Chapter 1655: Fourth Uncle, Is Something Wrong with Your Eyes?

~4 min read 761 words

Now, the once majestic Zui Feng, utterly resigned to his fate, is serving as a mount for the children, sparking such enthusiasm in them that none wish to return indoors.

Liu Chuxue feared the children would catch a cold, so she had to call Zui Feng inside as well.

Liu Chuxue prepared to head to the kitchen to help: "Fu Yan Cheng, you watch them; I'll go to the kitchen to lend a hand."

Fu Yan Cheng pulled her over: "Better I go to the kitchen; you stay here and watch them."

How could Liu Chuxue agree? The kitchen was full of women; it wouldn't be proper for a grown man like him to go over: "You stay and watch the children; I'll go to the kitchen. I also want to chat with Mom and Sister-in-law; I can't abandon the ranks of the women comrades."

Fu Yan Cheng said with a doting expression: "Fine, then notify me whenever you want to switch shifts."

Having spoken, he even reached out and pinched Liu Chuxue's nose.

Liu Chuxue slapped his hand away, coquettishly chiding: "Don't always be touching me; my nose is about to be pinched flat by you."

That scoundrel Fu Yan Cheng glanced left and right, saw no one paying them attention, and then quickly kissed Liu Chuxue on the cheek: "Is it okay if I use my mouth?"

Liu Chuxue reacted, reaching out to slap at him: "You are truly too annoying."

Fu Yan Cheng raised his hand and caught the hand she was swinging at him: "Fine, fine, fine, I'll be annoying then, okay?"

Just as Liu Chuxue relaxed, the fellow kissed her forehead again, then released her and hurried into the midst of the children: "Come, come, come, I'll help you ride Zui Feng; let's see who looks the most majestic."

As he spoke, he even turned his head and smiled at Liu Chuxue.

Liu Chuxue glared at him, turned, and walked out the door, not forgetting to add a reminder: "You make sure to watch them well."

Fu Yan Cheng, seeing the children weren't watching him, actually gave Liu Chuxue a flirtatious wink, only to be spotted by his eldest nephew, Fu Jincheng: "Fourth Uncle, is something wrong with your eyes?"

Upon hearing those words, Liu Chuxue, who had just stepped out the door, burst out laughing.

The eldest sister-in-law, Guo Wenjing, happened to come out to get a head of Chinese cabbage, preparing to chop filling for dumplings, and saw Liu Chuxue laughing uncontrollably: "What's going on? Why are you laughing while leaning against the wall?"

Fu Yan Cheng, inside the house, hearing his sister-in-law's words, fearing his wife would sell him out, quickly interjected: "I just told him a funny story about a comrade-in-arms, and now he can't stop laughing."

But the nephew exposed him again: "Fourth Uncle, you're lying; just now you clearly said, 'Fine, fine, fine, I'll be annoying then, okay?'"

Now even Guo Wenjing was laughing so hard she couldn't straighten her back.

Fu Yan Ming, hearing their conversation in the courtyard, had a smile on his lips: "Son, what nonsense are you speaking that happens to be the truth?"

Now everyone else standing in the courtyard also burst out laughing.

Even Father Fu laughed, but as an elder father-in-law, he felt it improper, so he walked toward the outer gate: "I'll go out for a stroll; I'll be back in a while."

Yet as soon as he stepped out the main gate, he leaned against the wall and started laughing: I never expected Fourth to be bested by that kid Jincheng; it's truly hilarious.

Mother Fu, standing at the kitchen door, seeing her youngest son's flustered state, also started laughing.

Fu Yan Cheng took a deep breath: "Take it easy; don't laugh yourselves into a fit."

Liu Chuxue had barely managed to stop laughing, but upon hearing his words, she started laughing again.

Mother Fu, finally unable to bear it: "Enough, enough; if you keep laughing, you won't be eating New Year's Eve dinner tonight?"

Fu Jincheng looked at his grandmother and asked seriously: "Grandma, why won't we be eating New Year's Eve dinner?"

Mother Fu rolled her eyes at her eldest grandson: "Because you're stuffed from laughing, of course."

Fu Jincheng then added another line: "Grandma, they are stuffed from laughing, but we haven't laughed."

As he spoke, he turned and pointed at the younger brothers and sisters behind him.

Who laughed first, no one knew; anyway, uproarious laughter erupted throughout the Fu family courtyard, leaving the children utterly bewildered.
