Chapter 413: Luring the Wolf into the House

~8 min read 1,440 words

Ke Zhongyu's kiss grew deeper and deeper; Jiang Lai could barely fend it off— at home it would have been fine, but this was outside, and moreover an open-air racetrack.

She put her hand on Ke Zhongyu's chest, pushed a little, and asked, slightly out of breath, "Aren't we supposed to test the new car?"

Ke Zhongyu slowly released his grip, lowered his eyes to look at the palm pressed against his chest, lifted it to his lips and kissed it, saying, "I'll take you for a test drive."

The two got out of the car.

A cold wind blew; Ke Zhongyu forced himself to stay calm, he took Jiang Lai's wrist and walked slowly toward his private garage, stopping in front of a car covered with a matte dust cover.

Ke Zhongyu tilted his head to signal the track staff; the two stepped forward and pulled off the cover, revealing a McLaren 750S in all its glory— an extreme, understated charcoal black, a low-slung, sleek body that was clean and sharp, with cold, hard lines like a black iron blade, understated yet oppressive.

The engine rumbled and exploded; the sports car, wrapped in the cold wind, swept onto the curve, and the rich, low mechanical roar filled the cabin.

At the instant the car launched forward, Jiang Lai's spine tensed instinctively, but as she caught a glimpse of Ke Zhongyu's profile in her peripheral vision, her body gradually relaxed.

The man's outer corners of his eyes lifted lazily, the corner of his mouth holding an unabashed faint smile, his dark pupils seeming to hold unrestrained, scorching light.

His identity and responsibilities were temporarily set aside, revealing the vigor and spirit unique to a youth.

"How is it? A Lai."

His voice had shed its usual deep chill, taking on a slightly light and relaxed tone, as if awaiting her praise.

Jiang Lai saw another side of Ke Zhongyu—not the strategic business magnate, but rather like a carefree youth chasing the wind.

As it turned out, Ke Zhongyu would show this side when racing.

"So does Ke Zhongyu prefer racing more, or astronomy more?"

"A Lai." Ke Zhongyu glanced at her, his hand on the wheel not pausing, "Look ahead."

Although he liked A Lai staring at him, right now he wanted A Lai to share his gaze, looking forward together.

"All right." Jiang Lai looked ahead, personally experiencing what speed and passion felt like, what an adrenaline surge was, and the ultimate relaxation that came after smoothly navigating each turn.

Speeding was truly an exhilarating activity, but she showed no fear; instead she began to enjoy this feeling, especially Ke Zhongyu's sharp, handsome profile.

After completing a lap and stopping, Ke Zhongyu, without a word, undid his seat belt and leaned toward Jiang Lai, lifting her chin to kiss her.

Having just gone through an exhilarating race, Jiang Lai's whole body's cells were also activated; she opened her mouth to respond to him, wrapping her arms around his neck to respond.

Ke Zhongyu's kiss grew ever more intense, ever more out of control.

Finally, after Jiang Lai accidentally bumped her head, he stopped, hurriedly stroked her head, and said in a hoarse voice, "Sorry, this car is too narrow."

Or the Cullinan is spacious.

Jiang Lai had already been aroused by his kisses, her breathing just as heavy; she tilted her head and kissed the corner of his lips again.

Ke Zhongyu very much wanted her.

But their first time cannot be here.

The experience would be too bad.

He pressed Jiang Lai into his embrace; the two held each other in the narrow car for a while, feeling each other's breathing go from heavy to gradually calm.

Thump thump thump…

Someone knocked on the car window.

Ke Zhongyu sat back in his seat, glanced at Jiang Lai's face—no longer flushed—then lowered the window.

Ke Zhongying crossed her arms, looking at the two in the car: "I just knew some people couldn't resist racing."

Jiang Lai opened the car door and got out; Ke Zhongying took a bottle of fresh juice from her bag and handed it to Jiang Lai.

"Have some juice to calm your nerves—you weren't scared by my brother's crazy racing, were you?"

Jiang Lai chuckled: "No."

She also quite liked seeing Ke Zhongyu like this—very handsome, very… weak-kneed.

Jiang Lai twisted open the cap and gulped down two big mouthfuls, glug glug.

Before Ke Zhongyu could speak, Ke Zhongying said, "You don't get a share, just causing trouble, bullying Sister Jiang Lai."

Ke Zhongyu thought of how he had just bitten Jiang Lai's lip with his teeth, and could not deny the word "bullying."

The next second he saw Jiang Lai handing over the juice, and while speaking to Ke Zhongying he said, "Hungry? If you are, there are biscuits in the car—you can have a snack to tide you over, then we'll go home for a meal."

"A little hungry, let's go, let's go—it's already late." Ke Zhongying linked arms with Jiang Lai, still keeping an eye on her brother's half‑bottle of juice in his hand, and gave him a glare.

Ke Zhongyu was feeling pleased, and simply didn't care whether Ke Zhongying glared or not.

He had been walking behind, watching Jiang Lai and Ke Zhongying walk ahead hand in hand, when suddenly he saw Jiang Lai's other hand reach back.

Each of her slightly upward‑curved fingers looked to him like a hook, tugging at the corners of his eyes with a smile; he reached out with his big hand, and the moment his fingers touched hers, they were clasped.

Ke Zhongying suddenly noticed her brother moving in sync with the two of them, realized what was going on, clicked her tongue and shook her head twice, released Jiang Lai's arm, and shifted a little to the side—quite perceptive.

After all, she was not only Jiang Lai's eldest legitimate daughter, but also her brother's biological sister.

Come on, come on—the more they talked, the more they resembled lovers in the honeymoon phase; let them be in love!

Best if they stay in love for a lifetime!

When returning, Ke Zhongying drove herself, no longer arguing over who Jiang Lai would sit with, she hopped into the car, and after taking her seat she blew Jiang Lai a kiss: "See you at Number Ten Courtyard! I miss Mo Yi's cooking."

Ke Zhongyu opened the car door for Jiang Lai to get in, and while she fastened her seat belt he reached out again to lift her chin and lowered his head to kiss her.

A stern face, a gentle kiss.

Jiang Lai burst out laughing and said two words: "Clingy."

Ke Zhongyu didn't object, closed the car door, walked around the front to the driver's seat, and drove back steadily.

Ping'an was actually waiting for them downstairs, holding a sheet of paper.

Seeing the car stop, he immediately ran over and handed the paper to Jiang Lai, shouting happily, "Jiang Ping'an!"

It was a copy of the household register.

One could tell without thinking that it was a copy specially made by the Ji family for him to bring back.

Jiang Lai pinched the paper: "It was processed this quickly?"

Ping'an nodded vigorously: "Mm-hmm!"

Jiang Lai could tell he was really happy, and Ping'an again slowly explained: "ID card, none."

Ke Zhongyu: "ID card has to wait."

Ping'an nodded: "Have to wait."

Jiang Lai rubbed his head: "Did you see Chongying, sis?"

Ping'an pointed upstairs with his hand.

They had already gone up ahead; the three followed, Jiang Lai unlocked the door with her fingerprint, and the food's aroma drifted over.

Ping'an changed into slippers and walked ahead.

Jiang Lai changed into slippers but stayed in the entryway, waiting for Ke Zhongyu to finish changing shoes, then said: "Ke Zhongyu, wait a moment."

Ke Zhongyu lifted his gaze toward her.

Jiang Lai took out her phone, opened the smart lock's app, and said to Ke Zhongyu: "Scan a fingerprint."

Ke Zhongyu froze for a moment.

Last time, when I had him register at the guardhouse, the word "partner" made him restless; now there's another fingerprint scan.

Going to hook him to death.

Ke Zhongyu recorded his thumbprint, pressed it on the door handle, the red light turned green, and the lock opened.

He pinched Jiang Lai's cheeks: "Do you know what you're doing?"

Jiang Lai slightly tilted her head: "Luring the wolf into the house?"

"Hmm, not bad." Ke Zhongyu's brow twitched slightly, he lowered his head and whispered in her ear: "Are you ready to be eaten at any moment? You're so bold."
