Chapter 94: The Qin Family All Know You Have No Blood Relation to Ping'an

~8 min read 1,571 words

Qin Yunshu read through it from beginning to end, her gaze fixed on the last page.

【Boss Wen of Bali Town has two apprentices who look very much alike.】

Very much alike?

What does that mean?

Qin Yunshu held her breath, and many images surfaced in her mind.

And she had a bold idea.

Her heart was thumping.

Finally, she tidied up the document and placed it back on the table.

When Chu Li came in, she immediately said, "A Li, save my father."

Chu Li knew what Qin Jianguo had done.

His expression was somewhat stern, "Uncle Qin kidnapped Wen Ping'an and caused his condition to flare up; the one who wants him in jail is Wen Lvzhong. You don't need me to tell you how renowned Wen Lvzhong is, do you?"

Qin Yunshu sobbed sadly, "But Father, he didn't mean to."

Chu Li had always loathed Qin Jianguo; previously it was just petty matters, but now it was different.

Now, he had crossed his bottom line.

"For the sake of profit, he tried to force Grandma to marry; when Grandma refused, he kidnapped a sick child. Are you saying all these things he did were unintentional?"

Qin Yunshu could not speak.

After all, she had a part in forcing Qin Nainai to marry as well.

"Yun Shu, don't get involved in this," Chu Li said coldly.

He would not help.

Qin Yunshu pleaded once more, but Chu Li would not budge.

She had no choice but to leave.

Yet, her mind was filled with the contents of that document.

After finishing his work, Chu Li went to pick up Qin Xingwan.

When the two met, it was another bout of silence.

Chu Li thought Qin Xingwan would question him about hiding the truth regarding the drinking incident.

But Qin Xingwan did not mention a single word of it.

All the way back to Beicheng Villa, after eating dinner, until ten o'clock when it was time to sleep, she neither asked nor made a scene.

Chu Li hesitated for a moment and explained first, "Yun Shu accidentally took the wrong glass; she didn't do it on purpose."

Qin Xingwan nodded, "Mm."

It wasn't that she didn't want to ask, but that she knew asking was useless.

He naturally held a certain tolerance for Qin Yunshu.

And she, for the sake of Ping'an's illness, still had to beg him, had to be humble and adopt a soft posture.

Chu Li stood for a while, and seeing that Qin Xingwan had no intention of speaking further, he turned and went to the study.

Qin Xingwan sat blankly for a long time before slowly sliding down into the quilt to sleep.

The next morning, the two ate breakfast in silence.

It was as if the warmth of the previous few days had become an illusion.

Even the servants could see that something was wrong between the two, and they speculated about what the master and mistress were arguing about again.

Halfway through the meal, Qin Xingwan received a call from the caregiver, saying that she had been driven out by Lady Qin.

Her heart tightened; she knew that Lady Qin was desperate and was going to bully Grandma.

Putting down her bowl and chopsticks, she stood up to leave.

Chu Li grabbed her arm, "I'll take you."

"No need." Qin Xingwan shook off his hand and refused directly.

But soon, her wrist was caught by Chu Li again.

"Xingwan, I said I would take you," he insisted.

Qin Xingwan was equally insistent, "I said no need."

The already delicate atmosphere instantly became tense.

Chu Li frowned, "Qin Xingwan."

Qin Xingwan's eyes were full of sarcasm, "Are you afraid I'll hurt your little sister Yun Shu?"

Chu Li's breath hitched.

She was indeed angry about that matter.

"There were many people there at the time, Yun Shu... she really did take the wrong glass," Chu Li explained once again.

Qin Xingwan did not want to hear those explanations; in Chu Li's eyes, Qin Yunshu was always in the right anyway.

She lowered her eyes, her tone calm, "I don't have time to argue with you. I'm going to the Qin Family to find Grandma now. You are very busy; I don't need you to take me."

Chu Li said nothing, only grabbing her wrist and pulling her into the car.

The Qin Family.

Lady Qin stood in Qin Nainai's room with her hands on her hips, her voice shrill and screaming, "He is your son! Are you really planning to let him go to jail?"

Qin Nainai sat on the edge of the bed, quietly watching her daughter-in-law go mad.

Because Qin Xingwan had come specifically to tell her about this, she had been mentally prepared, so her emotions were very stable.

"He brought this upon himself."

Qin Jianguo is a man of forty or fifty; surely he knows what he can do and what he cannot do?

Bullying a sick child on top of that—if word got out, it would simply be a disgrace to the old Qin Family.

Lady Qin was furious; she could not believe the old lady would say something as cold and heartless as "bringing it upon oneself."

"Yes, he may have been a bit muddled in his actions, but he did it for the sake of this family. Besides, the child is perfectly fine. Are you going to disregard your own son's life and death for the sake of an outsider?"

Qin Nainai was angry. "If the child is fine, it's because he is blessed and lucky. Besides, he is my grandson; how is he an outsider?"

"Grandson? He has absolutely no blood relation to Qin Xingwan," Lady Qin said, growing even angrier.

That degenerate Qin Xingwan actually wanted to send her own biological father to prison for the sake of some little bastard from who knows where.

She must have lost her mind.

Qin Nainai's expression changed abruptly, and she stood up, leaning on her cane. "What did you say?"

Lady Qin said coldly, "I said that little bastard has nothing to do with Qin Xingwan at all. The paternity test results are already out..."

As she spoke, she suddenly paused, staring at Qin Nainai in disbelief. "You knew about this all along."

Qin Xingwan had always lived with her grandmother; the grandmother must have known whether she was pregnant or had given birth, yet before this...

Lady Qin gasped; what on earth were they trying to do?

"Mom, that little bastard... I don't know why you and Qin Xingwan treasure that little bastard, but I must save Qin Jianguo. If you don't agree, don't blame me for being heartless."

Qin Nainai sat back down tremblingly. Did the entire Qin Family know that Ping'an was not Xingwan's child?

What else did they know?

She felt very uneasy.

As for Lady Qin's threat, she did not take it to heart.

A servant ran in, panicked. "Madam, the second young lady is here."

Because of yesterday's events, Lady Qin had reprimanded the servants, telling them to be vigilant at all times and to report to her if Qin Xingwan arrived.

"Chu Zong is here with her as well," the servant added.

Lady Qin's mind raced. "Go call Yun Shu and tell her to come back."

The servant hurried off.

Qin Xingwan had already walked over quickly; seeing that her grandmother was still alright, the heart she had been holding in her chest finally settled.

"Xingwan." Qin Nainai reached out, tears in her eyes.

Qin Xingwan hurriedly reached out to grab her hand; the grandmother's hand was ice-cold and trembling slightly.

Her heart skipped a beat.

What had Lady Qin said to her grandmother?

"Grandmother."

Qin Nainai shook her head.

It meant that Qin Xingwan should not say anything.

Lady Qin watched the interaction between the grandmother and granddaughter, and her heart turned completely cold.

They were colluding to destroy this family.

It was a waste that she and her husband had brought them here to enjoy a good life.

Two ungrateful wretches, one old and one young.

But saving Qin Jianguo was the priority now.

She suppressed the resentment in her heart and softened her tone. "Xingwan, your father knows he was wrong. Look, just forgive him this once. You know that without him, the company cannot continue to operate normally; our family still relies on him."

As she spoke, she squeezed two tears from her eyes. "Mom, I know I didn't speak nicely before, but I was just anxious. I didn't truly mean to do anything to you. You understand how I feel, don't you?"

Neither Qin Xingwan nor Qin Nainai paid her any mind.

Lady Qin felt both embarrassed and furious.

She knew that speaking further would only make her look worse, so she could only leave with a dark expression.

Qin Xingwan looked at Chu Li. "Can you go outside for a moment? I have something to discuss with my grandmother."

Chu Li nodded and left.

The door closed.

Qin Nainai let out a long sigh, tears falling from the corners of her eyes. "Xingwan, why didn't you tell me that Qin Jianguo and the others all know that you and Ping'an have no blood relation?"

Qin Xingwan was stunned. "They know?"

Only two people should have known about this: one was Wen Lvzhong, and the other was Chu Li.

How could the Qin Family know?
