Chapter 68: The Bewitching Young Woman

~7 min read 1,275 words

Ye Feng and Gu Ran walked into the small tavern hand in hand.

The tavern was not large, the lights were dim, and the air was filled with a faint aroma of wine and soft music.

There were only a few tables of guests in the tavern, making it exceptionally quiet.

In the corner, a beautiful resident singer was holding a guitar and singing softly.

Ye Feng and Gu Ran found a seat in the corner and ordered a round of drinks.

Gu Ran leaned on Ye Feng's shoulder, a slightly tipsy blush on her face, her eyes blurred and gentle.

"Ye Feng, I'm really so happy today."

Gu Ran said softly, her tone carrying a hint of laziness.

Ye Feng smiled and reached out to ruffle her hair: "As long as you're happy, I'll take you out to play often in the future!"

Gu Ran nodded, a happy smile appearing on her face: "Good, then it's a deal."

The two listened to music while drinking, the atmosphere warm and comfortable.

The resident singer's voice was soft and melodious, as if carrying some kind of magic, making people unable to help but immerse themselves in it.

After drinking a few bottles of wine, Gu Ran's face turned even redder, and she leaned into Ye Feng's embrace, saying softly: "Ye Feng, do you know, I have never been as relaxed as I am today!"

Ye Feng looked down at her and felt a sense of warmth in his heart: "In the future, whenever you want to relax, I will accompany you here."

Gu Ran smiled, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the tranquility of this moment.

Just then, a noisy sound suddenly came from the tavern.

Ye Feng looked up and saw several thugs surrounding the resident singer, saying dirty words.

"Yo, beauty, you sing pretty well, why don't you have a drink with us?"

One of the thugs with dyed yellow hair said with a grin.

The resident singer frowned, her tone cold: "Sorry, I'm just here to sing, I don't accompany people for drinks."

The yellow-haired thug was relentless and reached out to pull the resident singer's hand: "Don't be so cold, having a drink with us won't make you lose a piece of meat."

Ye Feng originally didn't want to meddle in other people's business, but when he looked closely, he discovered that the resident singer was actually Ye Ling'er's best friend—Xiaomei.

"Xiaomei?"

Ye Feng was stunned for a moment, then stood up.

Gu Ran also looked up and asked with some confusion: "Ye Feng, what's wrong?"

Ye Feng frowned, his tone serious: "That resident singer is Ling'er's best friend; it seems she's encountered some trouble."

Upon hearing this, Gu Ran immediately sat up straight: "Then let's go help her quickly!"

Ye Feng nodded and walked over quickly.

Gu Ran also followed behind him, a hint of worry on her face.

"Hey, you guys, let her go."

Ye Feng walked behind the thugs and said coldly.

The yellow-haired thug turned his head, saw Ye Feng, and a look of disdain appeared on his face: "Yo, another one meddling in other people's business?"

"Kid, don't meddle in other people's business, or you'll regret it."

"However, the girl behind you isn't bad either!"

"If you let her come and have a drink with us, we'll call it even, otherwise..."

At this moment, the yellow-haired thug suddenly saw Gu Ran behind Ye Feng. He licked his lips and looked at Gu Ran with lewdness.

Ye Feng's expression turned cold instantly, and a flash of anger crossed his eyes.

He stepped forward, blocking Gu Ran, his tone icy: "You guys, are you tired of living?"

The yellow-haired thug was startled by Ye Feng's momentum, but soon returned to his arrogant attitude: "Kid, we are from the Green Dragon Gang, don't be ungrateful!"

Ye Feng sneered, his tone carrying disdain: "Green Dragon Gang? What kind of thing is that?"

"Kid, you're looking for death, aren't you?"

Hearing this, the thug shouted angrily and swung his fist directly at Ye Feng.

Ye Feng dodged easily and backhanded a punch into the yellow-haired thug's stomach.

The yellow-haired thug screamed and fell to the ground, clutching his stomach.

Seeing this, the other thugs immediately rushed up.

Ye Feng was unhurried and knocked them all down in a few moves.

Seeing Ye Feng, Xiaomei's face revealed a hint of surprise: "Brother Ye Feng, why are you here?"

Ye Feng smiled, his tone relaxed: "Just passing by, are you alright?"

Xiaomei shook her head, her tone carrying a hint of gratitude: "I'm fine, thank you."

Ye Feng waved his hand and smiled lightly.

Then, he looked at the thugs on the ground and frowned: "Xiaomei, don't sing in places like this in the future, it's too dangerous."

Xiaomei nodded, her tone carrying a hint of helplessness: "I know, but I like singing, and the boss here is very good to me."

As soon as the words fell, the back door of the tavern was suddenly pushed open, and a stunningly beautiful and bewitching young woman wearing a cheongsam walked out.

She looked to be in her thirties, with a noble temperament, beautiful features, and a majesty that could not be ignored in every gesture.

"What's going on?"

The young woman walked to Xiaomei's side, her tone calm but carrying a hint of coldness.

Seeing the young woman, the expressions of the thugs changed instantly.

The yellow-haired thug crawled up from the ground and accused them first: "Boss Lady, this girl seduced us and even called people to beat us!"

"You must decide for us!"

The young woman glanced at him coldly, her tone carrying a hint of mockery: "Oh? Is that so?"

Xiaomei was so angry that her face turned pale, and she quickly explained: "Sister Qing She, it's not like that!"

"It was them who insisted on me having a drink with them. I didn't want to, so they started moving their hands and feet. Brother Ye Feng came to help me!"

After listening, the young woman's expression turned cold instantly.

She turned to look at the thugs, her tone icy: "You guys, you have quite some nerve, daring to cause trouble on my turf?"

The yellow-haired thug was so scared that his face turned pale, and he quickly waved his hands: "Boss Lady, it's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding!"

"We didn't know this was your turf, we'll leave now, we'll leave now!"

After speaking, he took the other thugs and ran away in a sorry state, not even daring to look back.

"Running?"

The young woman sneered at their backs. She clapped her hands lightly, and several big men in black suits instantly blocked their path.

"You... what are you doing... we are from the Green Dragon Gang!"

The thugs were held up by the men in suits, shouting all the while.

The young woman looked at their backs and snorted coldly: "So what if you're from the Green Dragon Gang?"

"Daring to cause trouble on my, Qing She's, turf, the Green Dragon Gang can't protect you either!"

Then, she turned around and looked at Xiaomei, her tone softening a bit: "Xiaomei, are you alright?"

Xiaomei shook her head, her tone carrying a hint of gratitude: "I'm fine, thank you, Boss Lady."

The young woman nodded, then looked at Ye Feng and Gu Ran, a flash of appreciation crossing her eyes: "Sir, thank you for your help just now."

Ye Feng smiled, his tone relaxed: "Just a small effort, don't be polite."

"By the way, can you tell me what kind of faction the Green Dragon Gang actually is?" ===== CHAPTER 69 =====
