Chapter 547
According to Liu Junyan's experience, when the heavenly tribulation arrives, everything possessing a Soul Body around the execution platform will be sucked into Dìshì's body.
Besides filling the shattered true form and transforming into Fēnshēn, those who are originally the products or descendants of these Fēnshēn are unaffected; on the contrary, they might be drawn into Dìshì's Formation Array of "inverting heaven and earth, exchanging yin and yang," with a chance to directly enter one of the divine temples in Zàng Qū.
As Feng Wu Jiu, I am a descendant of the Ancient Feng Clan.
But as a Feng Li Slave, I am also considered one of the descendants of the Fēnshēn.
So I want to retrace the path Liu Junyan once took, enter that Formation Array and have a look.
First, to examine the Formation Array; second, to look at A Cheng's head; third, to go see that divine temple in Zàng Qū, as well as another divine temple about ten li away from it, which the Fang Chuan Sect had previously speculated about.
But when I truly stood before the execution platform, facing Dìshì, at the moment the heavenly tribulation struck, nothing happened.
I could hear the hysterical wails of innocent souls being dragged to the execution platform in the distance.
When the heavenly thunder struck, it was also deafening.
But all external forces seemed to have no effect on me.
I stood at the edge of the execution platform, tightly staring at Dìshì's shattered true form.
I saw him, at the moment the heavenly thunder struck, also gritting his teeth in pain, letting out a loud roar, lightning flashing across his limbs and bones, like countless Língchí dāo continuously carving through his flesh, muscles, tendons, and bones.
Even the Língchí punishment has a moment when it ends.
Yet Dìshì's suffering from the heavenly tribulation knows no end.
At this moment, I even felt that the heavenly Dao had not spared Dìshì; such a tribulation must be staged many times each day, and Dìshì has endured it for many, many years.
But in this process, I saw a thick black qi wandering between his shattered flesh... Indeed, Dìshì's immortal true form is due to the power of his mother, that great demon, at work.
Over all these years, the reason this has never been confirmed is that no one could be like me, completely unaffected during this heavenly tribulation.
I should be the only person currently able to see this thick black qi.
Without the slightest hesitation, the moment I saw that black qi, my longbow was already gripped in my left hand, and the arrow feather nocked on the bowstring.
I aimed at Dìshì's brow, drew the bow fully, with a whoosh, the arrow feather carrying several flames of Nirvana had already been shot.
At that moment, I don't know if it was my illusion, but I seemed to see a hint of imminent liberation on Dìshì's face.
Unfortunately, my arrow feather did not strike Dìshì's true form; a powerful black qi burst forth from his true form, condensing into an arc-shaped black qi true qi ring that directly met the arrow feather and Nirvana fire.
The Nirvana fire exploded within the black qi, burning into a sheet.
But that flame vanished in an instant, and Dìshì's true form remained there.
Instead, a dull ache faintly came from my lower abdomen.
I know this should be the work of the evil bone skull.
I am unwilling!
If I could destroy Dìshì's true form and this black qi in one fell swoop, everything would be over—this would be the best outcome.
I am not giving up; I draw the bow a second time.
Before the bow was fully drawn, the dull ache in my lower abdomen already made my whole body tremble.
Frustrated!
Clearly I have already succeeded in Nirvana, so why am I still having my power suppressed by an evil bone skull?
I refuse to accept it!
I draw the bow again…
"Older sister, stop!"
A Cheng's hand pressed onto the back of my hand pulling the bow, and my emotions suddenly turned cold.
That frenzied state just now seemed not to be myself.
"Older sister, didn't you forget what I told you? The evil bone skull exists and grows by relying on negative emotions, and it can also release negative emotions to affect your emotions and judgment; just now… you were haunted."
I looked around.
Dìshì's true form was still bound to the execution platform, covered in blood, riddled with wounds, more ruined than a stray dog.
But within his shattered flesh, that black qi was no longer visible.
This wave of heavenly tribulation had already passed.
And I had just been immersed in the scene of the heavenly tribulation, unable to extricate myself.
"Older sister, you can't kill it; as long as there are negative emotions, it is everywhere." A Cheng took my hand, trying to lead me away from the execution platform, "Let's leave this place first and talk."
I finally came to my senses, put away the longbow, didn't move, but instead asked, "A Cheng, how did you end up here?"
A Cheng replied, "I also wanted to come check the situation, but I arrived a step late; the heavenly tribulation had just ended."
No, A Cheng is lying.
He should have come earlier; he wants to retrieve his head.
Perhaps it was because he happened to run into me being here as well that he postponed his plan.
I quickly grabbed A Cheng's hand and sternly said, "A Cheng, don't come to the execution platform again; it's too dangerous. Believe me, older sister, I promise I will definitely help you retrieve your head."
A Cheng obediently answered, "Okay, A Cheng will listen to older sister; from now on I won't come. Older sister also needs to listen to A Cheng, stay calm, otherwise it's easy to be haunted by the other side."
A Cheng took my hand, I followed him forward a few steps, then suddenly stopped, turned around, and looked toward Dìshì again.
I admit, I am still unwilling in my heart; I don't believe there truly is no way to deal with Dìshì's true form.
If I can't dispose of it… then what about ferrying it across?
If I could forcibly ferry Dìshì across, sending him into reincarnation?
Even if I were to bear immense karmic obstacles, and in the next life be reborn into the animal realm, as long as I can send Dìshì away, I feel doing all this would be worthwhile, right?
"A Cheng, you go first; find the Seven Halls Yama or Liu Junyan; I have something to do."
Saying that, I loosened A Cheng's hand, pushed him forward a few steps, then decisively turned and ran toward the execution platform.
A Cheng shouted loudly at me, lifting his leg to chase after me, when Feng Wu appeared, blocking A Cheng.
By then, I had already leapt onto the execution platform, summoned the Soul-guiding Lamp, while running I formed hand signs and chanted, pinched a sword finger, took a drop of lamp oil from the Soul-guiding Lamp, tapped the ground with my toes, and my whole body rose into the air.
The finger holding that drop of Lamp Oil pressed toward Dìshì's brow.
My movements were especially quick; everything was completed in the blink of an eye.
Even Dìshì didn't expect that I would suddenly launch a counterattack, nor did he expect that I would choose to ferry him across with Lamp Oil.
No one would have thought I would do this.
After all, to ferry across a person of heinous evil, how deep the karmic burden I must bear, and after my death, how much infamy I would have to bear—unimaginable.
But I still went ahead with it, without hesitation.
Just as my finger was about to press against Dìshì's brow, Dìshì closed his eyes.
At the same moment, his face suddenly changed; a stream of black qi rapidly condensed, forming a woman's visage. I saw the woman's lips lightly move, uttering a single word: "nightmare…"
