After watching for a long while with no more fish caught, Commander Su laughed and said, "Looks like even good luck runs out."

Fu Yan Cheng decided to stop while ahead: "Alright, while it's not too hot yet, hurry and take the fish to the canteen so they can help process them."

The three drove straight to the kitchen squad. Seeing the fish unloaded from the truck, everyone was shocked: "Where did all these fish come from?"

Fu Yan Cheng asked everyone to help carry them into the kitchen squad: "Squad Leader Zhao, didn't I say earlier I'd treat a few tables at the canteen tomorrow? With these fish, we'll add two dishes tomorrow, and the rest will improve everyone's meals."

Hearing that the leftovers were for them to handle, the kitchen squad was naturally overjoyed: "That's wonderful. I thank everyone on their behalf. Rest assured, tomorrow we'll definitely put on a great feast for you."

Fu Yan Cheng nodded: "I've already arranged for someone to buy the other ingredients; they'll be delivered first thing tomorrow morning."

After giving these instructions, they headed back.

Upon entering the courtyard, Liu Chuxue pointed to the backyard ground: "Fu Yan Cheng, go back and turn over the soil in the back. In a few days, find some vegetable seedlings to plant, so we can pick and eat as needed."

Fu Yan Cheng brought a basin of water over: "Alright, I'll listen to my wife. I'll turn over the ground this afternoon. Later, I'll say hello to Tao Saozi; she's raised quite a few seedlings herself. If she has any left, ask her to save some for us."

He grabbed a Mao Jin and came over: "Wipe yourself down. I'll go to the canteen to get rice in a bit, then check the supply point to see if there are any eggs. If there are, I'll make dumplings for you tonight."

Before Fu Yan Cheng could even get to the canteen, Mo Ruhua from next door ran over: "Liu Chuxue, don't cook lunch today. I made minced meat noodles; come taste my cooking."

Since she had already made it, they couldn't refuse. Liu Chuxue smiled: "Alright, then we'll taste your cooking today. You go back first; we'll tidy up and come over shortly."

After Liu Chuxue wiped herself down and changed clothes, she pointed to the fish they had specifically set aside: "Take this fish too; one shouldn't visit with empty hands."

Fu Yan Cheng had no objection: "Alright, we'll take this fish to them. If you want to eat, I'll go fishing again when I get back."

Liu Chuxue said nothing, thinking: You think fish are really that easy to catch? Without my bait, today's catch might have been nothing at all.

Mo Ruhua's minced meat noodles were truly excellent, leaving everyone thoroughly satisfied: "Mo Ruhua, we're making dumplings tonight. You two should come over in the evening."

Mo Ruhua was not a shy person: "Alright, then I'll come over early this afternoon to help you."

Originally, they thought buying meat in the afternoon would be difficult, so they planned to buy some eggs instead, then go to Tao Saozi's house to cut some chives for a chive-and-egg filling.

However, when Fu Yan Cheng arrived, he saw a large piece of meat still on the cutting board. After asking, he learned it had originally been reserved by someone above, but for some reason, they hadn't come to pick it up.

The weather was too hot; the meat wouldn't keep. Since the pickup time had passed, they wouldn't wait any longer.

Just as they were taking it out, Fu Yan Cheng arrived. Thinking of his pregnant wife, he not only bought meat but also remembered to buy eggs, planning to make two different fillings so she wouldn't be picky due to her pregnancy.

When he got home, Tao Saozi had just arrived to deliver chives: "I've planted quite a few in my backyard. If you need more, just go cut some; this stuff grows incredibly fast."

Seeing that Fu Yan Cheng had returned not only with eggs but also with meat, Liu Chuxue immediately called out to Tao Saozi: "Sister-in-law, have dinner here tonight. It'll be lively, and you can tell me about the situation in the family compound so I'm not completely in the dark."
