How much am I getting paid?\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He gave me a narrowed look. \"Nothing.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>I smiled lazily and tucked my hands behind my head. \"Then no, I’mnotcontributing.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Vince groaned and walked off.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>By then, Lily had finished absorbing her share of Essence and stepped inside.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Who’s next?\" she asked quietly.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Juliana stood without a word and started walking out toward the serpent’s remains.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The others had already taken their share.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Since the creature was only aLesserSpirit Beast, it didn’t have enough Essence to make a[B-ranker]level up, but it was still plenty to refill the reserves of every[C-ranker]in our group.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>So, Michael and I decided to let the rest of the team absorb it.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Everyone had already done so.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Juliana was the last.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>But as she was heading out, she paused. Her gaze shifted toward Lily — who was crouched beside her utility belt, rummaging through it with a frown.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Apparently, Lily was searching for bandages, salves, and a healing potion.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>That was because Vince’s shoulder was still injured from an arrow that had grazed him back at the temple, and Ray’s wrist had been sprained doing... something. I don’t remember what.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The problem was — Lily didn’t seem to have any healing potions left.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>So Juliana, who had been silently watching her until then, reached into her own pouch, pulled out a small vial of bluish-green liquid, and wordlessly placed it beside Lily.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lily blinked.
