The last time they hosted a gathering, this man was there too. Judging by the tone of their conversation, it was clear the two had a good relationship.

"Did you drive here, or did you come on foot?"

Fu Yan Cheng looked at Chuxue: "My wife needs to pick up some daily necessities. May we hitch a ride in your vehicle?"

Regiment Commander Ye nodded: "Then let's go. I'll see this kindness through; later, I'll have Xiao Jiang bring her back."

Fu Yan Cheng was now reassured: "Alright. I'll treat you to a meal later."

Since Fu Yan Cheng had already arranged it with him, she naturally didn't put on airs. Although the military hospital wasn't too far from the family compound, if there was a vehicle to hitch a ride in, who would willingly walk back?

Regiment Commander Ye kept his word. Upon reaching the military unit, he got straight out of the car: "Xiao Jiang, you will be responsible for taking her back to the hospital later, then returning the vehicle."

After the driver acknowledged, he drove Chuxue directly to her doorstep.

As soon as she got out of the car, Mo Ruhua ran over: "Chuxue, how is your husband, Company Commander Fu?"

While opening the main gate, Chuxue replied, "He injured his back again. The situation is still manageable, but he needs IV fluids for anti-inflammation at the hospital for a few days. I came back to fetch some things. I can't talk long right now."

Seeing the car stop and not leave, Mo Ruhua understood: "You go ahead and handle things. If you need help, just say the word."

Chuxue nodded: "Thank you."

After a quick tidy-up, she hurriedly got back into the car.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Xiao Wu helped carry the items to the ward before leaving.

Chuxue took out a cup and handed a book to Fu Yan Cheng, who was lying on the bed: "I brought a book to keep you company. Read it while I go fetch water."

This small gesture made Company Commander Zheng in the next bed deeply envious. His own wife had visited, yet she hadn't given him a single thought.
