Chapter 927: Great Kindness, Sir

~7 min read 1,313 words

Shan Shan could hardly believe her eyes—how did the world inside the Spiritual Mirror suddenly appear in the real world?

From a geographical distribution perspective, Shan Shan's current position happened to be exactly southwest of the Main Hall.

What on earth is going on?

"Shan Shan..."

As she was thinking, Shan Shan suddenly heard Ao Jing calling her; she immediately regained her composure and looked at Ao Jing.

Ao Jing had already awakened; he weakly leaned against a large tree nearby.

Shan Shan immediately asked with concern, "Ao Jing, are you feeling better?"

"I'm fine," Ao Jing said. "I just expended too much Dragon Qi and Spiritual Power; I just need a moment to recover."

It's nowhere near as simple as he says.

After this expenditure, Ao Jing needs to retreat into seclusion for one week to half a month to fully recover.

Shan Shan's mood was extremely complex: joy at having survived the ordeal, worry and guilt over Ao Jing, and puzzlement about their current surroundings.

She walked over, squatted with her back to Ao Jing, patted her own shoulder, and said, "Ao Jing, climb on; I'll carry you back."

Ao Jing laughed, "It's not necessary, really not necessary..."

Before he finished speaking, Shan Shan had already taken his hand and placed it on her shoulder; in an instant, she shot up like a rocket, transformed into a phoenix, and carried Ao Jing into the sky.

Ao Jing lay on the phoenix's back, feeling somewhat awkward.

But after Shan Shan had carried him aloft, she hovered in place and gestured for Ao Jing to look ahead.

Soon Ao Jing also saw the Feng Clan's main hall; his astonishment was no less than Shan Shan's.

Although while inside the Spiritual Mirror's Snow Region, he had surmised that the spirit beasts and birds within were sealed, making a frontal assault's chances nearly zero, but by empowering the entire Snow Region space with Dragon Qi and Spiritual Power, there might be a chance to break the seal, rescue the beings inside, and thus find a turning point.

But he never imagined the turning point would be this great!

No wonder Shan Shan insisted on carrying him; she wanted him to see all of this.

At this moment, Shan Shan said, "Ao Jing, I feel as if I'm dreaming; do you think we're being controlled by the other side's Illusory Mirror? But it doesn't seem like an Illusory Mirror to me..."

Shan Shan was left feeling somewhat unsure of herself.

Ao Jing was about to say it wasn't an Illusory Mirror when a commotion suddenly rose from below.

The two simultaneously looked downward and discovered that, at some point, the space below had turned into a vast white expanse.

The Feng Clan's geographical position is somewhat special; it borders the Nether Realm, and at least in the area of the Main Hall, snow is hardly visible.

In the snow below, a large gathering of living beings had assembled—birds, beasts, and more than a dozen Snow Leopards of varying sizes.

They all raised their heads and called out toward the two above, as if summoning them.

"They seem to be calling us."

Shan Shan said this, then brought Ao Jing down to the ground.

As soon as the two landed, those living beings all knelt down in unison.

Among them, some had awakened spiritual intelligence and could speak, while others could only make cries; but Shan Shan could see that every living being present felt especially grateful and respectful toward the two of them.

The leading, largest Snow Leopard first said to Ao Jing, "Thank you for saving all the beings of our Snow Region, sir; your great kindness is unforgettable."

Then turning to Shan Shan, it said, "Phoenix Lord, we offended you earlier in the Spiritual Mirror, but we were under control; attacking you was not our will. We harbor no second thoughts toward you, the Phoenix Lord, or the Feng Clan; returning to the Feng Clan is also the dearest wish of our entire people."

Shan Shan's heart shuddered.

It turned out that all of this was actually true.

The world within the Spiritual Mirror, once the seal is lifted, can return to reality, returning to the Feng Clan.

Putting it that way, if she could find a way to successfully lift all the seals within the Spiritual Mirror, could the Feng Clan's original territory be restored to its former state?

Just thinking about it made Shan Shan feel it was too wonderful to be true.

But she did not indulge in fantasy, for breaking through this time was entirely due to Ao Jing's efforts, and he had exerted himself to the utmost then.

Most importantly, no one can be certain whether other Spiritual Mirror spaces are more dangerous than this Snow Region; thus, while one may ponder, reason remains.

Shan Shan raised her hand and gestured, letting all the beings rise; she then said, "Within the seal, you had no choice; now that you have regained freedom, the Feng Clan welcomes your return."

"First, rest a while; later, designated persons will come to inquire about your situation, at which time you will need to cooperate fully."

As for selecting a Snow Leopard as a mount, Shan Shan did not mention it.

After all, the entire people have returned; Shan Shan is the Phoenix Lord, so in the future she can slowly consider and discuss which Snow Leopard to take as a mount.

The most important thing now is to settle them properly and quickly register this Snow Region land; Shan Shan worries that ill-intentioned people might target this Snow Region.

After the living beings dispersed, Shan Shan hurriedly pulled the now-recovered Ao Jing back toward the Feng Clan's main hall.

Having just walked halfway, they met Tang Xun and A Cheng coming toward them, with a group of people behind them.

Tang Xun and A Cheng knew that the two had entered the Spiritual Mirror and that their space was the Snow Region, but they had not expected that the Snow Region would suddenly appear in the southwest corner of the Feng Clan; they hurried over to take a look.

Shan Shan then recounted to them everything that had happened inside the Spiritual Mirror.

A Cheng exclaimed in surprise, "Although I had previously speculated that the Feng Clan territory sealed within the Spiritual Mirror might possibly be restored, I never imagined anyone could actually achieve this; you two have truly given me a great surprise."

"It's all thanks to Ao Jing," Shan Shan said sincerely. "If it weren't for Ao Jing, I'd probably already be a corpse in the Spiritual Mirror's Snow Region by now."

Tang Xun and A Cheng did not stint on praise.

After all, Ao Jing is an outstanding youngster; having also helped the Feng Clan so much, who could not like such a capable partner?

Ao Jing's expression showed no surprise or delight, yet he repeatedly said, "We're all our own people; I merely did what I was capable of; lifting the seal was purely accidental."

"This is no accident!" Shan Shan corrected. "It is the opportunity you won for us through your keen judgment and great strength, Ao Jing—you have conferred great kindness upon me and the Feng Clan."

Ao Jing laughed, ruffling Shan Shan's hair, and said, "Then cheer up, Shan Shan; the Feng Clan has too much for you to do as Phoenix Lord—you must never be knocked down. If any difficulty arises, I… we will stand behind you and give our all to help you."

Shan Shan nodded firmly: "No way—I'm now full of vigor!"

A Cheng led personnel to the Snow Region for handover, while the rest returned to the Feng Clan.

Ao Jing had a meal here, then returned to the Linghai Dragon Clan.

Next, he will enter seclusion for a period of time…
