Chapter 159: Tang Yun
"Where is the Cloud God? It's not marked on the map!"
"Four Symbols Valley? Sounds incredibly awesome!"
"Could this be some hidden map? The Cloud God's up to something big again!"
A Mu scratched his head, seemingly confused by Tang Yun's bewilderment. "Out… outsiders rarely come in." He spoke haltingly, as if unaccustomed to speaking with outsiders.
Only then did he notice the bloodstains on Tang Yun's chest and exclaimed: "You're injured!" He moved to inspect the wound.
Tang Yun waved his hand. "Minor wound, no big deal." He was now far more curious about this so-called "Qingyu Tribe." "Take me to your tribe."
A Mu hesitated, a flicker of caution in his eyes. "You… who are you?"
Tang Yun chuckled lightly. "Just passing through." He couldn't very well say he'd accidentally fallen through a Time-Space Rift and landed here—no one would believe him anyway.
A Mu clearly wasn't satisfied with that answer, but seeing the aura in Tang Yun's brow, he dared not press further. He grunted: "Follow me."
After passing through dense Cong Lin for about half an hour, the view suddenly opened up. A tribe built against the mountains appeared before Tang Yun.
The tribe's dwellings were constructed from wood and animal hides, appearing extremely crude.
In the center of the tribe burned a roaring bonfire, around which gathered men, women, and children engaged in some kind of ritual.
Seeing A Mu return, an elderly man with white hair shuffled forward unsteadily.
"A Mu, you're back! Did you find…?" The elder's words cut off as he spotted Tang Yun.
He froze in place, his cloudy eyes suddenly blazing with sharp light as he stared fixedly at the faint Yin-Yang Fish Mark on Tang Yun's forehead.
The next moment, his legs buckled and he knelt before Tang Yun.
"Chaos Path Guide… You've finally come!" The elder's voice trembled with excitement and reverence.
Tang Yun froze. Chaos Path Guide? Had this old man mistaken him for someone else?
The viewers in the Live Stream Room erupted.
"Holy shit! What's going on? Is the Cloud God the Savior now?"
"Chaos Path Guide? That title's so cringey!"
"He knelt! Is this old guy some hidden boss?"
A Mu was also stunned—he had never seen the chieftain act so out of control.
The elder explained excitedly.
"The prophecy states that only a Chaotic Dao Body can purify the corrupted Vermillion Bird Fire Seed! The Yin-Yang Fish Mark on your forehead is its sign!"
Tang Yun finally understood—the old man had mistaken him for some kind of Savior. He silently grimaced; he only wanted to find a way back home, not play the hero.
Still, he noticed the elder's mention of the "Vermillion Bird Fire Seed," and his interest stirred. That thing sounded incredibly powerful—maybe it could help him find his way back.
Tang Yun rolled up his sleeves, impatiently saying: "Cut the chatter. Lead the way."
The elder rose shakily, hunched over, and guided Tang Yun toward the bonfire at the tribe's center.
The flames roared, illuminating the tense, hopeful faces of the tribespeople.
At the heart of the bonfire stood a stone altar, carved with intricate patterns, radiating a scorching heat.
"This is… the Vermillion Bird Fire Seed Altar," the elder said, voice trembling, "Since the Fire Seed was corrupted, our tribe has…"
"Enough, enough, no more talk," Tang Yun interrupted impatiently. "How was the Fire Seed corrupted?"
The elder's face stiffened—he hadn't expected this "Chaos Path Guide" to be so blunt.
He paused, then continued: "A thousand years ago, the Vermillion Bird failed its rebirth. Its Residual Soul fell into darkness and corrupted the Fire Seed."
"Now, the Fire Seed emits chaotic energy. We cannot approach it, let alone harness its power."
"Failed rebirth?"
Tang Yun rubbed his chin, thinking inwardly—this plot felt oddly like a xianxia novel.
He stepped to the altar and examined its patterns closely.
"Lord, be careful!" the elder cried. "The energy around the altar is wildly chaotic—even powerful Tribe Warriors cannot get near!"
Tang Yun ignored his warning and reached out directly toward the altar.
A surge of searing heat instantly flooded into his body, yet he showed no reaction—not even flinching, and even yawned.
The viewers in the Live Stream Room were dumbfounded.
"Holy shit! Is the Cloud God invincible?"
"That's energy even Tribe Warriors can't approach! How is the Cloud God unaffected?!"
"Cloud God is awesome!"
"This move is 666!"
…
The Barrage rolled wildly, overflowing with exclamations and praise.
The elder was utterly speechless—he had lived this long and never seen such a powerful being.
He had assumed Tang Yun was merely lucky to possess the Chaotic Dao Body; he never imagined he was this strong!
At that moment, an anomaly erupted!
The patterns on the altar suddenly glowed, and a jet of black energy burst from its center, instantly engulfing Tang Yun.
"Lord!" the elder cried, rushing forward to help—but was thrown back by an invisible force.
From within the Black Mist came a piercing shriek: "Mortal! How dare you covet the blood of the gods!"
A woman clad in a black robe slowly emerged from the mist, her face twisted in a grotesque smile, her claws glinting with cold light.
"Vermillion Bird Residual Soul!" the elder cried in terror.
The black-robed woman flickered forward, her claws driving straight for Tang Yun's chest.
"Holy shit! Cloud God's in danger!"
"Dodge, quick!"
"What's this woman's background? How terrifying!"
……
In the Live Stream Room, the viewers' hearts all leaped into their throats.
Yet, Tang Yun stood motionless in place, letting the sharp claws pierce into his own chest.
"Is that all?"
Tang Yun sneered disdainfully, grabbing the black-robed woman's wrist with a backhanded grip.
A surge of black energy poured out from within him, traveling along her arm and pouring into the groove of the Altar.
"Bloodline of a god? Nothing more than contaminated fuel."
Boom!
With a tremendous roar, the Altar collapsed violently, debris flying in all directions.
As the dust settled, Tang Yun's figure appeared once more before everyone's eyes.
In his hand he held a feather burning with raging flames, and behind him the phantom image of a Three-Legged Golden Crow materialized.
The entire venue fell silent — one could hear a pin drop.
The old man, his hands trembling, held up a Jade Slip, walked before Tang Yun, and knelt to the ground.
"My lord can actually tame the Residual Soul of the Vermilion Bird… such a feat can only be matched by the ancient Ancestral Witches!"
Tang Yun casually flipped through the Jade Slip, which recorded a Cultivation Method called the "Nanming Lihuo Art."
"Ancestral Witches? Nothing but a bunch of old antiques who liked to play with fire."
In the Live Stream Room, the Barrage exploded once more.
"Cloud God is showing off! I bow down!"
"Even the Ancestral Witches are old antiques now? Cloud God is way too wild!"
"!"
……
Just then, a commotion came from the distance.
