Chapter 1220: Intercepting

Fu Yan Cheng did not want to ruin Liu Chuxue's good mood: "It's nothing major; I'll tell you when we get back."

Just then, Instructor Guo came out of the house with his second wife: "Thank you all for coming to my and Wang Sangyu's wedding despite your busy schedules. Tonight, eat and drink your fill."

Having spoken, he began to go from table to table with his wife to propose toasts.

When they reached the table where Liu Chuxue and the others sat, he introduced his wife: "This is Xiao Chuxue, the wife of Company Commander Fu; that is Mo Ruhua, the wife of Deputy Company Commander Shen. She used to be the sister-in-law of Battalion Commander Tao; just call her Tao Saozi."

After clinking glasses, Instructor Guo smiled: "I get along well with the men of these families, and I hope you all will get along happily too."

Tao Saozi, a straightforward woman, smiled and took up the conversation: "Rest assured, Instructor Guo; if we have any activities in the future, we will certainly invite your Wang Sangyu to join."

Instructor Guo smiled: "I was just waiting for you sisters-in-law to say that."

After the meal, Liu Chuxue had come to know quite a few military wives; of course, she had also mentally categorized which ones were worth befriending, which ones only needed to be kept on good terms superficially, and which ones were not to be befriended.

After eating, on the way home, Fu Yan Cheng finally told Liu Chuxue about the passing of the Qiu family's great-grandmother: "Dad said the burial will be in three days; I have already promised to go with him."

Liu Chuxue did not expect the Qiu great-grandmother to have passed away so soon: "Won't this affect your work?"

Fu Yan Cheng shook his head and said: "It's fine."

Liu Chuxue looked up at Fu Yan Cheng: "Then let's set the banquet for two days from now. On that day, I will go back to the city with you; the next day, I still need to return to the factory to handle some business."

Fu Yan Cheng nodded and agreed: "Good."

Thinking of ingredients, Liu Chuxue spoke: "I remember you mentioned there is a reservoir above Baifu Village; shall we go try our luck there tomorrow?"

"You want to go fishing?"

"Mm; if we have a catch, we can add another meat dish."

Seeing Liu Chuxue's eager expression, Fu Yan Cheng said: "Alright; then I'll call a few people to go with us tomorrow."

Liu Chuxue was solely focused on using her space tomorrow to catch more fish so they could have several more meat dishes, unaware that the Italian delegation at the Canton Fair had already arrived in the capital city and that the Young Lady Anna had also requested the reception unit to allow Liu Chuxue to serve as her personal translator.

However, when Factory Director Yang received the call, Qin Ruoyun happened to be in the office and overheard the matter: "Uncle Yang, why not let me try for this?"

A look of difficulty flashed across Factory Director Yang's face: "You heard it too; they directly requested Xiao Chuxue by name."

Qin Ruoyun coquettishly said: "Uncle Yang, just pretend this never happened; I will have my family handle the arrangements properly when the time comes."

Seeing that Factory Director Yang did not agree, Qin Ruoyun coquettishly pleaded: "Uncle Yang, just help me out; if it truly doesn't work out, letting her go later won't be too late."

Factory Director Yang had no choice but to agree.

The next day, Fu Yan Cheng took Liu Chuxue and the on-leave Company Commander Su to the reservoir not far from Baifu Village.

Liu Chuxue had prepared the bait in advance; after they arrived and found a good spot, they caught fish in no time. Company Commander Su looked surprised and said: "What kind of luck is this today? When have fish been this easy to catch?"

But as they caught more and more fish, he truly lost his composure: "Company Commander Fu, both buckets we brought are full."

Fu Yan Cheng was also puzzled; they had fished here before, but never had such a good catch: "It seems heaven is helping me; with this money, we can add at least two more meat dishes tomorrow."

Seeing that they had caught enough, Liu Chuxue secretly swapped the bait for ordinary bait.
