chapter 262: I
Through reading memories, Li Ang has already figured out what happened.
Due to the peculiar nature of plant races, some tasks are extremely inconvenient for them to perform, so they can only entrust them to humanoid beings.
The two before him are exactly such cases.
As for the Ironwood Tree clan,
they are a race under the Viceroy Duonuo; more accurately, most terrestrial plants on this planet are Duonuo's subordinates.
Li Ang now has a rough understanding of the power structure on Morabiss Star.
One faction is terrestrial plants, the other is aquatic plants.
But since Duonuo is a Level Four entity, the aquatic plants could only grit their teeth and accept him as their leader.
No wonder the Clearwater Tree treated the Ironwood Tree so poorly.
'The Earth Guardian,'
Thinking of this, Li Ang glanced through the window at the towering tree deep in the distant mountains.
This was the name of his profession, told to him by Papachi.
Neither of the two before him knew why the Ironwood Tree clan had sought him out, but Li Ang suspected it had something to do with the set of water vats he had made for the Clearwater Tree.
After all, who would want to be trapped in one place when they could roam freely?
After casually tossing the two unconscious fools inside the room onto the street, Li Ang shot into the sky, transforming into a green-and-red meteor streaking toward the Ironwood Tree clan's territory.
Fortunately, Morabiss Star does not ban flight; otherwise, he would have had to find a scheduled flight to get there.
Soon, a peculiar forest came into Li Ang's view.
Unlike other forests brimming with vitality, this one was utterly lifeless, reflecting a cold metallic sheen as if composed entirely of metal.
Li Ang hovered in midair, gazing at the colossal tree before him—identical to the one in the Ironwood Tree's memories—and said casually, "Dongdonglong?"
As soon as he spoke, a sound like metal scraping rang out: "Li Ang."
"Lord Duonuo wishes to see you."
At this, Li Ang raised an eyebrow.
He had not expected it to be the Ironwood Tree clan seeking Alchemical items—it was the planetary Viceroy who wanted to meet him.
But what could the Viceroy possibly want? Surely not to relocate?
Recalling Duonuo's size, Li Ang was momentarily speechless.
After a moment of silence, he sighed: "So you really understand nothing about human relations? If you want to see me, shouldn't you show some sincerity?"
"I'm not Duonuo's subordinate."
Upon hearing this, Dongdonglong fell silent for a moment, then manipulated a metal vine to lift several snapped branches of Ironwood Tree: "These are my broken branches. Consider them payment."
"Fine."
Though Dongdonglong's method struck Li Ang as odd, his current eyesight could easily tell these branches were decent materials.
Even if he failed to reach any deal with Duonuo, he wouldn't have come here for nothing.
After taking the branches, Li Ang flew toward the location he remembered as Duonuo's.
Dongdonglong silently watched the mysterious being leave his territory.
'Strange.'
'Better inform Lord Duonuo first.'
With this thought, Dongdonglong's consciousness traveled underground to a certain place.
……
Meanwhile.
After leaving the Ironwood Tree clan's territory, Li Ang hurried straight toward Duonuo's location.
Though he didn't know what the planetary Viceroy intended, it certainly wouldn't be a small matter.
Moments later, a towering tree gradually appeared before Li Ang's eyes.
Though he could now see Duonuo's form, there remained a great distance between them.
'This is just too big.'
Watching the trunk slowly fill his entire field of vision, Li Ang couldn't help but mutter.
Back in Central City, from afar, he hadn't felt it—but now, standing before this planetary Viceroy, he truly understood just how immense this tree was.
He glanced at the tiny figure on the ground, looking up curiously at him, and twitched his lips.
'Real businessman.'
Undoubtedly, Duonuo had become one of Morabiss Star's famous attractions; virtually every tourist came here to take photos.
After much more time passed, Li Ang finally reached Duonuo's front.
He hovered in midair and called out: "Viceroy Duonuo?"
At once, an ancient voice echoed beside Li Ang's ear: "You are Li Ang?"
"Yes. What does the Viceroy want with me?"
Li Ang nodded and asked bluntly.
In response, Duonuo chuckled: "This little thing was made by you, wasn't it?"
As he spoke, the soil beneath churned, and a filthy water vat appeared in Li Ang's line of sight.
Seeing this, Li Ang furrowed his brow slightly: "I made it. Did the Viceroy get it from Lady Hedi?"
"Heh." Duonuo did not answer, but instead asked, "How large a medium would be needed to contain a being of my size?"
Li Ang looked at the endless expanse of Duonuo and replied: "It's not possible yet. Lord Duonuo will have to wait a while longer."
It was the truth.
He had only just learned spatial creation less than half a month ago—he'd die trying to carve out a space this large.
Oh no, a space of this size should be called Nibelungen.
Lord Duonuo's voice sounded again: "How long do I have to wait?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure."
Li Ang gave no definite answer.
Lord Duonuo was simply too large; to create a Nibelungen of this scale, he estimated it would take at least several months before he could even attempt it.
He dared make this judgment only because he had a cheat—after all, even Odin had lived for countless years before carving out Avalon.
