Chapter 128: I'll Take Responsibility for the Incident
Fu Sijue raised his head in surprise, and Lu Xiwán quickly averted her gaze, avoiding eye contact with him.
"Let's go, the kids will get anxious if we wait too long."
Lu Xiwán hurried upstairs, tidied the two children's clothes, and led them to stand before Fu Sijue.
Fu Sijue quickened his steps to catch up with her, his eyes dim, looking at her, about to speak but held back.
Lu Xiwán pretended not to notice, naturally taking Yao Yao's small hand.
This child is truly unusually well‑behaved.
But… thinking of Zhong Yun's claim that her hypnosis has never worked, Lu Xiwán couldn't help but frown.
Lost in thought, the car had already come to a steady stop at the Science and Technology Museum entrance.
"We're here," Fu Sijue gently prodded the pensive Lu Xiwán.
Lu Xiwán snapped back to attention, meeting Yao Yao's worried gaze, and forced a slight smile at the corner of her mouth.
"I didn't rest well last night," her explanation seemed too pale and feeble to Fu Sijue.
Before he could ask, Lu Xiwán was the first to open the car door and step out.
Yao Yao hurried after Lu Xiwán, curiously looking at the exhibits inside the Science and Technology Museum.
"Do you like these?" Lu Xiwán followed Yao Yao's gaze.
The child seemed happy, yet she always felt they were deliberately suppressing their emotions.
Yao Yao nodded carefully, and Lu Xixi ran up from behind, immediately grabbing the hand that was hanging at their side.
"Uncle Fu said there's an Astronomy exhibition over there, Brother Yao Yao, come with me quickly to watch the stars!"
Without waiting for Yao Yao's objection, Lu Xixi tugged him and ran off.
Lu Xixi's mischievous, sprightly demeanor made Lu Xiwán smile at the sight.
"Miss Xi, you consider—"
"Xi Wan? You're also in Haicheng!"
Fu Sijue frowned, looking at the middle‑aged man walking from afar.
He could only swallow the words he had been brewing for half a day, standing resentfully beside Lu Xiwán.
Ji You's eyebrows and eyes carried a smile as he strode over.
"We'd arranged to meet several times before, you always said you had no time; I didn't expect to run into you here."
"Who is this?" Ji You's gaze, the moment it met Fu Sijue, became slightly stiff.
Fu Sijue knew him.
But how is he with Xi Wan?
Lu Xiwán gave a faint smile, subtly averting his scrutinizing gaze, and slipped him a look.
Ji You smiled faintly, nodding to accept her unspoken request.
"President Fu is the father of my patient; Mr. Ji, what brings you to me?"
Fu Sijue didn't realize his gaze at Ji You was filled with hostility, and even after Lu Xiwán's reminder, he didn't restrain it.
Compared with his peers, Ji You truly lived up to the description "elegant and graceful"; a pair of gold‑rimmed glasses perched on his high nose bridge.
"We've known each other so long, no need for formalities. Our company is holding an event in Haicheng, and this Technology exhibition is all our tech. Shall I show you around?"
Ji You was about to lead Lu Xiwán away naturally, but Fu Sijue reached out and grabbed her wrist.
The refusal was made very obvious.
Lu Xiwán gently pried Fu Sijue's hand apart, "Ji You and I are old friends, it's fine."
"I'll go find the kids first."
