Chapter 141: Two Similar Flowers

~8 min read 1,456 words

Little Dragon Maiden stopped the shopkeeper from reaching out to grab the steamed bun for her.

"Hey, alright, alright, you do it!"

Looking at the ethereal, stunningly beautiful woman before him, the shopkeeper felt a bit ashamed of his own appearance; he withdrew his hand and wiped it on his clothes.

Little Dragon Maiden reached out and grabbed a steamed bun shaped like a tiger, examined it for a moment, said "What a handsome bun," and began to eat it in small bites.

As she ate, she slowly walked away. The shopkeeper hurriedly chased after her, "Hey, Miss, you haven't paid yet!"

"Pay?"

"Yes, for the bun, two copper coins each!"

"I have no money."

Little Dragon Maiden’s expression was innocent; having descended the mountain for the first time, she did not know what money was.

"If you have no money, why are you eating buns?"

Although Little Dragon Maiden was as beautiful as a celestial being, the shopkeeper was more concerned with making a living. He ignored her beauty; even if a celestial had descended to earth, she still had to pay for his buns.

"You didn't say I had to pay!"

Little Dragon Maiden looked at the shopkeeper, lost in thought.

"Paying for buns is only natural; everyone in the world knows this. You are quite a pretty young lady, yet I didn't expect you to eat without paying!"

"I will return it to you then!"

Little Dragon Maiden handed the bun back to the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper felt that since she had touched it, he couldn't sell it anymore, so he didn't want to take it back; he only wanted her to pay. Little Dragon Maiden turned a deaf ear and prepared to leave.

Two ruffians wanted to take advantage of the situation. While they spoke of standing up for the shopkeeper, their hands had already reached for Little Dragon Maiden’s shoulders.

Little Dragon Maiden’s expression changed. She flicked her arms and knocked the two ruffians to the ground, causing the nearby bun stall to be overturned in the collateral damage.

The buns rolled all over the ground, and the nearby beggars immediately swarmed forward to scramble for them.

"Oh, my buns! You eat without paying and then hit people; I’ve truly had a run of bad luck. You beggars, get away from me!"

Little Dragon Maiden looked at the chaotic scene, feeling annoyed by the noise. She turned around, preparing to use her light-footwork to leave.

"Shopkeeper, I will pay for her share. Please don't make things difficult for these beggars!"

Suddenly, a gentle female voice came, catching Little Dragon Maiden’s attention.

She turned her head and saw a woman with her back to her, speaking to the shopkeeper.

The woman stopped the shopkeeper from driving away the beggars and handed him a ten-tael silver ingot.

The shopkeeper, beaming with joy as he took the silver, bowed and thanked her profusely. He no longer felt pained about the buns on the ground; after all, a bun was only two copper coins—how many buns would he have to sell to earn these ten taels?

When the woman turned around, Little Dragon Maiden was surprised to find that she looked eighty percent like her, as if they were twin sisters.

"Hello, my name is Miss Wuqing. You seem unversed in the ways of the world; is this your first time down the mountain?"

The woman smiled as she spoke. She was none other than Miss Wuqing, who had come out to search for Lin Fan after her legs were healed.

"Hello, Miss Miss Wuqing. I am Little Dragon Maiden; you can call me Long Er!"

The two women introduced themselves and then both froze; the names sounded familiar.

"She is Miss Wuqing, the person that Young Master Lin intends to go to the capital to find!"

"She is Little Dragon Maiden, Li Li Mochou’s junior sister, whom Lin Fan’s diary just mentioned!"

Both women had the same thought simultaneously, recognizing who the other was.

"Long Er, come with me!"

Miss Wuqing took Little Dragon Maiden’s hand and went to a restaurant, where they opened a private room and began to chat.

"Long Er, do you have a copy of the diary?"

Miss Wuqing stared intently at Little Dragon Maiden. Although Little Dragon Maiden hadn't answered yet, Miss Wuqing already had the answer in her heart, because when she spoke of the diary copy, no invisible force stopped her.

Previously, every time she tried to tell her uncle about the diary copy, she would always be stopped by an invisible force.

Little Dragon Maiden did not speak; she brushed her hand over the table, and a diary copy appeared on it.

Miss Wuqing looked over and saw it clearly written: Lin Fan’s Diary (Little Dragon Maiden Copy).

She then took out her own diary copy and placed it on the table; it read: Lin Fan’s Diary (Miss Wuqing Copy).

With a common topic and their similar appearances, the two women felt as if they had known each other for a long time, and their relationship quickly grew closer.

"Long Er, aren't you in the Ancient Tomb? Why did you come down the mountain?"

"The diary copy rewarded Zhang Zhang Sanfeng with the Ancient Tomb Sect’s supreme martial art, the Jade Maiden Heart Sutra. I must get it back!"

"But the world is vast, and the sea of people is boundless. You only know a name; how could you possibly find her?"

Miss Wuqing felt a bit helpless; was Little Dragon Maiden too naive?

She didn't know that the Little Dragon Maiden in the original trajectory would do the same thing; when she came down the mountain to look for Yang Guo, she asked everyone she met if they knew Yang Guo, never giving up even though it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

"I plan to find my senior sister for help. She is also a disciple of the Ancient Tomb Sect and should contribute to the sect's affairs!"

Little Dragon Maiden’s expression was calm. She knew it would be hard to find Zhang Zhang Sanfeng alone, but she could ask her senior sister for help.

"Then where do you plan to find your senior sister?"

"This Young Master Lin’s diary already revealed that they are in Hengyang City, Hunan. I will go there to find them!"

"Not bad, you even know to go to Hengyang City in Hunan. Although they will likely have left by the time you arrive, the most important thing is, do you know where you are now?"

Little Dragon Maiden was stunned by the first half of the sentence. If she arrived in Hengyang City and her senior sister was gone, where should she look for her?

"You want to go to Hunan, but this is Shanxi. Your Ancient Tomb Sect is on Mount Mount Zhongnan in Shaanxi. My little sister, you are going the wrong way!"

Miss Wuqing looked at the innocent-looking Little Dragon Maiden and felt a bit weary. She knew nothing, couldn't even recognize the road, yet dared to run out of the Ancient Tomb Sect to find Li Li Mochou.

If she hadn't met her, would this little sister have walked all the way to the Mongolian grasslands?

Miss Wuqing was older, and since the two looked like twin sisters, she had already assumed the role of the older sister.

"I went the wrong way? Then I will just walk back!"

Little Dragon Maiden didn't have much of a reaction upon hearing she had gone the wrong way; she simply decided to walk back.

"Long Er, come with me. Lin Fan is coming to the capital to find me, and I am also heading toward Hunan. We should run into them on the road. If you follow me, you can find Lin Fan and your senior sister; otherwise, I’m afraid you’ll get lost alone!"

"Many thanks, Miss Miss Wuqing!"

"I am older than you, so you should call me Sister Miss Wuqing; no need to be so distant!"

"Sister Miss Wuqing!"

Little Dragon Maiden nodded with a cold expression; there were rarely emotional fluctuations on her face.

"Long Er, are you still cultivating your Ancient Tomb Sect’s Twelve Lesser Thoughts Technique?"

Miss Wuqing frowned as she looked at the cold Little Dragon Maiden. If it were just a cold personality, that would be fine, but if the cultivation technique caused a lack of emotion, that would be bad.

"Mm."

"Lin Fan has already said that the Twelve Lesser Thoughts Technique has problems. Why are you still cultivating it?"

"I'm used to it!"

Little Dragon Maiden looked at Miss Wuqing innocently, making the words of reprimand Miss Wuqing wanted to say impossible to utter.
