Chapter 10: 2V2 (Five)

Looking at his own "masterpiece," You Tian nodded in satisfaction once more.

"That's that, my turn is over."

Dark Mask stared at You Tian's face, grinding his teeth in hatred!

It was this bastard — not only was his dueling style underhanded, even his personality was first-rate shamelessness!

Having dueled for so many years, this was the first time he so didn't want to lose!

But then he looked again at the Obelisk with an Attack Power of 3200, and instantly felt a trace of helplessness.

Only this guy! Only this guy!

"My turn! Draw Phase!"

Dark Mask drew a card in extreme fury.

"Hahahahaha!" Once Dark Mask saw the drawn card, he burst out laughing.

"You despicable bastard, even though you stole our ace monster, don't even dream of using him to hurt us again!"

You Tian raised an eyebrow.

"I activate this card from my hand, an Equip Magic Card — 【Mask of the Cursed Soul】!"

【Effect: The equipped monster cannot attack, and during each of your Standby Phases, it takes 500 points of damage.】

"I equip this card to your 【Obelisk】. Now, you can never use him again!"

Light Mask: "Partner, well done!"

Jonouchi frowned, but You Tian was unfazed.

"Hmph! Next, it's our turn to attack!"

"I activate another Magic Card from my hand, 【Desire's Urn】, to draw two cards from my Deck."

"Next, I Summon from my hand, 【Masked Sorcerer Cursed Throat】 in Attack Position!"

【Attack Power: 1500】

"Go! I use this monster to attack your 【Ten Thousand Hands God】!"

【Ten Thousand Hands God Attack Power: 1400】

Bang!

【You Tian LP: 4000→3900】

Light and Dark Mask were so overwhelmed that they nearly burst into tears.

Finally, finally we hit that bastard!

Although it's only 100 points of damage, this is the proof that we Light and Dark Mask will not bow to this bastard!

Obviously, these 100 points of damage let the two regain their confidence.

"Turn end!"

You Tian: Oh my, look how excited the kid is.

Jonouchi watched the three people's expressions, always feeling something was off.

Jonouchi: "My turn, Draw Phase."

"Although You Tian's ace card is temporarily sealed, don't forget, there's still Jonouchi — yours truly!"

Light and Dark Mask turned their gazes toward Jonouchi in unison.

Light and Dark: Huh? Young man, who are you? When did you get here? Oh oh, so you've been here all along.

"I activate an Equip Magic Card from my hand, 【Lightning Sword】."

"This card can boost my 【Giant Axe Attacker】 on the field by 800 Attack Power."

【Giant Axe Attacker Attack Power: 1700→2500】

You Tian watched this scene, and his mischievous streak rose again.

"Oh my, that little shorty over there has an empty field~"

Dark Mask immediately turned his head toward Light Mask.

"It's okay, partner, I'll block the... attack for you."

Huh? Why does this conversation feel so familiar?

You Tian grinned wickedly again: "Oh my, right, he might, perhaps, possibly, probably..."

Dark Mask: No?? Why is the same trick coming again???

"Hey, Jonouchi, I can't bear to see a test of human nature, you still should, attack that 【Masked Sorcerer】!"

Jonouchi also revealed a mischievous smile.

"Okay!"

Bang!

【Dark Mask LP: 3000→2000】

"Me! Me! Me! Me!", Dark Mask almost couldn't catch his breath

Light and Dark Mask felt a bit weary at this moment.

Working at the Gurus, doing illegal deeds every day, the pressure was already great.

Their leader Malik was a bit split-personality, always dragging subordinates into dangerous Slifer the Sky Dragon experiments.

Most importantly, now in the Duel field they were best at, they still had to endure the humiliation from a despicable Duelist like You Tian!

Dark Mask felt somewhat desperate — his own field had a parasite, while the opponent's field had an 【Obelisk】 with 3200 Attack Power and a 【Giant Axe Attacker】 with 2500 Attack Power — how could they even fight this?

Forget it, just losing like this is fine too.

"Partner, don't give up!!"

Unexpectedly, at that moment, the Light Mask suddenly shouted out.

"We two are the Light and Dark Mask of Gurus! A duo unmatched in team Duels!"

"Think of all the storms we've weathered together!"

"We cannot lose!"

"Think of our friendship! Think of our bond!"

You Tian: Huh?

Dammit, when the villain starts yelling about friendship and bonds, he's about to charge!

Hearing the Light Mask's words, the Dark Mask also seemed to regain hope.

"You're right, partner—we haven't lost yet!"

The Light and Dark Mask exchanged a glance and nodded firmly.

Light Mask: "My turn, Draw Phase!"

"I activate the Magic Card, 【Desire's Urn】!"

As the Light Mask drew two cards from his Deck, You Tian once again sensed the aura of a divine draw.

"Here it comes!" the Light Mask cried joyfully.

"Partner, the Deck has answered my will! Our trump card has arrived!"

You Tian: Wait, bro, is that really something the villain should say????

The Light Mask looked confidently at You Tian and Jonouchi.

"I activate the Magic Card from my hand, 【Monster Reborn】, to revive 【Masked Sorcerer Cursed Throat】 from my Graveyard!"

"Then, I Summon 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】 from my hand!"

Jonouchi frowned, "What's this for? Are you trying to Ritual Summon 【Hell Monk】 again?"

Light Mask: "Hehehe! Let me show you the true trump card of our Deck!"

"I tribute 【Masked Sorcerer Cursed Throat】 and 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】 on the field to Special Summon 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】!"

Jonouchi: "What! Special Summon!"

As soon as he spoke, the Soul Prison was once again shrouded in darkness, a deathly aura spreading from the Light Mask's side.

Suddenly, six intersecting bloodied claw marks slashed through space like blades, tearing apart the two tributes.

A monstrous, towering beast with a grotesque face appeared on the Light Mask's field.

【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 【Attack Power: 3300】

Jonouchi: "Attack Power is 3300?!"

"Hehehe! This is the power of the Light and Dark Mask!" said the Light Mask.

Dark Mask: "Perfect, partner!"

"Alright, now it's our turn to shine!"

The two studied You Tian and Jonouchi.

Though they hated You Tian with every fiber of their being, longing to crush him into dust,

You Tian's 【Necro Offering】 on the field could no longer attack. Even with a monster equipped, 【Necro Offering】 could not activate its effect again. You Tian posed no threat to them now.

But this yellow-haired rookie—unexpectedly, he had Summoned a monster with 2500 Attack Power.

The two exchanged a glance.

Light Mask: "I attack 【Giant Axe Attacker】 with 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】!"

【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 【Attack Power: 3300】

【Giant Axe Attacker】 【Attack Power: 2500】

Jonouchi: "You won't get away with that!"

"I activate the face-down Continuous Trap Card, 【Monster BOX】!"

"According to this card's effect, when your monster declares an attack, I flip a coin. If I guess correctly, that monster's Attack Power becomes 0 until the end of the Battle Phase!"

"Nani!" the Light and Dark Mask gasped in shock.

Wow! Here it comes!

You Tian also grew excited.

Jonouchi's live tutorial on gambling!

Jonouchi: "Goddess of Fate, favor me! Heads!"

A virtual image formed a coin, tossed high into the air, then fell straight down.

Thud!

"It's heads!" Jonouchi cheered.

"No," You Tian shook his head.

The coin, after hitting the ground, bounced repeatedly…

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

Tails!

"Hahahahaha!" the Light and Dark Mask burst into laughter.

"It seems the Goddess of Fate still stands with us! Go! 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】, crush his monster!"

At the command, the grotesque monster lunged forward like a starving wolf toward Overlord Axe.

Then, the beast raised its claws and slashed straight down at the small warrior.

Overlord Axe tried to raise his giant axe to block—but to the monster, the weapon was as tiny as a toy.

Boom!

A tremendous roar rang out, accompanied by a blast of smoke and dust!

"Hahahaha! 【Giant Axe Attacker】, destroy— Nani!"

As the smoke cleared, 【Giant Axe Attacker】 stood there, completely unscathed!

While 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】, destroyed!

"What's going on!" Light and Dark Mask could hardly believe it.

Jonouchi was also wearing a blank, dumbfounded expression.

"Ahem! Ahem!"

Just as the three were baffled and confused, You Tian beside them cleared his throat, gesturing for the three to look at him.

"The three great laws of Duel — 'smoke means no damage' — and you don't even know that?"

A question mark slowly popped up above each of the three's heads.

Light and Dark Mask: "Are you kidding me? You must have done something, right! You despicable bastard!"

You Tian gave a helpless smile. He could only step aside, revealing the Trap Card behind him.

Jonouchi: "Ah! Isn't that my card!"
