Chapter 1121: The Power of the Shoulder Throw
Mo Ruhua looked at him and smiled lightly, saying, "Squad Leader Fu, you've taken good care of my family's Kaiyuan before. Now that our two families have become neighbors, your sister-in-law will surely visit often once she arrives."
Hearing her mention Chuxue, Fu Yan Cheng's eyebrows and eyes curved with a smile: "Your sister-in-law is easy to get along with. When she comes over, I'll introduce you two."
Though he said that, whether they could get along and whether they were willing to do so depended on his wife's wishes; he could not make decisions for his wife.
While they were washing their hands, Mo Ruhua had already set the dishes on the table. Since she didn't know anyone else would come, she had specially added a plate of stir-fried eggs and a bowl of pickles she brought from her hometown: "Squad Leader Fu, when is your sister-in-law coming?"
A few days ago, she had heard her own husband say that his sister-in-law would be arriving in a few days, and she had also noticed that Squad Leader Fu had been tidying up the house quite a bit these past few days.
Hearing the question, Fu Yan Cheng sighed softly in his heart but showed nothing on his face, thinking about what his wife might be doing right now.
Meanwhile, Chuxue, who was being missed by someone, was currently at the exhibition booth helping with the final preparations.
Each unit must complete its booth setup one day before the opening. After several days of effort, only some finishing touches remained. The Rolling Mill's booth this time was located next to the aisle; it wasn't very large, but the lighting was bright.
At this moment, Chuxue was pasting photos of the rolling process onto the display frame beside the exhibits. The photos showed rolling mills roaring as they pressed steel billets into thin sheets, and workers wearing hard hats busily working in the workshop. The last item pasted was the inspection report, so that merchants could see everything at a glance and it would be convenient for everyone to explain.
Seeing that everyone was nearly ready, Old Zhou clapped his hands: "The booth is all set. The exhibition opens at nine tomorrow morning. We need to enter the booth an hour early. Everyone has worked hard these past few days."
"Let's tidy up and have an early meal. Rest well tonight. Let's all bring our full energy and strive for a successful start."
Although everyone was tired, they were very excited. Hearing these words, they all said together, "Good."
After packing up their things, the group walked out.
This Canton Fair featured not only heavy industry, light industry, and textiles, but also agricultural and sideline specialties, chemical, and craft industries. As they walked outward, many booths were still being set up in a flurry of activity.
The core of the Canton Fair is foreign trade transactions, with the main function of facilitating export orders. Management of exhibitors is very strict, with identity checks at every entry and exit.
Old Zhou led everyone to a state-run restaurant not far from the guesthouse. He said he wanted to properly reward everyone, but it amounted to ordering two meat dishes and one vegetable dish, followed by a bowl of fried-sauce pork rice noodles for each person.
The rice noodles were blanched in hot water, then topped with pre-stir-fried meat sauce and a small amount of broth. The sauce aroma was rich; it had the freshness of rice products combined with meat and vegetables, offering a smooth and chewy texture. Chuxue quite liked this flavor, thinking that if she had the chance later, she would buy several portions to stock in her Space City, so she could occasionally change her taste after returning to Beijing City.
Everyone had indeed been tired these past few days. After the meal, they went straight back to the guesthouse.
Wan Qing and Chuxue, the only two women, naturally shared a room.
During the first two days after checking in, Wan Qing did nothing but try to assert her presence.
After Chuxue's multiple warnings proved useless, she could no longer tolerate it and simply grabbed Wan Qing and performed a shoulder throw. At first, Chuxue waited for Wan Qing to go complain to the team leader, but she waited until she nearly fell asleep, and the other woman made no move.
Since then, that person had been quiet. Chuxue didn't know if she was holding back some grand scheme or truly feared Chuxue's violent methods. In the days that followed, she no longer spoke sarcastically, and Chuxue's ears were finally at peace.
