Chapter 2: A Heart Full of Rage

~4 min read 641 words

Before she could recover, another sharp pain hit her head, followed by a flood of memories.

No wonder those two were wearing patched clothes; she had died paragliding and transmigrated to 1975.

The original owner was also named Liu Chuxue, seventeen years old, living in Liushu Village, Changping County, not far from the capital.

Her father had been injured by a falling rock at a reservoir construction site yesterday. Her mother had rushed to the clinic upon hearing the news, and last night, someone sent word that his condition was poor and the clinic advised transferring him to a higher-level hospital.

Early this morning, her grandparents went to the clinic to check on him. The original owner was supposed to go too, thinking she could stop by the clinic before heading to her high school at the commune.

But her eldest aunt, Ge Xiulan, had persuaded her grandparents to let her go to the North Suburb Farm to deliver a message to her married sister and ask the brother-in-law for money, using the excuse that her father needed it for his leg.

To get from Liushu Village to the North Suburb Farm, one had to cross the mountain. She had barely entered the mountain when she was drugged from behind.

Connecting this to the conversation she had overheard, she realized the original owner had been set up by her own family. She was all too familiar with Ge Xiulan's voice from her memories; there was no mistake.

This realization filled Liu Chuxue, the outsider, with rage. She wanted to beat them to a pulp right now. She couldn't understand why Ge Xiulan would do this.

Based on her experience reading countless novels and watching dramas in her past life, there was only one possibility: profit.

Just as she was deep in thought, she heard rustling outside the cave. She became vigilant. Her situation was dire; whether it was a person or a wild animal, she was a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

Soon, the rocks blocking the entrance were moved, and someone crawled in.

Liu Chuxue’s heart jumped to her throat; she didn't dare breathe.

The man who entered had a resolute face, but he was clearly in bad shape. Upon seeing the situation in the cave, he froze for a moment.

Fu Yan Cheng had stayed in this cave during a previous mission. He had assumed someone was hiding game here, hence the rocks, but he hadn't expected to find a girl.

When Liu Chuxue saw the man in a military uniform, she let out a huge sigh of relief and immediately called for help: "Comrade soldier, please help me."

Fu Yan Cheng was already exhausted, his face deathly pale, but hearing her plea, he gritted his teeth and moved forward a few steps, finally seeing her condition.

Enduring the agonizing pain, he knelt halfway in front of her, pulled a dagger from his boot, and used his last bit of strength to cut the ropes on her hands before collapsing against the cave wall.

This startled Liu Chuxue, who was about to thank him: "Comrade, what's wrong?"

As soon as she asked, she smelled blood and asked in panic: "Are you injured?"

Fu Yan Cheng looked at the beautiful girl, raised his hand to his chest, and tried to pull something from his pocket, but his strength was gone; he failed several times.

Liu Chuxue had struggled to a sitting position. Seeing his movement, she quickly asked: "What do you want to do?"

Seeing the pen in his pocket, she guessed: "Do you want to write something?"

Fu Yan Cheng hadn't expected the girl to be so sharp and nodded slightly.

Liu Chuxue flexed her stiff wrists. Seeing a pair of slightly rough hands, she was momentarily stunned; she really had transmigrated into someone else. ===== CHAPTER 3 =====
