Chapter 524: A Family Should Stay Together
As his words fell, the atmosphere froze instantly, as if the entire world had been paused, so silent that the fall of a pin could be heard.
Li Ang stood within the radiance, his face hidden behind the gentle glow emitted by the Bible God, as if what he had just said was nothing more than a trivial matter.
Upon hearing this, Sazex felt his heart sink—the situation seemed to be spiraling beyond redemption.
Though "the soul and body belonging to one person" was often merely empty rhetoric, the Red-Haired Devil King knew the one above truly had the power to accomplish this—after all, the Bible God was the best example.
What puzzled him was the phrase "even to the Underworld and Heaven"—could the other side truly intend to alternate residence between those two realms?
As Sazex pondered the meaning of those words, Michael moved.
This Archangel cast one final glance at the Creator, then prepared to lead his angels away.
He would not return to Heaven; whatever the Dragon Sovereign above wished to do henceforth was no longer his concern.
As for the survival of the angelic race,
since the Master had returned, he no longer needed to worry—he now wished only to fulfill his own will in the mortal world.
Though Michael outwardly held this thought, inwardly there lingered another, fainter intention.
If the angels who chose to return to the Master's embrace encountered trouble, he, the one who remained outside, might yet preserve the last spark of the angelic lineage.
Thinking of this, Michael's gaze flickered slightly.
Yet when he attempted to summon his power and lead the angels out of the Underworld, he found his abilities utterly sealed—no spatial passage to the outside could be opened.
But the Archangel quickly realized something, turning sharply to Li Ang and asking in a low tone: "Your Grace… what do you mean by this?"
Hearing this, Li Ang let out a light chuckle: "A family should stay together—you wouldn't want to see your Master saddened, would you?"
He certainly wouldn't let his designated powerhouse simply walk away.
In fact, among all the angels present, he valued Michael most, and Gabriel—the First Beauty of Heaven—second.
The Bible God is not an angel.
To be honest, Li Ang didn't know what criteria these angels used for their evaluation—he decided to examine it closely later.
"."
Michael fell silent, his gaze instinctively shifting to the Bible God.
The sudden turn of events made the atmosphere even more eerie.
Sazex and Azazel exchanged a glance, both seeing Solemnity within the other's eyes.
If the one above wouldn't spare Michael, he certainly wouldn't spare them.
Just as tension reached its peak, Li Ang casually told the Bible God: "Take them back first."
"What about here—"
The Bible God paused in surprise.
"I am enough on my own."
Li Ang's tone remained calm, as if he were merely stating the most ordinary of facts.
He had done this before—facing down an entire world alone. Besides, though many factions were present, none could represent the entire DXD world, since the major divine systems holding the bulk of power had yet to appear.
Upon hearing this, the angels who had returned to the Bible God's embrace immediately relaxed.
