Chapter 1740: Visiting the Sick

Liu Chuxue waved her hand and said, "We are going to visit the sick out of genuine sincerity; besides, if we are to give a gift, we should give it straight to their heart. No need to overthink it."

Fu Yan Cheng saw that his wife had spoken thus and said, "Very well, we will do as my wife says."

He knew his wife had secrets; though curious, he would not bring them up on his own initiative. As long as they did not harm the nation or hurt her, everything else was secondary.

The two carried their things out and said, "Auntie Wei, Yan Cheng and I are going out for a bit."

Auntie Wei was accompanying the three little ones digging in the yard and said, "Go ahead. In a while, I will take them back to the village to visit some old sisters from before."

Liu Chuxue replied as she walked out, "Alright. When I return, I will come to the village to pick you up."

She had thought the three little ones would at least chase after them, but instead, the three little ones said in unison, "Dad, Mom, goodbye."

Liu Chuxue immediately turned her head to look, her face full of disbelief.

Seeing that the three little ones hadn't even moved from their spot, she turned to Fu Yan Cheng and asked, "What is going on? Am I no longer popular in the military compound?"

Fu Yan Cheng placed his hands on Liu Chuxue's shoulders, pushed her toward the passenger side, opened the car door while saying, "They have grown up. They can even be sent to the Yu Hong class when school starts, so naturally they won't cling to you."

Though he said this, he was actually extremely guilty. After arranging his work, he had specifically requested leave from above, thinking to take her out for some time alone.

Ever since the triplets were born, his wife's thoughts had been entirely focused on the three children; then, just when the children had finally grown a bit, the college entrance exam was restored.

Now that his wife had finally returned to the military compound, he wanted to push everything aside and cling to her.

After closing the car door for his wife, he jogged back to the driver's seat and said, "Wife, there is a private snack stall opening in an alley not far from the military hospital. Everyone says the taste is very authentic. Since we are coming out after visiting Sister-in-law, how about we go try it too?"

Liu Chuxue looked up at him and asked, "Aren't you in a hurry to return to the regiment today?"

Fu Yan Cheng started the car, reached out, and grabbed Liu Chuxue's hand, saying, "I have taken leave today to accompany you."

He even mimicked the way she had teased people before, hooking her palm with his fingertip.

Liu Chuxue tried to pull her hand out, but Fu Yan Cheng, as if he had a premonition, held on tightly and wouldn't let go, saying, "Wife, let me hold it for a while longer."

Liu Chuxue glanced at him sideways and said, "Fu Yan Cheng, you have learned to be bad."

Fu Yan Cheng turned his head to look at her and asked, "Do you like it?"

Liu Chuxue glared at him, but in the end, she honestly nodded and said, "It's not bad."

Fu Yan Cheng was happy now.

The hospital was not far away to begin with, so they arrived quickly. Getting out of the car and carrying their things, they found Geng Yanwen's ward and happened to see her niece, who was a teacher at the City No. 1 Middle School, there as well.

After Liu Chuxue smiled and nodded at Yu Chunmei, Fu Yan Cheng pulled her to stand not far from the bed of Division Commander's wife Geng Yanwen and said, "Sister-in-law, are you feeling better?"

Geng Yanwen did not expect the couple to come together; she looked at Liu Chuxue and asked, "Have you started your holiday?"

Liu Chuxue stepped forward and said, "Yes, just started the holiday; I only returned to the military compound yesterday."

A trace of apology flashed across Geng Yanwen's face, and she said, "We really caused you trouble. You haven't even rested yet, and you still ran over to see me."

Liu Chuxue wore a proper smile on her face and said, "What kind of talk is that, Sister-in-law? The Division Commander treats Yan Cheng as a junior; he told me himself that he often comes to your place to mooch meals. I am truly grateful."

Liu Chuxue thought of something and pointed to the bag, saying, "I happened to get a ginseng root recently. Add a slice or two when you stew soup; it will be just right to gently tonify the body."

Geng Yanwen had wanted to decline, but then she heard Liu Chuxue joke, "Yan Cheng has mooched meals at your home quite a lot. If you are still so polite with us, he might be too embarrassed to come over and mooch meals in the future."
