Chapter 27: Gu Ran is Threatened

On the other side, Gu Ran was completely stunned; she subconsciously raised her hand to shield her eyes, while the host's excited voice reached her ears:

"Congratulations, Miss Gu Ran! You are our lucky guest for tonight!"

Applause and cheers erupted instantly, yet Gu Ran felt a wave of inexplicable panic.

She turned her head to look at Ye Feng and found him frowning, wondering what he was thinking about.

Just then, another spotlight suddenly lit up, shining directly onto Lin Chen.

He stood in the light and shadow, a bouquet of vibrant red roses appearing in his hand at some point; crystal-clear water droplets adorned the petals, shimmering under the lights.

And even more eye-catching was the exquisite diamond ring embedded in the center of the roses, the diamond on the ring refracting a brilliant glow under the spotlight.

Lin Chen walked slowly toward Gu Ran, every step seeming to land on the heartbeats of those present.

His gaze was affectionate and focused, a gentle smile playing on the corners of his mouth.

When he reached Gu Ran, he lowered his head slightly, his voice low and clear: "Gu Ran, from the first time I saw you, I knew you were the one who made my heart flutter."

"Your smile, your eyes, your every move—all are deeply imprinted in my heart."

"Today, I want to take this opportunity to tell you my feelings—I like you, and I am willing to spend the rest of my life protecting you. Will you accept me?"

The entire venue instantly boiled over; guests began to clamor, with applause, whistles, and cheers rising one after another.

Someone shouted "Say yes to him," while others took out their phones to record this romantic scene.

Gu Ran, however, felt her mind go blank, her ears buzzing.

She subconsciously looked at Ye Feng and found his expression as indifferent as usual; suddenly, a hint of displeasure welled up in her heart, though she did not know where the emotion came from.

On the other side, Lin Chen kept smiling, holding the roses and the ring out toward Gu Ran, his eyes full of anticipation.

His gaze was gentle and firm, as if telling her that all of this was sincere.

Gu Ran's heart raced; countless thoughts flashed through her mind: Was all of this sincere, or was it a carefully designed act? And here, under the gaze of everyone, how should she make her choice?

The surrounding guests could no longer contain themselves, crowding around as the clamor grew louder.

Someone shouted: "Miss Gu, just say yes! Young Master Lin is a rare good man!"

Others joked with a laugh: "Such a romantic confession, even I am moved!"

Gu Ran felt a wave of pressure, her palms sweating slightly.

"Gu Ran, what is the meaning of this?"

Lin Chen blocked Gu Ran's path, his tone filled with suppressed anger: "It is your honor that I confessed to you, yet you actually dared to refuse!"

Hearing this, Gu Ran became even more firm in her decision to refuse.

Lin Chen stepped forward and lowered his voice: "Gu Ran, don't think I don't know your current situation."

"The capital chain of the Gu Group is about to break, and your parents are hiding from debts abroad; they can't help you at all. As long as you agree to cooperate with me, I can help you solve these problems."

Gu Ran's expression remained calm, but Ye Feng could feel her body tense slightly.

She looked at Lin Chen coldly, a hint of mockery in her tone: "Young Master Lin, I appreciate your kindness, but the affairs of the Gu Group are not for you to worry about!"

Gu Ran ignored him and turned to Ye Feng: "Ye Feng, let's go."

Ye Feng nodded, stepped forward, and blocked the space between Gu Ran and Lin Chen.

Seeing this, Lin Chen sneered: "Yo, isn't this President Gu's driver? What, still want to play the hero saving the beauty?"

Ye Feng ignored his mockery and simply said indifferently, "Young Master Lin, please move aside."

Lin Chen's expression became even uglier; he stared at Ye Feng, his tone carrying a threat: "Kid, you had better figure out your own status. A driver, and you dare to be arrogant in front of me?"

Ye Feng remained calm, his gaze fixed directly on Lin Chen: "Young Master Lin, I am just doing my job. If you have nothing else, please move aside."

Lin Chen was enraged by Ye Feng's attitude and was about to lash out when Gu Ran suddenly spoke up: "Lin Chen, this is the Gu Group, not a place for you to act wild. If you continue to pester us, I won't mind calling the police to handle it!"

Lin Chen's face turned from green to white, and he finally let out a cold snort: "Gu Ran, don't you regret this!"

"Without the support of my Lin Family, you will sooner or later come crawling to beg me!"

After saying this, he glared fiercely at Ye Feng, turned around, and left the lobby.
