Chapter 179: Lu Xixi Lost
Lu Xiwán didn't waste any time and immediately accepted Tang Yi's challenge.
"If you lose, you have to bring me a month's worth of meals," Tang Yi lifted her head and looked at Lu Xiwán proudly.
Lu Xiwán leisurely opened her computer, and Sang Hongfang's data arrived just in time.
"Then let's begin."
The contest began with Lu Xiwán's words; the smug Tang Yi, who had been waiting to watch the spectacle, was slapped in the face and hurried back to her workstation in a fluster.
As time ticked by second by second, cold beads of sweat covered Tang Yi's forehead, and her eyes flicked rapidly over line after line of code on the computer screen.
She was more familiar with the project than Lu Xiwán, but she was extremely impatient at this moment.
Tang Yi glanced sideways at Lu Xiwán and suddenly felt confident.
She didn't believe that this woman who had joined midway could defeat her.
"If it doesn't work, let's just call it off; Tang Yi is the country's best female hacker."
Even Sang Hong, the chief, had to exert great effort to try to bring Tang Yi under his command.
Given Tang Yi's abilities, it's normal that she can't stand Lu Xiwán, the newcomer.
A number of people also gathered around Lu Xiwán, but they were all doubting her.
Even if she were famous abroad, what's the use? If they don't recognize her, it's all meaningless.
Lu Xiwán scanned the code at a glance, quickly reading the lines before her, and ignored all the sarcastic remarks from those around her.
"My dictionary doesn't contain the word 'give up'," Lu Xiwán said, remaining far calmer than the sweat‑drenched Tang Yi.
Even so, the onlookers still wagered everything on Tang Yi.
"Sister Tang, don't rush; if you look carefully you'll definitely find it."
Hearing their cheers, Tang Yi grew even more anxious, her facial muscles tightening.
Lu Xiwán lightly tapped the keyboard twice, and the sharp‑eyed onlookers let out a sudden scream.
"What on earth are you doing! That segment is the most crucial part of the entire data set! Luckily you're using a backup version..."
Although the sentence was left unfinished, everyone understood the implication.
If they had used the original version, everyone's long‑standing effort would have gone up in flames.
"Too noisy."
Lu Xiwán frowned slightly, but her hands didn't slow; she deleted a large block of code, her delicate fingers dancing continuously across the keyboard.
In less than five minutes, Lu Xiwán slapped the desk and stood up.
"It's fixed."
Tang Yi froze instantly, staring at Lu Xiwán in disbelief.
The people beside her also fell into silence.
All those people had spent months tweaking a code segment they were never satisfied with, and Lu Xiwán solved it so easily?
"You're lying, right? How could it be solved so quickly? In class we thought our work had no issues; I don't believe you could find an even simpler method!"
Lu Xiwán's surroundings were never short of skeptical voices.
She pursed her lips at the computer, "If you don't believe it, check it yourself."
After speaking, a crowd swarmed to her computer, but Tang Yi remained staring blankly at her seat.
She cast an incredulous glance at Lu Xiwán.
How could it be so fast?
"You cheated, you must have cheated, otherwise it couldn't be this fast!"
