Chapter 34: One Shot, Double Eggs

~9 min read 1,757 words

A chilling howl came from nearby.

Su Qing felt a chill in his heart, without hesitation he swiftly retreated backward; the next moment, a ferocious claw scraped past his nose.

Then he felt a huge force strike him, as if hit by a runaway truck, and his body flew backward.

Fortunately he was not an ordinary person; after a brief loss of control he steadied himself in midair, planted a foot on the wall to dissipate the force, but the werewolf had already closed in, swinging a claw straight for his head.

Su Qing stayed calm, blocking with his right hand holding the knife horizontally, and his left hand produced a pistol.

"Bang bang bang..."

The revolver spun rapidly; in a few breaths, all six bullets were fired, all striking the werewolf's head.

Nevertheless the bald werewolf was too tough, he took the bullets head-on and charged straight to his face, opening his mouth to bite his neck.

Su Qing had no choice but to keep retreating backward, but saw the werewolf switch from bite to claw, its sharp claws thrusting straight at his chest.

Su Qing swung his knife to counterattack, and the werewolf did not back down, choosing to meet force with force.

"Clang..."

The clash of blade and claw produced a metallic clang, then a huge force transmitted along the blade, which Su Qing struggled to block.

But the power gap between vampire and werewolf would not change just because he was a transmigrator.

Su Qing gathered all his strength into the blade, but after barely holding for a minute he collapsed, face red and neck thick, forced to retreat again, looking for a chance to escape.

Yet the bald werewolf pressed on relentlessly; after just a few moves Su Qing was driven into a desperate situation with no chance to flee.

Damn!

Su Qing hardened his resolve, discarded the useless pistol, drew another Dog Leg Knife from his person, and with both hands gripping the blade he advanced instead of retreating, launching an attack on the bald werewolf.

"Whoa..."

Seeing this, the bald werewolf's eyes flashed with ferocity; if he had been playing before, now he had truly decided to kill.

He let out a howl, his savage nature erupting; at this moment he no longer cared about Kailwen's demands, baring his fang-filled teeth and charging straight forward.

On the other side, the disheveled Jiexika saw the situation, knowing that whether she could return alive to the main house today depended on Su Qing.

Thus, ignoring her own injuries, she stood up, picked up her dual pistols, and fired at the werewolf, hoping to lend some support.

Returning to the center of the battlefield.

Su Qing and the werewolf had already collided.

"Pfft!"

Upon contact, the immense force shook Su Qing so violently his internal organs shifted, and he couldn't help spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood.

But at that moment the werewolf, from the impact, exposed a vulnerability in his head.

Such a good opportunity, Su Qing would not let it pass; he slashed straight at the werewolf's head, thinking to trade his life for a bite at worst.

But the werewolf raised his head, changed his attack to bite and caught the Dog Leg Knife, then thrust his claws forward, delivering a gut-piercing blow to Su Qing.

"Hiss! Damn it!" Su Qing's lips trembled from the pain, but fortunately he had experienced something similar the night before and could still endure; hardening his resolve, his other hand swung the Dog Leg Knife hard into the werewolf's head.

This vicious strike hit the werewolf's head, sinking in only half an inch.

But even with such an injury, the werewolf remained fierce and unkillable; he shook his arms and flung Su Qing away.

Su Qing was thrown five or six meters, slamming into the wall before barely stopping; at the same time his throat felt sweet and another mouthful of old blood spurted out.

The werewolf staggered, the wound on his forehead healing rapidly, and he still wanted to press the attack.

But Jiexika's support finally arrived.

Only to see her aim precise, each shot hitting the wound on the werewolf's head.

"Whoa..."

The Silver Bullets added injury upon injury; seeing Su Qing's abdominal wound also healing, the werewolf knew continuing would not end well.

So he simply turned and fled, in a few leaps scaling a high building and vanishing into the rainy night.

"Are you okay?" Jiexika had no intention of giving chase; she turned and jogged over to Su Qing.

"No, I have something to do first." Su Qing wiped the blood from his lips, worried about Selinna, shoved aside the approaching Jiexika, grabbed his knife, and pursued in the direction Selinna had gone.

Having watched Su Qing and the werewolf fight all along, Jiexika's impression of Su Qing underwent a major shift; she had originally wanted to get close, find a place to exchange biological knowledge, never expecting to be pushed away again.

Thus, she instantly felt unwell.

Watching his retreating back, she could not suppress her resentment, mentally cursing the yellow-skinned monkey for having no taste, as if she, an old lady, would even look down on him!

…………

In the dark streets, Selinna followed the blood trail, all the way to a sewer entrance.

Without hesitation, she lifted the manhole cover with one hand and jumped down.

The next moment, gunfire rang out.

Selinna landed, rolled to dodge the bullets, then half‑squatted to stand and immediately opened fire in retaliation.

The werewolf, unaware at first that his chest had been shot, was overcome by pain, which brought out his beastly nature; he tore off the clothes on his back and began to transform.

But Selinna would not let him have his way; she leapt, kicked the transforming werewolf over, then stepped on his head and gave him a thorough beating.

Only then did she fire at the werewolf's head, emptying two magazines and learning his fate.

"Whoosh!"

Selinna held her gun, drawing her legs in, about to turn and leave.

But suddenly, rising and falling howls came from all around.

Selinna was still doubtful when suddenly a sinister wind arose behind her head.

She hastily turned and saw seven werewolves in their transformed state rushing toward her from a sewer.

Selinna's expression remained unchanged; she fired continuously with both hands on her guns.

But the werewolves' thick hides and great numbers meant that a few dozen bullets could not stop their advance.

Seeing this, Selinna knew that continuing to fight would be dangerous.

She then made a swift decision, turned and entered another sewer, hoping to escape the pursuit quickly.

The sewer was a maze; after wandering for half a day she still hadn't found an exit to the outside, but the werewolves caught her scent and came after her, surrounding her completely.

Hum…

By this point, Selinna had given up on fleeing, drew the Dog Leg Knife from the outer side of her legs, took a stance, and prepared for a fight to the death.

But suddenly, an abnormal change occurred.

Just then a gunshot rang out, and a figure leapt from the darkness to Selinna's side.

"Kailwen!" Selinna recognized the comer, her eyes flickered, and she asked, "How did you end up here?"

"I happened to discover that tonight's operation plan had been leaked to the werewolves; worried for your safety, I followed you here."

"Good thing I arrived in time." Kailwen showed a concerned expression.

"The plan was leaked? How could that be." Selinna furrowed her brows, then asked, "Who did you find out leaked it?"

"This…" Kailwen hesitated, but gritted his teeth and said, "Although I don't believe it either, based on the evidence gathered, the information was leaked by that yellow-skinned kid you brought back."

Hearing this, Selinna knew in her heart that Kailwen was framing her, but she put on an expression of disbelief: "Impossible, how could he betray the Blood Clan?"

"Whether it's really him or not, let's first deal with these dirty werewolves." Kailwen stopped there, not continuing, and changed the subject.

"All right." Selinna took a deep breath and nodded.

The ensuing battle was surprisingly easy; the werewolves that looked fierce showed no strength matching their aura, they were very weak.

In just ten minutes, they turned into seven cold corpses.

"Selinna, let's head back to the big house first." Kailwen smiled slightly, then abruptly changed tone: "About what I mentioned to you the night before last, what do you think?"

"I still need to avenge my family; I have no intention of anything else." Selinna's eyes flashed, and she said indifferently.

"My feelings have lasted hundreds of years—don't you know that yet?" Again and again… once more, Kailwen couldn't recall how many times he'd been rejected; his expression turned grim, and the last shred of his fantasy shattered.

Selinna knew Kailwen's true nature, realized he was a liar, completely unsympathetic, and said coldly: "Still the same—so long as werewolves exist in this world, I won't consider it."

"All right." Kailwen's face flushed red and white, memories of his centuries of sycophantic behavior flashed in his mind, years of resentment finally burst forth, and his countenance turned hideously ferocious.

"You wretch, it's all your fault forcing me like this—I originally just wanted to have a proper talk with you, but you're hanging out with that yellow-skinned monkey…"

Bang!

He hadn't finished his harsh words when a gunshot rang out.

At the instant the gunshot exploded, Kailwen's face changed abruptly as he sharply lowered his gaze to his crotch.

All that could be seen was his groin, now drenched in blood and completely numb.

Ah…

Seeing this, Kailwen's eyes nearly burst as he clutched his groin with both hands, rolled to the ground, and screamed in pain.

"Cough cough, I swear I was aiming for his head at the time."

Su Qing emerged from the darkness, looking at Selinna with a strange gaze, and hurriedly explained: "I just fought a werewolf; the gun barrel got bent by the werewolf, and I only just noticed."

Selinna remained silent; Su Qing walked over to her, looking at Kailwen on the ground clutching his pants, in agonizing pain, and felt a chill in his own groin.

But in his mind he thought viciously: "Anyone who dares to bully my woman, I'll make you a eunuch!"

At the same time he also wondered: "Can such a castrating injury be healed by self‑recovery? If so, this would practically be a blessing for eunuchs!"
