Chapter 68: Struggle
"Boom!"
With a loud bang, Tang Yun flew backward like a kite with a broken string, falling heavily to the ground and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"Tang Yun!" Lin Xiyue exclaimed, hurriedly running to Tang Yun's side, supporting him, and asking anxiously, "Are you alright?"
Tang Yun wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and grinned: "I'm fine, I won't die."
Although he said that, Tang Yun knew clearly in his heart that he was not lightly injured by this blow.
The power of that tentacle was too great; even though he had used Chaos Medical Qi to protect his body, his internal organs were still shaken and injured.
"Damn it, what the hell is this thing?" Tang Yun struggled to stand up, looked up at the massive tentacle, his eyes filled with wariness.
The tentacle seemed to sense Tang Yun's gaze, lashed out fiercely, and struck at him again.
"Careful!" Lin Xiyue pulled Tang Yun away, narrowly dodging the attack.
"Boom!"
The tentacle smashed into the ground, the earth shook violently, and a massive deep pit appeared.
"The power of this thing is too terrifying!" Tang Yun said with a solemn expression, "We must find a way to leave here."
"But, we're surrounded!" Lin Xiyue pointed to the surroundings and said.
They saw that, at some point, dozens of massive black tentacles had appeared around them, surrounding them tightly.
These tentacles were like demons crawled out of hell, radiating a heart-palpitating aura.
"Grass! We're in big trouble now!" Tang Yun couldn't help but curse, his heart filled with despair.
He had originally thought that everything would be fine after dealing with the guy in the crack, but he hadn't expected that an even greater crisis was waiting for him.
"What should we do?" Lin Xiyue grabbed Tang Yun's hand tightly, her eyes filled with fear.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here." Tang Yun took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.
Now was not the time for panic; he had to find a way to break out.
"Xiyue, can you still fight?" Tang Yun asked.
Lin Xiyue nodded: "I can still fight."
"Good, let's kill our way out together!" A flash of ruthlessness crossed Tang Yun's eyes, and Chaos Medical Qi erupted again, wrapping around him and Lin Xiyue.
"Charge!"
Tang Yun shouted, pulled Lin Xiyue, and charged in one direction.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The massive tentacles kept smashing down, and Tang Yun and Lin Xiyue dodged left and right, narrowly escaping death.
"Pfft!"
A tentacle grazed Tang Yun's shoulder, tearing away a piece of flesh.
"Tang Yun!" Lin Xiyue exclaimed.
"I'm fine!" Tang Yun gritted his teeth and continued to charge forward.
He knew that they couldn't stop; once they stopped, there would be only one dead end.
They were like two trapped beasts, struggling in despair, searching for a glimmer of hope for survival.
Just at this moment, a sudden change occurred!
Those tentacles that had been attacking them crazily suddenly stopped their movements, standing still like sculptures.
"What's going on?" Tang Yun and Lin Xiyue were both stunned, not understanding what had happened.
Suddenly, a cold voice rang out in their ears: "Interesting, truly interesting, I didn't expect to encounter such interesting souls here..."
Tang Yun and Lin Xiyue stood back-to-back, looking around vigilantly. The voice seemed to be everywhere, yet its source could not be captured. Lin Xiyue asked in a low voice: "Tang Yun, what is this thing?"
Tang Yun frowned tightly; he could feel a powerful force approaching. This force far exceeded any enemy he had encountered before, even making him feel a sense of suffocation. "I don't know, but it's definitely not something good." He clenched his fists, Chaos Medical Qi flowing in his palms, ready to deal with sudden danger at any time.
The space began to twist, and a massive black vortex appeared before them, as if it wanted to swallow everything. At the center of the vortex, a blurry figure slowly emerged. Its face could not be seen, only a pair of scarlet eyes flashing with strange light.
"Who are you?" Tang Yun asked sternly, his voice carrying a trace of trembling; he had never felt so powerless.
The figure let out a light laugh, the sound as ear-piercing as metal friction, "Who am I? That's an interesting question... You can call me 'The Observer'."
"The Observer?" Tang Yun repeated the name, his heart even more confused.
"That's right, I observe everything in this universe, watching the rise and fall of civilizations, the reincarnation of life..." The Observer said slowly, "Your struggles, your despair, are all in my eyes."
"Then why did you stop these tentacles?" Lin Xiyue asked; she didn't understand what this guy who called himself "The Observer" wanted to do.
The Observer was silent for a moment, then said: "Because... I am very interested in you, Tang Yun."
Tang Yun's heart tightened, and a chill ran from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. "Interested in me? What do you mean?"
"Your existence is an accident, a variable that shouldn't have appeared." The Observer said, "Within your body, you have fused the powers of reality and the virtual. This power can even threaten me."
"Threaten you?" Tang Yun sneered, "You claim to be an existence that observes the entire universe, and I can threaten you?"
"Don't underestimate yourself, Tang Yun." The Observer's voice became low, "Your potential far exceeds your imagination. If you continue to grow, perhaps you really can overturn the order of this universe."
A stormy sea surged in Tang Yun's heart; he hadn't expected that he would be targeted by such a powerful existence. He took a deep breath, trying to keep himself calm. "What do you want?"
"I want to... see where your limit is." The Observer said, extending a finger and pointing at Tang Yun, "Let me see, just how far you can go."
An invisible force enveloped Tang Yun; he felt his body as if it were imprisoned, unable to move.
"What do you want to do?" Tang Yun roared, struggling desperately, but to no avail.
The Observer did not answer, just watching him quietly, his eyes flashing with inexplicable light.
Suddenly, Tang Yun felt his body beginning to change, and a violent pain swept over him, making him unable to help but let out a miserable scream. His skin began to crack, blood kept seeping out, and his bones made clicking sounds, as if they were about to be crushed.
"Ah!" Tang Yun roared in pain, feeling as if his body were about to be torn apart.
Lin Xiyue watched this scene in terror, wanting to step forward to help, but discovered that she was also bound by an invisible force, unable to move.
"Tang Yun!" She shouted in despair, tears streaming down her face.
The Observer watched coldly, without a trace of pity. "Let me see, how much pain you can endure..."
Tang Yun felt his consciousness beginning to blur, and everything before his eyes became distorted. Just as he was about to collapse, the Chaos Medical Qi in his body suddenly erupted, and a powerful force surged out from within him, shattering the force that bound him. ===== CHAPTER 69 =====
