Chapter 8: The Immortal of Great Fullness
As Li Ang interrogated the beggar, two tall men on the second floor of the tavern across from the pawnshop witnessed his feat of holding off four opponents alone.
"This kid's a real brawler," said the bespectacled man in a suit, leaning on the railing as he watched Li Ang ransacking the spoils. "Strong bones and abundant vital energy."
At this, he slightly narrowed his eyes.
By "abundant vital energy," he meant a virgin—something the glasses-wearer hadn't expected, given how old this young master seemed.
"Too bad he's a bit too old."
The man with the ability called "Divine Spirit" could sense that Li Ang's qi was as ordinary as any commoner's.
But the long-haired man beside him, with a defiant face, said nothing, only asked with a burden of worries: "How will the Sect Master help me?"
At this, the glasses-wearer's smile faded, and he tilted his chin toward two boys approaching from afar, clad in gray cultivation robes: "Those are the Zhang brothers, confirmed to have joined Sanyi Sect."
On the other side, Li Ang was unaware he had been discussed; he was counting his spoils.
To be fair, beggars are beggars—he searched every inch of the man and found only a dozen copper coins, barely enough for a single bun.
But fortunately, Li Ang had already obtained the information he needed.
"Sanyi Sect," he murmured silently, the name feeling vaguely familiar, and he couldn't help but narrow his eyes. "One Below?"
Sanyi Sect was the Xuanmenmen Sect from the manga "One Below" that Li Ang had read before his reincarnation—but if he remembered correctly, the sect had already been destroyed by the time the original story began.
Yet the original story was set in modern times, while Li Ang was now in the Republic era—so chronologically, it still made sense.
