Chapter 1274: Translation Certificate Obtained

Liu Chuxue's translation certification exam went very smoothly; first came the written test. With an hour allotted, she actually finished in less than half an hour, but seeing others still answering, she did not hand in her paper just yet.

After patiently checking it once more, she entered the space with her consciousness; her aunt was leaving in a few days, and she had not yet prepared her gift of thanks.

When time was nearly up, the proctor above, seeing she had not moved for a long while, walked down.

Seeing she had already finished the paper, he stood there and read it; just this glance made his heart race. When he finished one side and raised his hand to turn the page, Liu Chuxue also reacted, but she did not make a scene; she merely looked up at the teacher once before returning to normal.

After the proctor finished reading the paper, the exam ended.

The papers were graded on the spot; the examinees waited outside for over half an hour before the results were posted.

After all, not many had registered; three teachers graded the papers inside, then cross-checked twice before releasing the results.

Today, thirteen people took the exam; seven were immediately eliminated. Those on the list were beaming with joy; those not on the list, though their expressions were dim, were unwilling to leave just like that.

Below, there was still an oral interpretation exam; one must pass both to obtain the translation certificate, and the exam was very strict.

This exam proceeded according to registration order; Liu Chuxue was the last to enter. The teachers inside, having seen her written test paper, were deeply impressed by her.

What they did not expect was that Liu Chuxue not only ranked first in the written test but could even serve as a simultaneous interpreter for the oral portion; one teacher simply had her translate a passage, and the result was very gratifying.

The final result was something Liu Chuxue had not expected either: among the remaining six, three obtained the Junior Translation Certificate, while Liu Chuxue obtained the Intermediate Translation Certificate; this meant the fees for future translation manuscripts would differ.

It was simply enough to make others envious.

Upon leaving, one teacher proactively asked Liu Chuxue for her contact address; Liu Chuxue thought it was not a bad thing, so she did not refuse.

The very moment she received the certificate, she went directly to the Xinhua Bookstore; unexpectedly, upon entering, it was exactly the person she had asked about during her first visit: "Comrade, I have obtained the translation certificate and wish to pick up some materials to translate."

That person, seeing the Intermediate Translation Certificate in Liu Chuxue's hand, widened his eyes: "You directly took the Intermediate Certificate?"

Liu Chuxue smiled slightly: "Good luck; I merely encountered a connoisseur."

"Oh, you are truly modest; without true talent and learning, how could you have obtained it?"

Having finished speaking, he pointed to the second floor: "Follow me; the translation matters are handled by the Director; I will take you up now."

The two went up to the second floor and walked to the middle office; Sister Zheng, who had brought Liu Chuxue up, lightly knocked on the door, then heard "Come in" from inside.

Sister Zheng pushed the door open: "Director Wu, Comrade Xiao has just obtained the Intermediate Translation Certificate and wishes to pick up some materials to translate."

Hearing it was the Intermediate Translation Certificate, Director Wu straightened his body: "Come in and speak."

Sister Zheng signaled for Liu Chuxue to enter, then turned and returned to the first floor.

After looking at Liu Chuxue's translation certificate, Director Wu said: "Obtaining the Intermediate Translation Certificate at such a young age is remarkable."

Hearing the praise, Liu Chuxue did not be modest this time; she merely wore a proper smile at the corner of her mouth.

The two chatted for a few more moments; Director Wu rose and took several books from the iron cabinet behind him: "These books all urgently need translation; take a look."
