Chapter 6

"What's wrong?" Andre noticed him suddenly freeze in place, "Did something go wrong?"

"Nothing." Luo En took a deep breath and muttered in his heart: "Confirm profession change."

The next moment, a strange energy surged from his heart, spreading to his whole body like a warm stream, making him feel as warm as if he were soaking in a hot spring.

As a "white-board" with no profession at all before, even if it was just the most basic life profession, the leap from "nothing" to "something" still caused earth-shaking changes in his body.

The originally turbid magic power gradually became clear, just like mixed iron filings suddenly gaining order after the appearance of a magnet.

His perception also underwent a subtle transformation.

Those magic elements floating in the air were no longer completely elusive existences; although still blurry, at least he could vaguely feel their existence.

The most obvious change occurred in his hands; the herbs, grass roots, and even the free magic power in the air that he had touched all left unique "marks" in his perception.

It was like a blind person suddenly gaining the concept of color; the world became rich and three-dimensional in his perception.

This degree of perception is probably the embodiment of the so-called "specialization in a trade."

The mysterious feeling lasted for several seconds, finally condensing along his blood vessels like water droplets, and finally settled around his heart, forming a vague "source point."

【Profession change successful!】

【Profession acquired: Potion Apprentice (One Star)】

【Basic attribute improvement: Spirit +0.3, Physique +0.1, Magic Power +0.2】

【Open professional skills:

1. Potion Refining (Entry)

2. Herb Identification (Entry)】

【Special Bonus:

1. Potion-related skill experience acquisition speed slightly increased

2. Spiritual power accumulation speed slightly increased

3. Magic power affinity slightly increased】

Luo En closed his eyes, feeling the changes in his body.

The originally blurry spiritual power fluctuations became clearer, just like a painting covered with a thin veil suddenly having the veil lifted.

And in the depths of his consciousness, there seemed to be a strange perception ability added.

When his attention was focused on the scorching essential oil on the table, he could actually vaguely perceive the energy flow contained within it.

"Huh?" Andre's voice suddenly sounded, "Your aura... seems different."

Luo En opened his eyes and found Andre looking at him with a somewhat puzzled expression.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know why," Andre frowned, but dared not be sure:

"I always feel that you have an extra special... temperament? Just like those high-level apprentices who specialize in potions."

Luo En's heart moved; this should be the change brought about by the profession change, not just the improvement in data, but also a mysterious change in temperament, but he still remained calm on the surface:

"Probably because I just finished configuring the potion, and my spiritual power has been tempered."

He casually rubbed his temples and prevaricated: "I feel my spirit is better than before."

Andre nodded skeptically: "Also, after all, it's your first time coming into contact with so many extraordinary materials, it's normal to have some influence."

"Speaking of which," Luo En deliberately changed the subject, "How long can the efficacy of this scorching essential oil last?"

"Generally speaking, it's about three days."

Andre yawned, "It's getting late, you can read the manuscript I gave you more when you have time. As for the specific details of body tempering, I'll come and teach you how to start tomorrow."

After the other party left, Luo En finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He couldn't wait to try the current meditation effect, adjusted his posture, and began to enter the meditative state according to the method in "Basic Meditation."

Just after closing his eyes, he noticed a huge difference—the consciousness rune that originally took a long time to depict could now be formed in just a moment.

And the form of the rune was also much more stable than before.

What surprised him even more was that the spiritual power gathered was significantly more abundant than before.

That feeling was like originally only being able to draw water with a flattened straw, but now being able to scoop it with a spoon.

【Basic Meditation Experience +1】

【Basic Meditation Experience +1】

【Today's training time has reached the limit, rest is recommended】

"This improvement..." Luo En opened his eyes, looking at the data in front of him, feeling both surprised and uneasy in his heart.

The difficulty of gaining experience from meditation must be much stronger than before; if he went to test his aptitude, he might be able to test for a higher star class.

And such a huge improvement was just because he successfully took up a life profession that had nothing to do with fighting.

"It seems I have to be more careful." Luo En muttered in his heart:

"But fortunately, those wizards are still kind to candidate apprentices; as long as you follow the rules, there will be no infringement, so there is no need to worry about the prying of high-ranking people too early."

Everything came too fast; these changes almost made him feel overwhelmed.

He felt that at this time, he especially needed to sort out the current situation and clarify the next plans and goals.

Luo En stood up and tidied up the various utensils scattered on the table.

The Black Fog Jungle in the middle of the night was exceptionally quiet, and only some vague, strange sounds could be heard from afar.

He began to take stock of the current situation in his mind:

First is the most critical, the basic attribute improvement brought by changing profession to 【Potion Apprentice】:

【Spirit 1.1 → 1.4】

【Physique 0.4 → 0.5】

【Magic Power 0.1 → 0.3】

Then there are two entry-level professional skills and three special bonuses.

"These improvements are not small, but they are still far from the standard line for breaking through to a junior apprentice." Luo En muttered in his heart.

Just as he was lost in thought, unconsciously playing with the "scorching essential oil" sealed in a small bottle, a new prompt suddenly popped up on the panel in front of him:

【Scorching essential oil detected, do you want to start using it?】

【Prompt: First use will unlock the profession change for Combat Profession - Knight Attendant ★】

"So that's it."

Luo En looked at the prompt on the panel and finally understood why Andre said he would teach him how to use it tomorrow—the timing of the first use of this body-tempering potion is particularly critical.

He carefully put away the notebook and medicine bottle, preparing to rest early.

Tomorrow, not only will he start practicing "Solar Corona Breathing Method," but he will also go to the herb shop to apply for that assistant position.

Just as he was tidying up, his peripheral vision caught a glimpse of "Fundamentals of Potions" on the bedside.

Looking back now, the decision to choose the path of potions at that time might have been destined by fate.

The attribute improvement and special bonuses brought by Potion Apprentice, as well as the various corresponding resources that can be obtained, will undoubtedly allow him to go further on both the paths of wizard and knight.

"However, the most important thing right now is to cover up these improvements."

Luo En lay on the creaky old wooden bed, looking at the general outline of the ceiling:

"At least wait until I have enough strength to protect myself; this day shouldn't be too far away..."
