Chapter 69: Chaos Medical Qi

~7 min read 1,256 words

"Ugh, ah!" Tang Yun let out a roar, his body changing again, but this time it was no longer pain, but a sense of power like never before. He felt his body filled with energy, as if he could destroy everything.

He opened his eyes abruptly, his eyes flashing with golden light, like a heavenly god descending.

Tang Yun's roar echoed in the deep space of the universe, shaking every person's soul like tearing silk. Golden flames burned in his eyes, as if they could penetrate all falsehoods, making the Observer's pupils shrink slightly.

"Chaos Medical Qi, truly interesting." The Observer smiled, his fingers flicking lightly, and instantly the entire space twisted violently. The surrounding stars dripped down like melted wax, piecing together a massive and strange star gate.

"This is... the residual power of the Taixu Return to Zero code?" Lin Xiyue exclaimed. The star gate before her radiated a suffocating sense of oppression, as if it could swallow the hope of all living things.

The Observer sighed lightly, as if responding to her words, "It is indeed. The residual power condensed into this gate, leading to another possibility."

Tang Yun stared at the star gate, his brow furrowed tightly. The power in his body was still flowing wantonly, but he couldn't feel the path for the next step. He looked down at his palm, where a wisp of Chaos Medical Qi was jumping, but it had no guidance, just waiting silently for his choice.

"Tang Yun," suddenly, a low voice came from behind the star gate, booming in everyone's ears like a great bell, "Push open the star gate, and the universe will restart into absolute order; stay, and you will usher in uncontrollable free evolution."

Lin Xiyue gasped, gripping Tang Yun's wrist tightly, her eyes filled with anxiety, "No matter what, that is definitely not order, it is destruction!"

Tang Yun didn't answer; his gaze fell heavily on the global live stream window. The voting data updating in real-time on the screen was jumping crazily: the choice for restarting order occupied more than half, approaching 60%.

"Your subjects have already given their options." The Observer said slowly, "They fear losing control and crave order. Choose order; this universe owes you a position as a god."

Tang Yun gritted his teeth, his gaze sweeping over the Observer like a knife, then falling on the star gate, but suddenly, he frowned. He stared at the source of the vote changes and discovered a strange pattern: all the accounts supporting the restart actually came from the same star domain, and that star domain... actually belonged to the residual consciousness left behind by the First Generation Medicine King!

"A manipulated scam." He sneered, his eyes becoming increasingly sharp, "The Medicine King can actually still do this much."

The Observer chuckled as if playing with prey, "Everything is a game, and you, Tang Yun, can choose to be the winner of the game."

But before Tang Yun could respond, Lin Xiyue's voice suddenly rang out, trembling, "I... I see myself." She took another look at the star gate, her face as pale as withered wood, "In a parallel universe, I lead civilization to destruction. Tang Yun, I... might be a failure forever."

"No!" Tang Yun gripped her wrist tightly, his voice resounding, "Every civilization that evolves freely is worth fighting for. We are not the Medicine King's chess pieces, and we are definitely not a destiny destined for destruction!"

"Heh." The Observer raised his hand to stretch, and the star gate erupted with a brilliant and terrifying light. The alien fleet at the edge of the universe emerged, and the "Gene Furnace" at the bow of the flagship began to hum, frantically absorbing the power of the star gate.

On the mothership, an alien queen wearing black royal robes walked slowly into the screen. Her face was as exquisite as if carved, her thin lips curled slightly, and her voice was cold, "Your choices are meaningless; I only need power—push open the star gate, and order will be controlled by me, and you... including Tang Yun, will become my cosmic gods."

Lin Xiyue couldn't stop her whole body from trembling; she was swaying beneath her feet, "Tang Yun, what she said is true, she can bring order..."

Tang Yun closed his eyes, but in his mind flashed that tiny account on the live stream screen, an ordinary person who had crowdfunded his family's savings and sent his only genetic contribution, just to let Tang Yun continue to fight.

"Why should I become a god of order?" Tang Yun opened his eyes abruptly, the golden light suddenly dimming, becoming incomparably profound, "Free evolution is the future, and the Medicine King manipulating all of this is sorry to every believer of freedom!"

The Alien Queen's expression stiffened slightly, and the Observer's eyes began to dim. Tang Yun approached the star gate step by step, the mad plundering power in the air being shattered alive by him.

Suddenly, he took a step forward.

But stopped abruptly.

Tang Yun's boot hovered in mid-air, unable to move forward even an inch. Invisible pressure surged like a tide, binding him firmly. He turned his head to look at the Observer, who had a cold smile of victory on his face, as if mocking his overconfidence.

"Tang Yun, who do you think you are?" The Observer's voice carried a trace of teasing, "You are just a mortal possessing Chaos Medical Qi, and you want to fight against the rules of the universe?"

Tang Yun ignored his mockery and instead cast his gaze toward the star gate. The star gate was flickering with light, as if it would close completely in the next second. He took a deep breath, and the Chaos Medical Qi surged in his body like a dormant dragon, ready to break through the shackles at any time.

"I never thought of myself as a god," Tang Yun's voice was low and firm, "But I believe that every life has the right to choose its own destiny."

He raised his hand abruptly, and in his palm, the Chaos Medical Qi condensed into an incomparably sharp blade. The blade radiated dazzling light, dispelling the surrounding darkness.

"The will of freedom cannot be trampled upon!" Tang Yun roared, and the blade in his hand slashed fiercely at the invisible barrier binding him.

With a loud bang, the barrier shattered like glass. Tang Yun's body also regained its freedom. He charged toward the star gate without hesitation, his speed as fast as lightning.

The Observer's expression changed drastically; he hadn't expected Tang Yun to be able to break through the shackles of the universe's rules. He hurriedly reached out, wanting to stop Tang Yun, but it was already too late.

Tang Yun's figure had already disappeared into the star gate.

Inside the star gate was a chaotic world. Countless stars twinkled, like the scene when the universe was first born. Tang Yun was in it, feeling as if he had returned to the womb, warm and comfortable.

"Welcome to the world of freedom, Tang Yun." A gentle voice rang out in his ear.

Tang Yun looked toward the sound and saw a woman wearing white robes standing before him. The woman's face was blurry, but she radiated a sacred aura, making one unable to help but want to worship her.

"Who are you?" Tang Yun asked.

"I am the will of freedom," the woman replied, "and also the guardian of this universe." ===== CHAPTER 70 =====
