Chapter 1347: Don't Falsely Accuse People

~4 min read 723 words

This is a military hospital; how could anyone dare to cause trouble here and simply get away with it? Immediately, several men in military uniforms rushed out in the direction he pointed.

Seeing people go after him, Tao Saozi leaned against the doorframe, gasping for air, trying hard to calm herself down.

With such a commotion, Yu Rong on the bed was naturally awakened: "Mom."

Hearing her daughter call her, Tao Saozi gripped the doorframe for a moment before walking toward her daughter. After pulling the child into her arms, a wave of fear washed over her; if she had returned even a little later, the consequences would have been unthinkable.

At this moment, the person Tao Saozi had previously entrusted walked in: "Didn't you go to cook porridge? Why are you back?"

Tao Saozi didn't even know how to explain it to her; thinking about it, she truly couldn't blame the woman; it was her own negligence.

The woman, seeing she remained silent, asked: "What's wrong with you?"

Tao Saozi looked at her with a complex expression: "Where did you just go?"

The woman pointed to the nutritional supplements on the bedside table: "My eldest sister and cousin came to visit me, so I went downstairs to see them off."

But as soon as she said this, she sensed something was off: "Did something happen?"

Tao Saozi frowned: "Didn't you hear the shouting?"

The woman looked utterly confused: "What shouting?"

Just then, someone in the hallway shouted loudly: "Caught him."

The moment the words fell, two soldiers in military uniforms were seen escorting a man in a gray Zhongshan suit inside.

Before anyone could ask, Tao Saozi shouted angrily: "Yes, it's this man; he tried to steal the child."

Upon hearing this, the man said: "You're talking nonsense; I came to visit a patient. Don't falsely accuse people."

As he spoke, he pointed to the woman on the adjacent bed: "If you don't believe me, ask her."

Seeing that the man was pointing at the person she had previously entrusted, Tao Saozi realized the situation was not simple. She turned to the soldier holding the man and said: "Please send someone to find the unit leaders; I have something important to report."

Hearing this, the man struggled in fear: "Comrade, what is your problem? I already said I came to visit a patient. On what grounds do you accuse me?"

He tried hard to avoid suspicion, but the more he acted this way, the more suspicious Tao Saozi became. However, she didn't want to say anything now; she was just waiting for the leaders to arrive.

The unit office building was not too far from the hospital; by car, it took only a dozen minutes to arrive.

Perhaps Tao Saozi was lucky today; the soldier who had run downstairs to find a phone happened to meet the leaders who had come to visit Fu Yan Cheng, and he immediately stepped forward to report.

Upon hearing that someone dared to steal a child from a military hospital, the leaders were alarmed: "Lead the way."

The visitors were Division Commander Guan and Regiment Commander Zhang of the Third Regiment. As soon as they entered, they saw Tao Saozi, the wife of Deputy Battalion Commander Tao, clutching the child tightly with a defensive look on her face.

Division Commander Guan spoke first: "Comrade Huang Juxiu, what exactly happened?"

Seeing Division Commander Guan and the others, Tao Saozi felt her backing had arrived and recounted the entire story: "This is what happened; I personally saw this man acting furtively, trying to pick up my daughter. As soon as I began to question him, he tried to flee regardless of the consequences. If it hadn't been for our unit's soldiers helping, he might have gotten away."

As she spoke, she looked with a complex expression at the woman from before: "This man claims he came to visit her, yet she says she went to the first floor to see off her eldest sister and cousin who came to visit her. With such a huge commotion earlier, she didn't hear a thing, and when she came in, she even asked me what was wrong? I..."

At this point, she stopped speaking; after all, it was only her speculation, and she felt a bit embarrassed to say certain things.
