Chapter 354: I
Chris's angular face showed impatience, clearly issuing a dismissal order.
Qiana looked up at Chris, a flash of mockery in her eyes.
"Don't be so eager to drive me away."
"It was Uncle who sent me; he's afraid you'll act rashly and cause trouble."
Qiana's eyes, like a hawk that has found prey, stared tightly at Lu Xiwán, inexplicably unsettling.
"Impulsive?" Chris sounded as if hearing a joke, his gaze locked onto Qiana.
"Then go back now and tell my father; even if you need someone to watch me, make sure it's a different person. Otherwise," he paused a moment, "Fu Sijue, if he can flatten this place, he can also leave us with no chance of recovery."
Both Chris and Qiana were equally resolute, each unwilling to yield to the other.
Qiana lowered her gaze, as if pondering something.
When she lifted her eyes again, the corners were still a bit wet, "I won't move her for now."
Chris let out a hum from his throat, then rose and went upstairs.
He stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at them, "If anything happens to her, I'll go to Fu Sijue myself to explain."
Such a principled, rule‑talking kidnapper is rare; Lu Xiwán exhaled, took a sheet of paper from the table and placed it before Qiana.
"I don't know why you said those things the last time you went to Vacation Villa… If the Fu Family really did something unforgivable, I hope you can tell me."
Lu Xiwán was eager to know what exactly made Qiana harbor such hatred toward the Fu Family, to the point of wanting to kill them.
After Chris left, Qiana quickly steadied her already shattered emotions, and, hearing Lu Xiwán's words, let out a cold laugh.
"The gods will not pardon the Fu Family; you all will go to hell!"
She gave no explanation, merely uttering this vague curse.
"One day, I will kill you all with my own hands!"
Qiana cursed Lu Xiwán viciously in Chinese, her words a foggy mess.
"Even when the gods judge a person, they tell them the crimes they've committed; I have the right to know all of this!"
Lu Xiwán hurriedly retorted, but Qiana's expression grew colder, "Then let the gods tell you! Not a single member of the Fu Family can escape!"
Qiana's emotions flared; Lu Xiwán dared not speak further, fearing to enrage her.
Lu Xiwán dropped it.
The Vacation Villa was in chaos like a bowl of porridge; even reviewing the night's surveillance was already of no use.
Fu Sijue spent the entire night awake, personally checking the surveillance with Shen Shu.
Even Zhu Shutao couldn't stand it any longer, forcing someone to yank Fu Sijue out.
"We haven't found anyone yet; you first wear out your own body," she said, having Zhongyi Shu bring a bowl of porridge, and gave Xie Zhangwen a glance.
"The news has been sealed off; I estimate that even if they try to take Wanwan away, they won't get far. I'll have Uncle Xie help you search; as long as they're still in Haicheng, the person will be safe."
To prevent any escapees, Fu Sijue has already barred all personnel from entering or leaving Vacation Villa.
Even Xie Zian was summoned for a talk.
Fu Sijue strained to play the disappointed one before everyone, and unsurprisingly succeeded in deceiving them all.
Because they couldn't draw attention, even Zhong He discussed plans only at night when everyone was resting.
Zhong He looked at Fu Sijue and sighed, "There's no need to torture your own body."
He's sharp‑tongued but soft‑hearted; watching Fu Sijue torment himself, he felt pity.
Fu Sijue shook his head, "Not everyone in Vacation Villa is clean; I only trust the Master and the Xie family."
He was hinting at Lilian, and Zhong He furrowed his brows.
Fu Sijue's words were not without reason.
"Your people watching over Wanwan, probably nothing will happen." Thinking this, Zhong He felt considerably relieved and let out a sigh.
Fu Sijue's expression remained solemn, "I'm uneasy."
Zhong He: …
"That's your manpower; it shouldn't go wrong, right?" Zhong He suddenly regretted agreeing with Lu Xiwán.
Fu Sijue himself didn't dare to be sure?
The computer still played surveillance footage; the Study lacked cameras, so they could only try to find clues from outside.
As hard as climbing to the heavens.
"I don't have a hundred percent certainty; when it concerns Wanwan, I can't take risks."
Zhong He's whole body broke out in goosebumps, and with a trembling voice he tried to comfort Fu Sijue, "Now that it's come to this, we can't do anything…"
Unexpectedly, Fu Sijue suddenly lifted his eyelids to look at Zhong He, his gaze full of expectation, startling Zhong He.
"Master, I want to go find Wanwan."
Zhong He instantly stood up, "You're insane!"
These two truly cared for each other; before leaving, Lu Xiwán quietly reminded Zhong He to take good care of Fu Sijue.
Fu Sijue's eyes were clear and bright; he understood his choice more than ever.
"Only when I'm by her side can I be at ease."
Fu Sijue's words rang out like thunder; Zhong He muttered a few times at his throat, but ultimately said nothing.
Lu Xiwán and Fu Sijue were undoubtedly lucky; among so many people in this world, they each found the one who cared for them most.
…
Chris still couldn't rest easy about Qiana, mainly because Qiana's gaze at Lu Xiwán seemed as if she wanted to devour her.
Chris had no doubt; if one day he didn't keep watch, Lu Xiwán would be ripped apart alive by Qiana.
Looking at the line of tall men in sunglasses and suits before him, Chris nodded with satisfaction.
With these people, protecting Lu Xiwán would be more than enough.
It's just that Lu Xiwan obviously wasn't used to having a crowd of people around her, and she immediately voiced her opinion to Chris.
I think even if you want to protect me, one person watching is enough; there's no need to arrange so many people.
Lu Xiwan also didn't believe Qiana had that much ability to take all these people down.
Chris, however, was completely unfazed: "You should know that here you have no right to say no."
"Of course, sir." Lu Xiwan earnestly echoed.
Her gaze swept over the row of men in suits.
"But my heart isn't good; if I constantly have this many people around me and my body develops problems because of it… you won't be able to get out of it either."
Lu Xiwan's threat sounded completely natural; Chris obviously liked it, and his face instantly darkened.
In the end he still acquiesced to Lu Xiwan's request, letting her pick whoever she wanted.
Lu Xiwan felt no affection for these people; their very existence was merely for Chris to control her.
Just as she walked past the outermost edge, Lu Xiwan suddenly caught a faint hint of sandalwood.
She lifted her head and looked at the man in the suit: "What's his name?"
Chris shrugged: "We have plenty of people like him around here; just look at his number… just call him 347."
Such a casual naming method… Lu Xiwan couldn't be bothered to complain, and pointed at 347:
"I'll take him."
