Chapter 374: Assessment
After all, she had heard that these job postings had just been put up, and they were placed in a very hidden spot; if people didn't look closely, they wouldn't easily find them.
Even if someone wanted to go back and notify their family, there simply wasn't enough time.
Her original self was already a good student, let alone Liu Chuxue, who had graduated from a prestigious university; moreover, to ensure she would pass, she had reviewed all the textbooks from elementary through high school, plus the Red Book, over the past few days. With a super brain as her backing, she had memorized every single punctuation mark.
She took the test paper, glanced through the questions once, and only then began to write.
In less than twenty minutes, she had finished everything, checked it twice, confirmed there were no issues, and raised her hand.
The comrade in charge of proctoring saw her raise her hand and walked over: "Comrade, have you encountered some problem?"
Liu Chuxue pointed at the test paper: "I have finished answering."
Upon hearing her words, that person raised their wrist and checked the time: "Are you sure you want to submit the paper now?"
Liu Chuxue nodded: "Yes."
That person reached out, took her paper, and said in a low voice: "The other assessment items are on the second floor."
Liu Chuxue thanked him quietly; to avoid disturbing others taking the exam, she left the examination room through the back door.
Yet even so, she created an invisible pressure on the others in the examination room.
Once out of the exam room, she went straight upstairs. She had been thinking about whether to ask someone for directions, but she saw that the door of the first room on the left had a sign for the foreign language assessment point, and the door of the first room on the right had a sign for the abacus assessment point.
Liu Chuxue first knocked on the door of the abacus assessment room, and a voice came from inside: "Please come in."
Liu Chuxue pushed the door open and entered.
Inside, a slightly plump female comrade asked: "Is there something you need?"
Liu Chuxue hadn't expected her to ask that, but she quickly understood; the woman probably thought that at this hour, everyone should still be taking the exam, so anyone coming in now wouldn't be someone participating in the assessment.
Liu Chuxue smiled slightly: "I am here to participate in the abacus assessment for the accounting position."
The female comrade who had just spoken looked Liu Chuxue up and down: "You finished the exam that quickly?"
Liu Chuxue nodded: "Yes."
All six people in the room turned to look at her.
One of them, a male comrade who seemed to be a leader, spoke first: "Come on, come on, everyone, get moving."
After speaking, he pointed to the abacus in the middle of the room: "Go over there; we will begin the assessment now."
Liu Chuxue walked over, and someone handed her an account book: "Calculate the accounts on the first three pages."
Although in her previous life, after starting work, she had used calculators and computers, this abacus task couldn't stump her. When she was young, her parents were busy with work, and she was raised entirely by her maternal grandparents; her grandfather was an old accountant who, whenever he had free time, liked to take out his abacus to play with her.
Thinking of her grandfather, her eyes reddened involuntarily. That person who had loved her so deeply had ultimately left the world in such a tragic manner; even now, when she thought of it, she found it hard to accept.
The reminder from the person supervising the assessment brought her back to her senses: "Are you ready?"
Liu Chuxue nodded: "Ready."
Then she heard the assessor say: "Begin."
Liu Chuxue held her left index finger on the account book, her right hand rapidly flicking the abacus beads, while her eyes remained fixed on the ledger; the speed of her movements made the people in the room gasp in amazement.
In less than a minute, the result was announced.
The several people responsible for the assessment exchanged glances for a moment, not expecting this young girl, who wasn't even that big, to be so skilled at the abacus.
Someone, unwilling to believe it, took over a notebook that had been prepared in advance: "I will read out the numbers; you calculate them."
Liu Chuxue nodded: "Okay."
