Chapter 35: Destroying Corpses and Erasing Traces, and Amiliya
In the city sewer, seven werewolf corpses lay neatly, blood flowing and spreading wildly, together depicting a blood‑red painting.
At that moment, lightning from the sky shone through the manhole cover, illuminating the surroundings.
Kailwen lay on the ground, hands covering his crotch, looking at the man and woman before him; his already resentful gaze grew darker, his teeth grinding.
In the moment he glared and gritted his teeth, a silver bullet shot forth, piercing his calf.
Su Qing blew on the gun muzzle, lifted the gun and crouched.
"Kailwen, you're a decent person—will you speak yourself, or shall I aim and fire another shot at your crotch?"
Kailwen's eyes flashed with malice; on his paper‑pale face he forced a smile and said calmly, "I don't know……"
"Bang!"
Su Qing's face first showed apology, then he asked curiously, "Sorry, sorry, my hand shook—what did you just say?"
"You……" Kailwen looked at the bullet hole in his thigh, feeling both shocked and angry, but seeing that the situation was against him, he lowered his head, a flash of humiliation in his eyes, and said, "This operation was based on what my subordinates told me……"
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a chill at his crotch; looking up, he saw Su Qing raising his gun, making a gesture.
"I already said it was a mistake—what more do you want?" Kailwen's face changed; he glared and demanded.
"Oh ho, you spout lie after lie and still have the nerve to lose your temper." Su Qing didn't stand on ceremony and gave him a big slap, making Kailwen see stars; under Kailwen's fiery stare he said, "Kailwen, drop the act—we already know about your little thing with Lucien. Now I ask you: aside from that bald old black guy, did Lucien take part in this operation?"
Hearing this, Kailwen's eyes widened in disbelief; he glanced at Su Qing, then turned his head to look at Selinna.
He saw Selinna standing there, her face calm as water, showing no surprise at all.
Seeing this, Kailwen realized his secrets had long been exposed.
"No wonder you kept refusing my courtship!" Kailwen felt a pang; since he was already exposed, he threw caution to the wind and bluntly laid out his plan: "This operation was indeed my idea—my goal was Selinna, hoping to play the hero saving the beauty……"
After Kailwen's explanation, Su Qing figured everything out.
After all that, it turned out he was a simp who had awakened, no longer willing to simp, and now wanted to force himself on her like a tyrant.
"Looks like my shot really hit the mark." Su Qing leaned in to whisper to Selinna with a smile.
Selinna didn't speak; she merely gave him a sideways glance, gave Kailwen a complex look, then turned and walked into the adjacent sewer.
Seeing this, Su Qing shrugged and gave Kailwen a big slap.
"Damn, you actually dared to have designs on my woman."
After being slapped again, Kailwen felt that humiliation.
But thinking of his own life, he dared not show any displeasure; he forced a smile and begged, "I've told you everything—please spare my life, I'll……"
"Bang bang bang……"
"Sorry, I have no intention of letting you go."
"Although I've never mixed with the underworld, I know the saying 'letting the tiger return to the mountain'; since we've already made deadly enemies, I might as well let you die!"
Two magazines' worth of bullets poured out, blasting Kailwen's head into a smashed watermelon; even with miraculous regenerative power, there was nothing he could do.
Thus, the turncoat and backstabber who in the movie betrayed the Blood Clan and stabbed Lucien in the back met his end here in the dark sewer.
"Phew, that's grim." Su Qing holstered his gun, shook his head, crouched and began to search the corpse—a skill he'd always remembered from his ancestors. I wonder what valuables Kailwen has on him?
Su Qing searched for a while and turned up four or five items, but they were just personal effects; unwilling to give up, he searched again and finally found a thumb‑sized small bottle in the opponent's pocket.
"What is this?"
Opening the bottle, he saw seven or eight pink, pea‑sized pills; he took one, held it to his nose and smelled a sweet fragrance. As the scent entered his body, he involuntarily felt a slight warmth.
Noticing the odd reaction in his body, even if he were stupid he'd know these pills weren't proper.
"Damn, it's an aphrodisiac." Su Qing hastily put the pills back in the bottle, screwed the cap on tight, and carefully slipped it into his pocket. This evil medicine, for the sake of social stability, he decided to take home and destroy—he could not allow it to remain.
Following procedure, after searching the corpse he destroyed the body to erase traces.
He took out the prepared corpse‑dissolving liquid from his pocket, opened the cap and poured it over the body; all that could be heard was a grating sound as the flesh turned to a bloody mush.
He didn't leave right away, but stood there waiting five minutes; seeing the corpse fully liquefied into a pool of blood, Su Qing finally felt at ease and departed.
Entering the sewer, he met up with Selinna; seeing her calm expression, he guessed there was no major impact, nodded at her to indicate everything was settled.
The two lingered no longer, retraced their route, and soon emerged from the sewer.
Guessing that Jiexika and the remaining vampires had already returned to the manor, the two had no intention of going back to the battlefield and headed straight for the manor.
Just as they returned to the manor in the heavy rain, they saw the hall filled with vampires, Jiexika among them.
Before Su Qing could even wonder, he noticed Selinna's gaze was off; following her line of sight…
…he saw seven or eight vampires coming down the stairs, led by a woman who wasn't particularly beautiful but possessed a unique aura that was very attractive.
The moment he saw the woman, a name flashed in Su Qing's mind: Amiliya.
"Thud thud……"
As she appeared, the entire hall fell silent, only her footsteps audible.
Amiliya walked down the stairs, glanced around, saw no second‑in‑command, and her brows furrowed slightly.
"Kailwen is out and hasn't returned yet." Jiexika, adept at reading faces, stepped forward respectfully and explained.
Amiliya nodded, her face regaining its noble elegance; she spared no glance for the other vampires and led those behind her deeper into the manor.
"Looks like we need to act quickly." Watching her retreating back, Su Qing mused to himself.
As the sole female among the three great elders, Amiliya may have only appeared for three minutes in the movie before getting a boxed lunch, but her strength is not weak—she is an excellent long‑range shooter.
The reason she was killed so easily back then was:
First, because in the train carriage the space was cramped, she couldn't bring her shooting power to bear and was closed in by a melee fighter;
Second, the wolves who launched the surprise attack were elite members of the Wolf Clan.
Once Amiliya left, the hall reverted to its usual decadence: the vampires played cards or opened bottles of blood wine, toasted and drank freely, and some even daringly embraced and began to gnaw on each other.
Watching this, Su Qing silently shook his head, as if he understood why in Midnight One Selinna could so easily run into the tomb chamber.
These vampires, lost in past victories, gradually grew lax in vigilance and ambition; after over ninety years they even relaxed their guard on the tomb chamber.
All that can be said is, this is very vampire‑like.
