Chapter 159: Back to Beijing, the Enchanting Elder Sister-in-Law

~7 min read 1,227 words

Upon hearing this, Xu Yuexin and Mei Naizi exchanged glances.

At least this 1 billion USD is what he can secure for his child.

"Did Kīchirō leave a will or anything of that sort before he died?"

Mei Naizi asked further.

She and Old Watanabe have long lived apart, so there are some matters she isn't sure the female Bodyguard knows.

"I'm certain there isn't one; Mr. Watanabe is a man who avoids talking about death."

"Someone once suggested he make a will, and he scolded them harshly."

The female Bodyguard replied.

Mei Naizi frowned: If Watanabe had ever made a will stipulating that, should the two have a child, the entire inheritance would go to the child, the matter would become much simpler.

Xu Yuexin thought for a moment, pointed at the safe, and asked, "Do you know what's inside here?"

The question made the female Bodyguard pause, as if weighing whether to reveal it.

Xu Yuexin and Mei Naizi were not in a hurry, and quietly waited for her to speak.

The female Bodyguard's expression shifted, from stunned to hesitant, then finally resolute.

"It's something very important—so important that Mr. Watanabe has never let me see it."

The female Bodyguard said slowly, "But I heard him discuss with the elders of the family; inside are some unfavorable records about the early rise of the Watanabe family."

"The elders seemed to value this highly; at that time he asked Mr. Watanabe for the safe, but Watanabe refused."

"The two had a fierce argument over it and eventually left on bad terms."

"That's all I've seen."

"Alright, you go upstairs and rest yourself."

Xu Yuexin rested his chin on one hand, fell into thought, and instructed the female Bodyguard.

The female Bodyguard understood that Xu Yuexin needed to discuss matters with Mei Naizi, and sensibly left.

"I recall you said the Watanabe family started out as a soap factory, right?"

After the Bodyguard stepped away for a moment, Xu Yuexin whispered to Mei Naizi, "That's a heavily polluting industry."

"Exactly, and in the 1950s their family entered the mercury processing business—a sector even more polluting than soap making."

"Hmm, the data in the safe must be something that could doom the entire Watanabe family."

"For example, environmental investigation reports."

Xu Yuexin said, "Old Watanabe kept these records to check the power of the family elders."

"I agree with your assessment."

Mei Naizi nodded, "After Watanabe seized the wealth left by my father, he used it as capital to drive the family's business transformation."

"One could say the past misdeeds of the Watanabe family weren't much his doing; they were largely the work of the older generation."

"And if these records were made public, they would only cause severe losses to the chemical businesses under the Watanabe name, not affect the enterprises he personally built."

"The only question now is how we open the safe…"

"Perhaps we don't need to open it."

Xu Yuexin smiled and interjected, "Have you heard of the Empty City Strategy?"

"I've read *Romance of the Three Kingdoms*."

Mei Naizi nodded enthusiastically, "You mean we only need to let the Watanabe family know the safe is in our hands, right?"

"Smart."

Xu Yuexin laughed, pinched Mei Naizi's cheek, and said.

Mei Naizi wasn't shy at all; instead she threw herself into Xu Yuexin's arms, hugging him, "We're the best partners."

"Don't think I'm doing this for anything else; it's for our child."

Xu Yuexin curled his lip, held Mei Naizi's waist, and said.

He had made up his mind: finish this job and then return home! …

In the days that followed, Xu Yuexin connected Mei Naizi with Aunt Cheng, who would serve as the legal team during her negotiations with the Watanabe family.

Then, using the Empty City Strategy he mentioned, they negotiated with the members of the Watanabe family.

The negotiation ended with Mei Naizi achieving a complete victory, securing the vast majority of assets for herself and her unborn child.

Among them were shares in the Watanabe family's daily consumer goods group, as well as the hotel, golf course, office buildings, and other properties left by Old Watanabe.

Seeing such a perfect outcome, Xu Yuexin felt it was time for him to leave. With so much money, his child with Mei Naizi could live a carefree life.

"Xu Jun, once I've settled all the enterprises, I'll make a trip to Beijing."

"I hope to see you then."

Inside the terminal of Chengtian Jichang, Mei Naizi, radiant, said to Xu Yuexin.

"Never mind, Du Bian Tai Tai."

"Just focus on raising our child well."

Xu Yuexin took a breath, waved his hand, and said.

"No, now it's Mrs. Xu."

Mei Naizi, with a flirtatious glance, said.

"As I told you, I have a household."

"Well, your household is me; I'm the legitimate wife."

"Because so far, I'm the only one who's given you a child."

Mei Naizi laughed, her tone assertive.

"Fine, I'll admit you have me cornered."

Xu Yuexin gave a wry smile, placed a hand on his forehead and said, "I'm about to board, you go back."

"No, I want to stay with you until you board."

Mei Naizi insisted.

"Fine, if you love to wait, then wait."

Xu Yuexin thought to himself.

After a short while, the boarding gate opened; Xu Yuexin finished checking his ticket and walked toward the boarding passage.

Mei Naizi waved at him reluctantly, "Xu Jun, farewell."

Xu Yuexin hesitated a moment, then, as if compelled, replied with a "Mm."

He boarded the plane, it took off, and landed.

Three hours later, the flight landed at Capital International Airport.

Xu Yuexin met Chen Yixue, who was waiting at the airport exit.

Before returning, Xu Yuexin had sent a telegram to Chen Qiaoqiao and Chen Yixue.

Because Chen Qiaoqiao was on a field investigation and couldn't return, in the end Chen Yixue came to pick him up.

In the sunlight, Chen Yixue wore a white chiffon shirt, the soft fabric barely concealed her proud bust.

The black high‑waist midi skirt perfectly outlined Chen Yixue's figure; her long, beautiful legs perched on strapped high heels, making her appear even taller and striking.

"I haven't been around these days; what have you been busy with?"

While heading toward the Dispatch Point for a taxi, Xu Yuexin asked Da Yizi.

"I went to Guangzhou, and also to Xiangjiang."

"Mainly to sell songs."

Da Yizi replied cheerfully.

"How many parties did you negotiate with, and how much did you sell for?"

"I negotiated with five firms; the four in Guangzhou gave me 90,000 yuan, and Xiangjiang gave 1,200,000 Hong Kong Dollars."

"That's good; when did you learn to negotiate?"

"I learned it from you."

Da Yizi flashed a charming smile, and her words were tinged with self‑sarcasm: "I'm not stupid; I've read it so many times and still can't get it?"

"What about you? Why did it take you so long to return from Tokyo?"

"Did you encounter a tricky problem in business?"

"Exactly, I dealt with a bit of trouble."

Xu Yuexin said vaguely, he couldn't possibly tell Da Yizi that this trip to Tokyo resulted in a child.

"Oh? How big of a trouble is it?"

Da Yizi looked at him with doubt, saying, "Logically, you're in finance and investment, so you shouldn't encounter anything serious."
