Chapter 8: 2V2 (Three)

"Strong Force Der, huh!" Dark Mask really couldn't hold it in.

"Also, your ace card is freaking 【Forced Transfer】? Using such a Niu Tounren card — that's too underhanded!" Dark Mask roared out.

Jonouchi also turned his head over.

You Tian spread his hands.

He didn't want this either! After leaving Gurus's Boss, You Tian went to two more card shops. But for some reason, no matter how he bought card packs, what came out were all these Niu Tounren cards.

Things like 【Forced Transfer】, 【Brainwash】, 【Death Magic Box】, and the like.

Could it be that the cards in this world also choose their own masters?

You Tian's line of thinking wasn't actually wrong.

Badass people use badass decks — You Tian, this badass, ended up using a "Badass Person" deck. Seemed perfectly reasonable!

"May I ask, is 【Forced Transfer】 not strong?"

The three of them were momentarily at a loss for words.

"Is 【Forced Transfer】 not rare?"

The three of them fell silent again.

"Then why can't it be my ace card?"

That remark actually made Jonouchi pause.

"You Tian…"

Jonouchi originally wanted to say, "An ace card in a deck is usually a monster," but he suddenly thought of Mo Liang again.

That guy seemed to have also said his ace card was the Magic Card 【Mind Change】…

"…Uh, you have a point!" Jonouchi expressed his agreement.

For a moment, Gurus's Light and Dark Mask began to worry about the future of the Duel world.

"Hmph, dealing with you Gurus, what's wrong with being a little underhanded!" Jonouchi turned his head back and said.

You Tian: Huh? Jonouchi?

"Hmph! My turn isn't over yet!"

"Since the Parasite is no longer on my field, you Gurus scum — let me show you my deck's new ace!"

"I will Tribute the 【Masked Sorcerer Cursed Throat】 on my field to perform an Advanced Summon of 【Artificial Human Soga】!"

Saying so, Jonouchi raised high one card from his hand.

Light Mask: "Hee hee hee! Fooled you! I activate my face-down card — Continuous Trap 【Mask of Sealed Sacrifice】!"

You Tian: Here it comes! The pre-summon timing window you only see in anime!

As Light Mask finished speaking, a Continuous Trap slowly stood up from his back row.

【(Manga) Effect: As long as this card exists in the Magic & Trap Zone, the opposing player cannot Tribute cards (when teaming up, teammates are not affected).】

(PS: The real card's effect is that both players cannot Tribute cards.)

"While this card is on the field, you cannot Tribute monsters! So, blond kid, you cannot perform an Advanced Summon!"

"Nani!" Jonouchi cried out in shock.

"Hee hee hee! You dare to seal my partner's Summon — then I'll let you two taste the flavor of being unable to Advanced Summon too!"

Dark Mask: "Nice one, partner!"

Jonouchi: "Damn it!"

Light Mask looked at the helpless Jonouchi, appearing quite pleased with himself.

"Hey! That black-haired kid over there! While this card is on the field, you can't Ritual Summon either!"

"So, your 【Relinquished】 is useless! Hee hee hee."

You Tian narrowed his eyes.

Not many people know he has 【Relinquished】.

I was still wondering — at this point in time, why aren't Light and Dark Mask out ganking Pharaoh, and instead coming to snipe me for no reason?

Looks like it was that card shop owner who sold me the cards that called these two over.

Jonouchi was somewhat surprised after hearing the two of them.

He never expected that You Tian actually had the same card as Pegasus — no wonder he was able to defeat Insect YuE.

Actually, Jonouchi was wrong — when You Tian fought YuE, he didn't yet have 【Relinquished】.

"Hmph! Dealing with you two pieces of trash, low-Level monsters are enough!"

"I Summon 【Giant Axe Attacker】 in Attack Position!"

【Attack Power: 1700】

"Hmph! It's just a Continuous Trap — as long as I take you out, the Trap Card naturally goes away!"

Jonouchi swung his arm toward Light Mask. "I use 【Giant Axe Attacker】 to attack the 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】 on your field!"

Light Mask: "Don't even think about it! I activate my face-down card — Quick-Play Magic 【Mask of Iron Wall】!"

【(Manga) Effect: Negate the opposing player's attack for one turn.】

As the card activated, a giant iron mask blocked Overlord Axe's assault.

"Hee hee hee, this turn, all your attacks will be blocked by the Iron Wall!"

"Damn it!"

Helpless, Jonouchi could only end his turn in frustration.

Light Mask: "My turn! Draw Phase!"

At this moment, Dark Mask once again spoke quietly to Light Mask through their internal voice channel.

"Partner, we've got to wrap this up fast! Just now, Lord Malik contacted me — said once this fight's over, he's got a mission for us!"

The Light Mask grew serious at once upon hearing this.

"Good!"

"Hmph! Kids, we don't have time to play with the two of you."

"Since you can't play your trump card from above, this turn, let me show you our trump card!"

You Tian: "Huh? Didn't I already show you my trump card?"

The Light Mask ignored You Tian's banter.

"I activate a Magic Card from my hand—【Desire's Urn】—draw two cards!"

"Next, I activate this card from my hand—【Masked Beast Ritual】!"

In the center of the field, two candles burning blue flames appeared.

"I tribute my 【Masked Sorcerer】 in hand and the 【Four-Faced Beast Melchido】 on the field for a Ritual Summon!"

"From the pitch-black abyss, a magician is born—shatter this false world! Come forth, 【Masked Beast Hell Monk】!"

As he spoke, a chilling wind began to stir in the center of the field, the blue flames on the candles flickering wildly.

The wind grew fiercer, the flames larger. The next instant, roaring fire consumed everything on the field—and from the abyss emerged a massive, centaur-like monster.

【Masked Beast Hell Monk】!

【Attack Power: 3200】

"Awesome! Too awesome!" You Tian blurted out.

The Light and Dark Mask looked smug. Jonouchi was left speechless in shock.

The Light Mask: "Hmph! Black-haired brat, now you've seen my power! Hahaha!"

You Tian nodded.

It really was impressive.

To trade four cards for a blank monster—what could he even say? He'd been card-depleted to the point of vomiting.

In this early environment, who the hell uses Ritual Summoning?

Huh?

You Tian suddenly remembered 【Necroface】 in his Deck…

I activate 【Extradimensional Transfer Device】 to banish myself.

"Hehehe, who should I attack first, you two?"

The Light Mask's gaze began to linger maliciously between You Tian and Jonouchi.

"Hehehe, black-haired brat, I'll use 【Masked Beast Hell Monk】 to attack your face-down monster!"

You Tian: Oh? Don't you fear I might have a face-down 【Man-Eating Bug】 or something?

Too bad—I don't have that kind of card.

As 【Masked Beast Hell Monk】 attacked, You Tian's monster flipped face-up.

【Three-Eyed Monster】【Defense Power: 600】

With a thud, 【Three-Eyed Monster】 was sent to the Graveyard.

The Light Mask: "Is that all? Some trash?"

"Trash?" You Tian shook his head.

Sigh—the world has declined! A card permanently on the ban list is now called "trash"?

"【Three-Eyed Monster】's effect activates! When this card is sent to the Graveyard, I can select one monster with 1500 or less Attack Power from my Deck and add it to my hand."

"I choose this one—【Ten Thousand Hands God】."

"Hahaha!" The Light and Dark Mask suddenly laughed. "【Ten Thousand Hands God】?"

The Light and Dark Mask knew the effect of this card.

When 【Ten Thousand Hands God】 is Summoned, I can select one Ritual Monster or Ritual Magic from my Deck and add it to my hand.

It's certainly useful.

But the problem is—right now, the Light Mask has 【Mask of Sacrificial Seal】 on the field; You Tian cannot Tribute any monster to perform a Ritual Summon!

The Light Mask: "Kid, are you stupid? You can't Ritual Summon at all!"

Jonouchi also frowned.

You Tian: "Enough talk. Are you done or not?"

"What did you say!" The Light Mask flew into a rage.

You Tian dug in his ear, completely ignoring him.

This made the Light Mask uneasy.

The Light Mask: "Partner, do you think this guy's so confident because he has a card that can destroy 【Mask of Sacrificial Seal】?"

The Dark Mask: "Don't worry, partner!"

The Dark Mask gave him a knowing glance.

The Light Mask looked at the Dark Mask's face-down card and felt reassured.

"Fine! I'll see how you Ritual Summon! End turn!"

Upon hearing "End turn," You Tian finally turned his attention back.

"My turn, Draw Phase!"

"I Summon 【Ten Thousand Hands God】 in Attack Position."

【Attack Power: 1400】

"【Ten Thousand Hands God】's effect activates: When Summoned, I can take one Ritual Monster from my Deck."

"I choose—【Necroface】."

Light and Dark Mask: Hmph, just as expected.

"Kid, do you still not understand the situation? You can't Ritual Summon at all!" Light Mask mocked.

You Tian ignored him and continued his move.

"From my hand, I activate the Ritual Spell, 【High Ritual Art】."

"By its effect, I can send a Normal Monster from my Deck to the Graveyard to Ritual Summon from my hand a Ritual Monster whose Level is the same as that monster."

The Light and Dark Mask watched You Tian reciting to himself and couldn't help but laugh together.

Light Mask: "Is this guy sick? We already told him, he can't Ritual Summon at all — why won't he listen?"

Dark Mask: "Hahaha, probably knows he can't beat us, so he's amusing us!"

Jonouchi: "You two bastards! What are you saying!"

You Tian ignored the Light and Dark Mask's mockery and just kept going about his move on his own.

"I send 【Thousand-Eyed Cult God】 from my Deck to the Graveyard, Ritual Summon, 【Relinquished】."

Light Mask couldn't help but laugh even louder.

"Hahahaha, we already told you, you can't—"

Suddenly, Light Mask's mocking words froze on his lips.

Dark Mask was also dumbstruck.

Even Jonouchi beside them stared at You Tian's field with an expression of utter disbelief.

On You Tian's field, a Monster had abruptly appeared.

That Monster was — 【Relinquished】!
