Chapter 61: Sister

【Hand Destruction】 activated successfully; You Tian drew 4 cards from his Deck.

Mo Liang sneered, sending his 3 hand cards to the Graveyard and drawing 3 cards from his Deck.

"Hmph, it's not over yet—I reveal the card I set last turn: Continuous Trap 【Spirit Necropolis】."

"This card allows me to banish monsters from my Graveyard; for each one, I destroy a monster on the field with the same Level!"

Saying this, Mo Liang raised his Duel Disk.

"Just now, through 【Hand Destruction】, I sent 3 more monsters to my Graveyard."

"Now, my Graveyard holds a full 9 monsters!"

Then Mo Liang pointed his hand at You Tian's field, at 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】.

"I activate 【Spirit Necropolis】—I banish 4 monsters from my Graveyard to destroy your 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】."

Boom!

【Spirit Necropolis】 activated successfully; 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】 was sent directly to the Graveyard.

"I end my turn."

Isis paused thoughtfully.

"By using 【Soldier Puppet】 to flood the field with defensive monsters, then destroying You Tian's monsters with 【Spirit Necropolis】 to buy time for a deck-stripping strategy?"

Malik trembled involuntarily. "Such a terrifying strategy!"

Since childhood, he had been tormented by his sister Isis using deck-stripping tactics; the first duel his dark personality ever fought was also lost to You Tian's deck-stripping tactics—deck-stripping had become his psychological barrier.

But inside, You Tian chuckled silently.

The Great Evil God has been out for so long, yet his dueling skills haven't evolved one bit.

"My turn: Draw Phase."

Mo Liang: "At this moment! My 【Soldier Puppet】 will replicate itself!"

【Soldier Puppet】 → 3× 【Soldier Puppet】.

You Tian remained unfazed.

I'll likely win this duel, but just in case, let me test what his face-down card is.

"I flip-summon 【Divine Magic Master】 on my field."

"When this card is flip-summoned, I can return one Magic Card from my Graveyard to my hand."

"And the one I choose is—"

You Tian slowly retrieved 【Bird of Ill Omen's Feather Broom】 from his Graveyard.

"Damn it! That card again!" Mo Liang's eyes turned icy.

You Tian directly inserted 【Bird of Ill Omen's Feather Broom】 into his Duel Disk.

Instantly, a powerful gust of wind erupted from 【Bird of Ill Omen's Feather Broom】, striking directly at Mo Liang's back row.

You Tian: "You know the effect—do you want to discard your Magic and Trap Cards yourself, or should I call a moving company for you?"

Mo Liang scowled.

"Hmph! Do you think the same trick will work on me twice?"

"I reveal my face-down card: Continuous Trap 【Soul Shield】!"

The card flipped open; a massive spectral barrier suddenly erupted across his field, blocking the wind from the feather broom.

"Hahahaha! This card lets me banish one Demon or Zombie monster from my Graveyard to negate your destruction effect!"

You Tian raised an eyebrow.

So it's this one. I remember this card can also negate attacks by banishing a monster.

Mo Liang's Graveyard currently holds 4 monsters, one of which is 【Transforming Pot】, which cannot activate 【Soul Shield】.

That means Mo Liang can still defend against me three more times.

Then,

"I activate an Equip Magic Card from my hand: 【Premature Burial】."

"By paying 800 Life Points, I special summon 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】 from my Graveyard."

【You Tian LP: 2700→1900】

You Tian's gaze dropped to his hand card: 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】.

"It's your turn."

"I tribute 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】 and 【Divine Magic Master】 to special summon 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】!"

Shhh! Shhh!

Six intersecting blood-claw marks appeared in midair as a ferocious beast descended onto the field.

【Masked Beast Death Guardian】 【Attack Power: 3300】

Death Guardian: "Master…"

"Hm?" You Tian glanced at him curiously.

Death Guardian: "When do I get sent back to the Graveyard this time?"

You Tian: …

"You make it sound like I summon you just to send you straight to the Graveyard?"

"Relax—I won't send you off this time. You can stay a while longer."

You Tian turned his attention back to the field.

"Battle Phase: I attack your 【Soldier Puppet】 with 【Masked Beast Death Guardian】."

Isis's pupils glinted.

You Tian's monster has 3300 Attack Power—if this attack lands…

"Don't even think about it! I activate the second effect of 【Soul Shield】—by banishing another monster from my Graveyard, I negate your attack!"

Just as expected, Mo Liang activated the negate-attack effect of 【Soul Shield】.

Isis: "That card can actually negate attacks too?!"

You Tian was not surprised in the slightest.

"Then I'll end my turn like this."

Mo Liang: "Hahahahaha! Nothing you can do now, You Tian!"

"Then it's my turn. Draw Phase."

"I'm going to Summon this guy from my hand."

"Come forth! 【Soul Face】!"

As the monster was Summoned, a horrifying mask of flesh and blood appeared on the field.

【Soul Face】 【Attack Power: 1200】

"When this guy is Summoned, I can return all my banished cards to my Deck. And for every card returned, its Attack Power goes up by 100!"

"Oh no!" Malik cried out in shock.

"Originally, Mo Liang's own Deck didn't have many cards left. But he just banished quite a few monsters from his Graveyard, and when 【Soul Face】 is Summoned, those monsters return straight to his Deck!"

"Exactly!" Mo Liang cackled.

"I banished 9 monsters in total, and now all of them are going back into my Deck. Hahahahaha!"

Mo Liang's Deck +9.

Isis: "Not only that—【Soul Face】 also has an effect that raises its Attack Power. Mo Liang returned 9 cards, so 【Soul Face】's Attack Power goes up by 900."

【Attack Power: 1200→2100】

Mo Liang's eyes glinted dangerously as he looked at 【Masked Beast Death Ritualist】 on You Tian's field.

Attack Power 3300, huh.

Too bad—I have no intention of competing with you on Attack Power.

"I'm not done yet! From my hand, I activate the Magic Card—【Soul Sealing Sword】!"

"This card can seal a monster on the field, banishing that monster!"

Isis: "Oh no! You Tian only has 【Masked Beast Death Ritualist】 on his field. If it gets sealed, Mo Liang's 【Soul Face】 will launch a direct attack on You Tian!"

Malik caught on as well.

"You Tian only has 1900 Life Points—he can't withstand Mo Liang's assault!"

You Tian, however, was unfazed.

I've had a 【Moon Book】 Set on my field for ages anyway, so I'm not afraid of attacks. And besides…

His eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at 【Soul Face】 on Mo Liang's field.

I bet this guy's target isn't Death Ritualist.

Mo Liang: "Fool! My target was never the monster on You Tian's field!"

Saying so, he pointed downward.

"The monster I want to seal is this one of mine!"

"What?!" Malik and Isis were utterly dumbfounded.

Whoosh!

As 【Soul Sealing Sword】 activated, a Western-style sword shot out from the card art in an instant, nailing Mo Liang's own 【Soul Face】 right off the field.

Malik: "Mo Liang sealing his own monster—what is he trying to do?"

Malik's question was soon answered.

"At this moment, 【Soul Face】's effect activates. When this card is banished, both of us must banish the top 5 cards of our Decks from the Game! Hahahahaha!"

Isis: "Deck-thinning again?!"

Shhh-shhh-shhh-shhh-shhh

You Tian's Deck -5

Mo Liang's Deck -5

Mo Liang's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at You Tian's Deck once more.

6 cards left, huh.

"From my hand, I activate this card—【Shallow Grave】."

"Both of us can each select one monster from our Graveyard and Special Summon it to the field in face-down Defense Position."

"Heh-heh." Mo Liang sneered as he pulled out 【Transforming Pot】 from his Graveyard.

"Of course, the one I choose is this!"

Both Isis and Malik frowned deeply.

You Tian's Deck doesn't have many cards left—if 【Transforming Pot】's effect triggers one more time, he'll lose!

You Tian gave a small nod.

"Then I'll choose this one."

Saying so, You Tian Set 【Divine Magic Master】 from his Graveyard onto the field.

Mo Liang: That card again—the one that recycles 【Harpie's Feather Duster】 from the Graveyard?

But it doesn't matter. I still have one monster in my Graveyard for 【Soul Shield】 to use.

"I'll Set one more card, and end my turn!"

Heh-heh. The card I Set is 【Earthbound Spirit's Lure】.

This card forces the opponent to attack the monster I choose.

Next turn, the instant You Tian draws a card, his Deck will be down to just 5 cards.

Then when he attacks, I'll switch his attack target to the Transforming Pot. When that happens, he'll draw 5 more cards from his Deck.

At that point, he'll lose outright — and that means this great lord's victory!

Go on! Draw! You Tian, draw your very last card!

You Tian: "My turn, draw!"

You Tian glanced at the newly drawn card, his brows lifting slightly.

"Mo Liang~"

Mo Liang: "Hm?"

You Tian stared straight at Mo Liang.

"Looks like this Duel ends here. You lose."

Mo Liang was stunned by You Tian's words.

"Pfft!"

Then he let out another snicker.

"Are you so afraid of being sent into darkness that you've started talking nonsense?"

"This great lord has whittled your Deck down to just 5 cards, and you actually say I'll lose?"

You Tian shook his head with a teasing grin.

"Then watch closely."

"First, I Flip Summon Divine Magic Master. At this point, the Magician's effect activates — I can recover one Magic Card from my Graveyard."

Mo Liang: "Hmph! Harpie's Feather Duster again? Too bad — Soul Shield still has ammo left!"

You Tian shook his head with a teasing grin.

"This time, the card I'm recovering is the Book of the Sun."

"Book of the Sun?" Mo Liang's brow furrowed slightly.

You Tian: "It's not over yet. From here on, that's when your nightmare begins."

"I activate my Set card — Reversal of the Underworld and the Living World!"

"This card can be activated when I have 15 or more cards in my Graveyard."

"By its effect, I can pay 1000 Life Points to swap both players' Decks and Graveyards!"

"In other words, every card in my Graveyard right now will return to my Deck."

Mo Liang: "Nani!"
